I can't stop chrome from using yahoo!

I need help! I've removed McAfee, removed suspicious extensions, checked my chrome shortcut properties, and ran a windows security scan. Chrome still automatically uses Yahoo to search the internet. How do I stop this!?

Website grows way too big for my Chrome browser window

I'm part of a group program that uses a LLM AI created for the program, very similar to ChatGPT. My issue is that the longer a conversation with the AI goes on, the larger the website becomes and it outgrows my Chrome browser window.

I am the only person having this issue. Multiple people using Chrome report no such problem (not sure how many are PC vs Mac though). I couldn't try it in Safari due to an error, but when I opened it in Firefox it did the exact same thing.

I have a Macbook Air running Monterey 12.4. My Chrome is up to date at Version 148.0.7778.179

Would appreciate any ideas at this point...

Only one of my computers has vertical tabs

Does anyone know why only one of my computers (MacBook Air) has vertical tabs, but the two other devices I use do not? They're all using the same version of Chrome and it's up to date. (I know I can enable it in the flags, but I'm specifically asking about the default enabled version.)

What are your most used shortcuts?

Chrome has a lot of shortcuts for navigation and actions. Curious to know what people are using the most.

Here are mine -

  1. Reopen closed tab/window (cmd + shift + t) - lifesaver a lot of times!
  2. close tab (cmd + w)
  3. Add to bookmark (cmd + d)

Intermittent Chrome Download Issue

Approx. 4 times out of 5 I cannot download anything. I hit a download button, or link, or right-click, and absolutely nothing happens. If I'm quick enough, Chrome *thinks* it has a dialogue open, and pings me, but comes back to life so fast it's like it didn't happen.

Doesn't matter the website; Google Drive, Install kits from Git hub, my bank statements, whatever.

I have tuned off Safe Browsing, cleared my cache (multiple time!), disabled all my extensions, restarted my machine. Killed all my chrome instances. None of these quick fixes solves the problem. Annoyingly, sometimes it appears that they do, but that is simply because the issue is - like I said - intermittent. Eventually a download will succeed, then often I get a few good goes, but usually it stops again after a couple. The worst I had (this is my record) was a bank statement that took about 20 attempts.

Interestingly, when I tried to download multiple files from G-Drive, the Zipping process runs, the total is displayed, the green circle indicates that phase was successful at the back end, and then ....... nothing.

It is becoming very frustrating.

Chrome version: Version 148.0.7778.168 (Official Build) (64-bit)

i5 processor, 6 cores
16Gb memory

OS: Win11 Home
Version: 10.0.22631 Build 22631
running off a 500Gb SSD

Antivirus is AVG*Free.

I also have a 250 SSD, and a 6Tb NAS.

And - just because someone will complain that I haven't provided enough information - I have 3 screens, I am right-handed, my office faces east, I had 2 boiled eggs and a mandarin for lunch today and I like cats.

Guys did Gemini change its font just now, or is it just me?

It was lagging, so I reloaded it, and the font changed and became slightly smaller.

Google added a new Ask AI button on every website's footer, how do I disable it?

See the screenshot. I don't want the stupid button to take that much of my screen and appear every time I scroll through a website trying to read something in peace. Any way to disable it? I can't seem to find anything about it.

Login to Windows, stuck at Google Performance Helper screen?

Anyone experience this at all this week? Had this happen to me a few times. On different machines as well.

Opening task manager and killing the chrome process helps bypass this so I could get to my desktop.

How can I disable the new AI ask on Chrome browser?

It's happening on all websites I visit even when switched to Desktop view.

I'm guessing this an update that occurred recently. It's an eyesore that I would greatly appreciate helping in removing/disabling.

I think it got fixed, but I am not sure?

So, a couple days ago, I kept getting the Status Access problems, like most of us were, but today, when testing it on my computer, and after doing a fresh reinstall, I think it may be fixed... I'm not entirely sure, though.

Chrome on android caches old pdf versions, making it impossible to get the latest release

Im finding when a website has a pdf up for download, and it goes through a revision and gets updated from say 1.0 to 1.1, chrome agressively defaults to a cached 1.0 version on android.

Clearing my phones full cache used to fix this, as did force downloading the pdf and opening it from my downloads folder.

Both of those things recently stopped working, and i can no longer get the latest version on mobile.

Have validated on desktop there is no issue with the website. I have a samsung s22, and everything is fully updated.

How do i stop this nonsense? I need this feature for both my job and table top games i play in my spare time.

Constant Status Access Violations

https://preview.redd.it/m57whiehcq1h1.png?width=997&format=png&auto=webp&s=38e9f7e6c98a2f8a627bdc0aaf9f19b54cf969cd

Heyo, I keep going to different webpages and getting this error. It won't happen all the time, just kind of randomly.

I cleared cookies and cache, reinstalled Chrome, checked my drivers and such (all good there).

I'm very much at a loss for what to do here. I'm not having internet connectivity issues and I checked Avast so there's no firewall issues either or conflicts with the antivirus.

I started getting this issue after the 2026-05 Security Update / 2026-05 .NET Framework Security Update. I'm unsure if I should roll these updates back or not to check.

Any other ideas, or anyone else having similar issues?

How do I get rid of this search bar?

So I have a search bar I have no idea what it came from and what it's set too I can remove it. I've tried tapping and hiking for setting and wall paper and themes as well as look into widget settings. If I add a Google search like it's shown in the second image then it just add it amoung the other widgets and not the search bar like I used to have it in the third preview of what I want it to look like.
