home on the mend from bronchitis today and wanted to try my hand at some clothes for my new boy Squid. I just bought a sewing machine and have literally no other experience but I’m a fast learner and artistically minded so I’m hoping to just whip something up. Not necessarily looking for patterns but just ideas of what the clothes for your babies look like. Basically I’m looking for ideas on rear leg sleeves and attachment points. Also ideas for fabric, I have lots of secondhand clothes I’d like to reuse - comfortable but breathable, and to prevent hair tangling or irritating, no fleece as I live in the desert! Don’t need to keep him super warm for now but he’s an anxious little man and I think he would feel more secure. Any pics or advice welcome!

P.S. belly band is because he doesn’t know yet that Dad’s bed is not for peeing (or pooping). No shame little buddy, you’ll learn! The harness is just for desensitization as he is not yet used to leash walking. He only wears it in short increments. Overall he is doing great for leaving his family at eight months and being here only a few short days (while I was super sick! Came down with a chest cold the morning after getting him, on Monday)

Hi all! Not a new dog owner, and am getting this handsome man at eight months as a companion for my almost-two year old rescue mutt who always gets mistaken for a PPCC (last pic). I got her at the same age about a year ago but didn’t know she was quite that young at the time! If I could do it again I would be more understanding of her adolescence and fear periods, I just didn’t know at the time. I also have a cat and a 45lb border collie / aussie mix (second pic - I’m going to have a matching set haha). Any advice would be awesome, thanks!

thanks all for the advice earlier. today’s trip did not go according to plan in the slightest. but we are safe and home and my boy is so sweet and I love him so much already. Here’s to a long happy life Mr. Squid

I have a hairless CC, but I just adopted a powder puff and I would like to get a good groomer for her. She is 6 years old and has a partial shave in back and long hair in front. Any advice on finding a groomer? I live near Dallas.

My boy is a puncher. Is this normal for the breed or does he hang out too much with my cat😭
I used to have a boxer before this. Raised by cats so im not complaining im used to this behaviour im just curious lmao bc these other dogs were extremely confused

She's 10 weeks old and full of piss and vinegar that's for sure. I'm just glad my 3 yr old Crested actually likes her!

My coworker wanted some practice dogs to try new dye looks on for her portfolio. This is what she came up with for my Annie girl. She is loving her Rainbow dash inspired look. She is a powderpuff girl but due to our weather being hotter than the surface of the sun she is currently rocking a pony cut done by mom.

She bravely defends citizens from evildoers. Also from possums. Mostly possums.

She was pink and purple but it was fading out (pastel looks good on her too!) and the groomer touched her up with some pet safe color. I really like this look too!

Hi. We taped my Jeff’s ears when he was little. However, his ears are generally droopy (but erect and expressive at times). I’ve kept his ear hair long, but now I’m wondering if he’d be cute with shorter ear hair and his longer mane. Do any of you have your droopy-eared Cresteds cut this way?

My tiny hairless baby Cosmo, is a rescue and my best friend. This year we have started training with Cosmo and all of his trainers have strongly recommended the slip lead, pictured above, he had only ever worn harnesses before. While I have seen huge improvements with his behavior, he still often lunges towards big dogs, choking himself against the lead.

Obviously, all of the CC groups recommend harnesses, but I’ve found those can chafe his armpits or encourage pulling.

Would love any recs for these sensitive little ones. I’ve thought of a satin-lined martingale? Thanks I appreciate you reading 💕

First of all, meet Yzma, our new Chinese crested we got from a rescue about a month ago.

The rescue said she was 8-12 mo. and was rescued from a “breeder situation” with few details beyond that. She had been spayed somewhat recently. Once we got her, we took her to the vet, who said she was 12-18 mo. I questioned why her breasts and lady bits were slightly swollen, and the vet said it could be from when she was spayed if she was in heat at the time.

After these weeks and after feeling her incision, which is quite large and very prominent (to touch), I somewhat suspect she was used as a breeder despite being so young. Are Chinese crested breasts normal this puffy/stretchy? Should I be concerned?

Does this happen to anyone else? Lol. I don’t think folks are seeing enough hairless CCs because someone says this literally every single time he is in public. Us— “His hair grows like that naturally.”
