Dispute Evidence

I have a dispute with a merchant and citi has received a response from the merchant which basically said they provided the services they were supposed to. That isn’t true and I have evidence with photos.

My issue is, how can I attach photos and an email exchange I had with the merchant to the citi dispute ? I looked at the dispute center and simple can’t find a way to add the e additional info. Anybody ? Thanks

Current/former Citi employees – VP (Technology) culture & bonus structure

I’ve received an offer for VP app support in Citi Canada and would love to hear from current or former employees before making my decision.

A few questions:
How is the overall culture within citi technology at the VP level?
What’s the work-life balance like?
How is the leadership and management culture?
My current workplace has a guaranteed bonus >=15%,How does the VP bonus structure work? Is there a typical target percentage, and how have bonuses generally paid out over the last few years?
Are raises and promotions reasonable?
Overall, would you recommend Citi as a long-term place to build a career in technology?
I’d really appreciate any honest insights.

Thanks in advances

Citibank is awful

I'm travelling internationally, and Citi blocked access to my account. It's impossible to regain access, even though I can provide sms code, SSN, transaction history, and any other security questions. The ONLY option that the supervisor has provided is to wait for the US mail to my home address in the US (remember, I'm travelling). I asked him - Does he understand that I'm unable to receive the mail now? He said yes, but that's the only option. If you travel internationally, don't use Citi. You'll regret this.

Email to file a complaint on Local Branch

Is there an email address or a way send a send a message online to file a complaint against a local branch in my area? I called the 800 number right after I left the bank but I don’t trust that the person who took the complaint understood what was going on because since Citibank outsources its call center the communication wasn’t that great.

Citi Personal Wealth is Scamming Me for 10k! (Warning)

I’m pretty freaked out and pissed off about this, and I want to warn people and see if anyone’s seen something similar.

I’ve had a Citi Personal Wealth Management (Pershing) brokerage account for 20+ years. Boring setup: one mutual fund, dividends and cap gains on automatic reinvestment. No margin, no options, no loans, no active trading.

In 2023, Pershing says the IRS told them the SSN/TIN on my account didn’t match. I’ve used the same SSN my entire adult life, file every year, never had an IRS problem, and I’ve been with Citi for decades, so this sure looks like Citi/Pershing messing up my SSN in their system, not me. The mismatch apparently started in May 2023, but I didn’t get an actual notice letter about it until March 2025. In 2026 they had me sign a new W‑9, and now my account is “certified” again — basically confirming they finally fixed their own records.

Because of the mismatch, they started 24% backup withholding on my fund distributions and reporting that as federal income tax withheld on my 1099‑DIVs. That part is normal: it’s tax, and it goes to the IRS. The problem is what they did inside the account. From what I can see, instead of just reinvesting the after‑tax amount, they were reinvesting the full gross distribution into the fund and also withholding 24% for tax. Since there wasn’t extra cash to cover the withholding, my cash balance went negative. Then their system treated that negative cash like a loan / margin‑type debit and started charging interest around 12–13%. Over time this snowballed into roughly a $10k “cash debit” balance.

I have never signed a margin agreement. My online docs don’t show one. My account screen shows zero margin buying power. Yet Citi is now pressuring me to “pay off” this 10k negative balance as if it’s a real loan I took out. But the “loan” is basically just the tax they already withheld and sent to the IRS due to an SSN error on their side, plus the way they chose to process automatic reinvestment.

Has anyone run into anything like this with Citi/Pershing or any other broker — where backup withholding plus reinvestment quietly turns into a loan or margin debit with double‑digit interest even though there’s no margin agreement on file? I’d really appreciate any thoughts, especially from people in brokerage ops/compliance, and I hope this is a heads‑up to anyone with reinvested distributions and backup withholding to check your cash balance and interest charges.

New Citibank Checking Rules charging Service Fee

I have been a customer for nearly 30years. My checking account always maintained a minimum balance of $2k. Now Citi charges $15 per month. The only time it’s waived is if I have $250 direct deposits.

I don’t have any direct deposit but deposit $3k checks. But I am still charged $15. This is crazy.

Why did you change the rules as such??? It’s dumb

Any help for identity Theft of deceased father Catch 22?

My mother recently received a letter from Citi for her late husband/my father, in regards to Citi ThankYou Mastercard JetBlue Points changes.

The problem is my father died three years ago and all his credit card accounts were closed upon his death and he also never had a Citi ThankYou Mastercard.

The second problem is I tried calling ThankYou Service Center and told them it seems a criminal is stealing my late father's identity and my mom's new apartment address (father never lived there, he died before she moved there). Customer service said they cannot help since we don't have the full credit card number (the letter only listed the last 4 digits) and the criminal didn't use my father's social security number (just his name and my mom's apartment address).

Why can't Citi bank look up the name or address and close the fraudulent account? Can anything be done? Thank you.

Potential Class-Action

Has anyone here ever been hit with late fees / interest fees even though you swore you paid in on time? I had an interesting series of incidents as a user and i have a feeling this is one of those shady practices banks do.

Citi Travel won’t refund my reservation even though hotel refunded booking.com/their partner

I booked a two day reservation through Citi travel to use the Citi Strata Elite credit. There are thunderstorms and a heat dome so I asked the hotel to cancel a nonrefundable reservation. They agreed and canceled on their end.

My reservation appeared as a booking.com reservation in their system and when they cancelled it, the virtual card on booking.com gets refunded. Since I thought booking.com got their money back, I asked Citi to refund me but they said booking needs an email confirmation that it was refunded. They said they send an email and the hotel has a “confirm” button. I called the hotel 3x, citi has called the hotel and booking.com called the hotel 3 times also. They won’t share the details with me but the front desk said she manually sent an email to booking at the email they specified and they never received any emails from booking although they get them from Expedia. Booking can’t help me without the booking ID between Citi and booking.com, Citi said they can’t see the details of the reservation like the number or the email address, they can only send more emails the hotel never receives.

I got laid off and won’t have income for awhile so this would really help to get the credit back. Is there anything else I can try? It seems like a scam to keep people’s money

CITIBANK scam

I almost got sucked into a deep fraud with someone posing as Citibank employee. Husband and I got separate calls from the same number alerting us to fraudulent charges. None of our main cards are Citibank or Citigroup but we have had department store cards with Citi. Didn't call the number they left, thought I was being smart and went to the Citibank site and got the number there. https://www.citigroup.com/global/universal and that was also the scammers. The number they had posted to call (1.888.742.0607) is the scammers! He told me it was a Best Buy card, gave me the last 4 digits of the card (we don't have an active BB card) and said it was $450 worth of charges.

All still seemed plausible, then he started to talk to me slowly and carefully, like I was new to computers, and wanted me to go the the site to download Ultraviewer, at which point I realized I was in the middle of the scam! Legitimate bank/credit card calls will never ask you to download software that gives them control of your computer or the ability to see your files.

They are getting more and more sophisticated. Everyone keep your eyes peeled and if you are in the call, you have every right to slow it down and do a quick Google search to see if what you are doing is WRONG for you.

Hey Citibank, maybe you want to look into this. This is the fake page:

Citi Bank App

Has anyone else been unable to login to the citi mobile app on iPhone or website?

It keeps saying, system is experiencing temporary delays or there was a problem with the app.

I’ve had to call to make payments the last 2 months and I’m starting to get annoyed.

lay offs

For those who received notice…when can you collect unemployment in NY? is it after the 90 day notice period

but before or after you get the severance check? if the severance check is for 12 weeks, do I really have to wait before filing for unemployment? I’ve heard yes and no from some. Thanks!

Final interview response time

Hey everyone. I complete my final round interview for markets quantitative analyst internship 2027 on 6/16. The Recuriter mentioned that this will be the last batch for 2027 and I was wondering how long I should expect to wait for them to get back to me.

I checked workday and it says “business review.” The case study and behavioral interview went very well and the technical was a little messy, but I made it through. I was only unable to answer 1-2 questions.

Given all of that, is it possible to expect an offer as well? I might just be overthinking, but if anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated!

Destroying my credit rating

Let me Begin by saying that I've been a customer with them for more than 20 years and that the last two months I have had bills of 7K and 5K that I completely paid off. however I was one day late with my credit card payment and they slashed my overall credit limit in half. I called all of them to complain and get the escalating it and have been told I have to wait at least 3 to 6 months and then if I continue to have an excellent record of payment, that I can then request a credit increase. in the meantime my FICO score is going to go into the toilet because my credit did that ratio is going to skyrocket.

Has this happened to anyone else and what can I do to get my credit limit set back to what it used to be?

Worst Financial Institution Ever

After the Barclays to Citi migration cluster which consisted of me not having a card for 3 months, getting shit customer service, and being charged lates fees when I couldn’t even log in and didn’t even get a card, I shut down my account. Not dealing with this bullshit. As with all credit cards, there cannot be a closure of account without full payment, which was handled.

8 DAYS LATER - I have Citibank calling me from Collections multiple times of day. I answer and ask why they are calling as the account is closed. They have no answers. They have no answers and claim the system just dialed my number and they don’t have the details.

This financial institution is an abomination. There is something seriously fucking wrong with this company.
They confirmed my account is closed.
