Mayfestiversary this weekend (5/23-5/24) at Begyle/Dovetail!
Begyle Brewing and Dovetail Brewery are hosting their annual party to kick off Chicago’s best season!
Join us for plenty of local beer, food, music, activities for all ages, and a chance to support The Friendship Center, our neighborhood food pantry serving the Northwest Side since 1969.
There is a suggested $5 donation at the gate, but 100% of that donation goes straight to The Friendship Center to help feed those in need. You will not be bullied for money. If you can give: please do! This is a completely independent festival organized by Begyle, Dovetail and TFC.
Saturday May 23rd 11am-10pm / Sunday May 24th 11am-9pm
Check out the Begyle beer options (including very limited variants) here!
Check out the Dovetail beer options here!
The official Mayfestiversary website has all the food vendors, band lineups, and kids activities info.
Chicago - Hyde Park
[Thought I’d posted earlier but cannot find it.]
Visiting Chicago late next month but staying in Hyde Park - not my choice - which is quite the haul for just about any brewery I care to visit.
I’ll have one day to move around a bit, but would like to know if there are any great breweries, taprooms, beer bars nearby.

Best spots - looking for recommendations
I'm coming to town in early June and have 4 days to travel around town to find some of the best beers and best pubs and bars... we're beer nerds and foodies...where should we go? What should we sample?
Thanks in advance
Pollyanna Bus Trip Day
Seemingly an annual event or at least this is the third year in a row. It is too late to sign up for this year, obviously as it starts in like an hour, but this is somewhat unique in the area, as the 3 Pollyanna breweries send their regulars on a loop to the other two breweries. So you start in one of the breweries, St. Charles for example, are bussed to Lamont for more than an hour, to Roselle for more than an hour, and back to St. Charles. It is like a festival to day drinking with all that entails.
Best NA beer in a bar?
We have a couple threads on non-alcoholic beverages in general. But the landscape in this market sector is hopefully evolving.
Where can I go to a bar or brewery and get a pint of great NA beer (pilsner or west coast IPA)? If it is served on draft, I will give you all of **le reddit gold**
I know about Marz, and I know most places have some sad cans of All Day Kolsch kicking around in the back of the fridge.
Thanks in advance!

I'm visiting Chicago weekend after next for a tradeshow. I'm looking specifically for IPA, Pale Ales, sours, and Pilsners. Unfortunately staying down in Magnificent Mile, from what I've seen and heard options are quite limited in downtown Chicago. Any recommendations on breweries in the area?
I will probably have sometime in the evenings to trek out to North Chicago, Wrigley area. I'm seeing a lot more options up there! I've only been to Brewed by Giants the last couple of times I visited but hoping to explore a bit more this time around.
Side note: if a brewery has good food too that would be awesome as then I can expense it to the company LOL
Who has a good local Dunkel??
I love a dunkel. Hirter Morchl is probably my favorite that drifted through the suburbs, but my other go-tos are Warsteiner and Erdinger. These days it can be hard to find Warsteiner, there will be bare shelves for the dunkel but the pils will be stacked and sometimes fill the dunkel shelf space. Does anyone have any other recommendations for a Chicago/Midwest/US dunkel?
