I finally got an interview for a new position after getting laid off early June.

I know I know I have Stockholm syndrome but citi took care of me lol. No job offer yet but I’ll edit this thread as updates come. I hope all of my fellow citi employees who got laid off recently find similar luck. For anybody who was a recent lay off and got rehired please share your experience too if you don’t mind.

Combine Thank You Points on Brand New Card

Tonight I opened up a new Citi Strata Premier Card in order to combine that account with my Citi Double Cash Back Card in an effort to take advantage of the 1:1 transfer ratio (and current ongoing 20% bonus) for a transfer of points into Flying Blue miles. While my card was instantly approved and shows up in the online Citi portal and my Mobile App, I am unable to tie the two accounts together because I do not have the 16 digit card number.

I called customer service and she said she couldn't combine the accounts until I have the physical card and activate it OR wait for an email. However, I am dubious as to this second path because from my research, Citi will not send the 16 digit card number via email. I am also skeptical that I will get another email other than the generic "Congrats you're approved and wait 10 days for your card to show up" I received.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have until 8/22 until the Flying Blue bonus ends. Wish I would have started this 5 days ago!

Thank you!

Interview Process

I have my first interview for a corporate banking senior associate role at Citi coming up. The role is based in NYC. Does anyone here know how long the interview process takes? I am asking because my first interview is with the VP of the group (does that mean I’m farther along in the process?) and also because I’m in the final stages at a few other firms and hopefully should be hearing back soon so I want to know how long the process takes in case I have to put other offers on hold. Thank you.

Application under recruiter review for about 1 week

Hello, I applied to a corporate banking analyst position a couple of weeks ago and have been under recruiter review for about a week. I have not heard back or received any type of update or preliminary interview, is it safe to say my application is no longer being considered?

Calculation of days in office

So last week we had a team meeting and our boss stressed that we’re supposed to be in the office 3 days a week. Does anyone know how exactly those 3 days are counted? Like, can I badge in at 11am, leave at 12pm and still have it count as an office day? Or is there some minimum number of hours you need to stay? Specifically for the Dublin office if you know it.

I have social anxiety and sitting around people in a big open-plan office genuinely makes me nauseous, so I’m just trying to figure out what the actual requirement is. I’m still productive just hate going the office but I’ll do what needs to be done, just want to know how it works.

Unethical Hiring and Firing practices

Citi's hiring system is broken and filled with fake job listings. Internal managers and HR staff are actively rigging the recruitment process. The bottom line is that #American workers are being left behind. Job seekers waste time on pointless, "courtesy" interviews just so companies can hit metrics before hiring favored insiders. Worse, third party contracting companies and offshore employees/contractors now hold total control over the #Citi bank's projects. Local employees are being laid off in large numbers, while immigrant visa holders are largely spared. This unfair treatment hurts our society and demands immediate intervention from the Department of Labor - #DOL, #USCIS, and the Department of Homeland Security - #DHS.

how long did it take to hear back?

Had my final interview with Citi on 7 Aug. The interview went well, and I followed up with HR on mail, but haven’t heard back yet. For those who interviewed with Citi recently, how long did it take to hear back? Do they usually send a rejection email if there’s no further progress?

No product change option for Citi AA Platinum Select converted from Barclays

My Barclays AA card was opened about a year ago with 1st year annual fee waiver. It was converted to Citi Porfolio a few months ago.

the $99 annual fee just got billed on this cycle and I really want to keep a Citi Card. I asked for product change but the agent said no options available. Anyone had successful experience before for product change of barclays-converted card?

Citi Strata Premier: applied but under review

So I applied for CSP on 13 Aug. It pre-approved me for the card, so I went ahead with a hard pull. It then went into the dreaded review saying I should expect something in 7-10 days.

I called the next day, and it felt like they needed verification with questions like, "did you apply for the card?", "which city do you live in" etc. Once I verified again, they said this is now with a special team and I could call back after 24 hours to check on its status.

So I called again the next day (15 Aug), and they again asked me for "did you apply?", "what device did you use?", "were you physically at the address while applying?" and such. After all of this, they still said it'll be 5-7 days before I heard back anything!

It's frustrating. I had a small trip coming back in a week and I thought I'd hit the SUB comfortably, but I completely underestimated how slow Citi can be.

Does anybody have tips to expedite the process?

CITIBANK sent $63,000 of my money to a P.O. Box in a different state

Quick stats:

  • Days I haven’t had my money: 66
  • Calls to Citi customer service: 18
  • Total time on phone with Citi (including holds): 8hr 49m

It started with me trying to make a wire transfer for the downpayment on a house. The money was in a Citi savings account, and their online wire transfer page didn’t have enough fields for what the Escrow company needed. I called Citi customer service for help and got their automated phone system. The conversation went something like this: (quotes are paraphrased and/or from memory)

>[Citi]: Welcome to Citi…please tell me in a few words what you need, or choose from the following options.
>
>[A couple of minutes verifying myself, wrestling with endless menu options, and trying to talk to a human]
>
>…finally…
>
>[Me]: I need to talk to a representative to get help making a wire transfer.
>
>[Citi]: OK, what kind of transfer do you want to make?
>
>[Me]: A wire transfer.
>
>[Citi]: OK, your Citi Accelerate Savings, ending in XXXX. The available balance in that account is $XX,XXX.XX. Is that the account you want to transfer money from? You can say Yes or No.
>
>[Me]: Yes.
>
>[Citi]: How much would you like to pay?
>
>[Me]: $63,xxx.xx
>
>[Citi]: You want to transfer $63,xxx.xx from your Citi Accelerate Savings account…
>
>[Me]: Yes.
>
>[Citi]: …to your MasterCard Account, right?...
>
>[Me]: No!
>
>[Citi]: …You can say Yes or No.
>
>[Me]: No. No. No!
>
>[Citi]: OK, done.
>
>[Me]: No! Stop! No!
>
>[Citi]: The confirmation number is XXXXXX, would you like to hear that again? You can say Yes or No.

They had transferred the money to my Citi Double Cash credit card. Over the next 24 hours I called various Citi departments 5 more times, spending around 2 hours on the phone trying to get the transfer reversed. All they could tell me was that I would have to wait for an investigation that would take 7-10 business days and only then could they reverse the transfer.

10 days later, I called back to see how the investigation was going. Same deal. They couldn’t find an investigation, so they started one and asked me to wait 7-10 business days.

30 days after the original mistake, I saw a $63k debit from my (ridiculously positive) credit card balance with the description “REFUND PROCESS”. Yay!

50 days after the mistake, the refund hasn’t appeared yet. I call again. “We sent a check to your address on file. Since you haven’t received it, I’ll open an investigation that will take 7-10 business days.” I’m out of town with a hold on my mail, so I don’t actually know if the check has arrived or not.

57 days after the mistake, I’m back home. I check my mail and there’s no check. I call in and they say “We sent a check to your address on file and it looks like the check has been cashed.” I pressed for details and managed to find out that they sent the check to a P.O. Box in Texas. (I don’t live in Texas.) I tell her this and she says that there is an ongoing investigation from my previous call, so I should wait 7-10 business days from the date of that call and then call back. She promises to put a note on the investigation to expedite the investigation.

62 days after the mistake, I call back to check on the investigation. After over 2 hours of waiting on hold, they tell me the investigation is ongoing and still within the 7-10 business day window, and to call back later.

63 days after the mistake, I call back. They say that there is no investigation, and claim that I received and endorsed the check but that they can’t give me any details about it. I escalate to a supervisor who also can’t tell me anything but who says he will open a new investigation and that I need to wait 7-10 business days for the investigation to complete.

64 days after the mistake, I call back and I’m told that the investigation was only opened “today” and that I need to wait 7-10 business days. This supervisor was more helpful than the last one, and was able to tell me the dates that the check was sent out and cashed.

66 days after the mistake (today). I just received my first written communication from Citi about the incident. It says,

>“As requested, we’ve looked into the status of the refund check we sent you for your Citi Double Cash Mastercard account. The check has been cashed and appears to have been endorsed by you. We’ve enclosed a copy of the refund check for your review.”

Attached is a scan of a check for $63,xxx.xx made out to a corporation that’s not me, with the back showing that it was deposited electronically into their Wells Fargo account.

Pure speculation:

My own research suggests the company that received my check is a fintech corporation. Maybe Citi contracts with to handle their in-house credit card payments? I assume that Citi accidentally grabbed their name and address instead of mine when they went to make out the refund check. (There’s nothing on the check indicating that it was to be forwarded on to me, and it's been nearly a month since the company deposited the check.) The dates between the check issue and deposit make it look like the corporation held it for about a week and then shrugged and deposited it.

Citi Preapproval is now in the application too

I clicked apply for the strata elite last night and it told me I could apply without a hard pull and know if I was approved, similar to the amex know before you apply feature. I forgot to screenshot, but I was denied, so I tried the double cash today. Nice of Citi to catch up on approval features like Amex. I did screenshot the dc application.

Note: This is separate from the preapproval tool. This is built into the application itself

How do I change my legal name on my Citibank credit card account?

I got my Citibank credit card when I was freshly 18-19. Being the dumbass that I am, I have since neglected to update the information on my account throughout the years.

My Citibank credit card account has the wrong legal name, wrong phone number, and incorrect address.

How do I call and get this changed without them thinking I'm a scammer/fraud?

Which do I attempt to change first?

I have amassed legal documents that prove who I am and that i am the rightful owner of this account still. I just need to get it to their customer service department somehow.

Trying to get a security code and they're making me answer questions about people I don't know?

It's already weird I have to talk to customer service to do this, but then they started asking about my driver's license number, which I never gave them, so that was weird at first. Then they asked which state someone I don't know owns property in. It's someone with the last name pronounced the same as me, but spelled differently. I got the question wrong then they asked if I wanted to do the balance transfer over the phone, which after that phone call, felt sketchy as fuck. What is going on with Citi?

Can't log Into Citibank app, Almost 3 months since last login

Hello all,

I use Citibank exclusively for the Costco credit card, but have been unable to login to the app since mid may (I called then, was told there is a small outage affecting a small amount of their members). I continually get a message of "our system is experiencing temporary delays. Please try again later." I get this message when I try to log onto a browser on my phone or my computer. My card is close to maxed out (I failed to track purchases for a few months after my wife and I lost our daughter). I am wondering if anyone else has been locked out of their account for that long. It's certainly been making it harder to stay on top of my account.

American Airlines cc moved from Barclays to CITI - worst customer service

Never received new card from CITI. Old Barclays card was going to expire 8-1-26 so I asked for a new card to be mailed to me. They refused and would not tell me why. I had to apply for a brand new card. I got the new card and it wouldn’t allow for certain charges to go through. I had to call because the card didn’t work - no one called me. I was told it was fixed. Next day same thing. No one in customer service helps and they don’t know what the app shows when they try to walk you through it. Absolutely disgusted and mad I have to deal with CITI to get my AA miles.

Citi sent me a fraud alert text when I tried to buy beach chairs at Sam’s Club, but…

I log into my account today to make a payment and see that my available credit is -$2,245.00 because someone used my card to make more than 60 Venmo transfers (not my Venmo account) between $15 and $288 and two transfers for $2,888 without a single alert.

Thanks for double checking with me on the beach chairs, I guess.

Leaving Citi Soon - Does Annual Bonus Pay Out?

I am currently a Personal Banker in a Citibank in California and am planning on leaving my current role to pursue an opportunity elsewhere. I am planning on giving a proper two weeks notice but I was curious as to my annual bonus.

I do not have a copy of my initial offer letter from Citi from when I joined, so I am not sure if there was anything related to my bonus but from what I have seen online about bonuses in general (not Citibank in particular), is that they don't get paid out if they are discretionary. However, non-discretionary bonuses that are tied to a program or goal are to be paid out. In this scenario, our bonus depends on NPS/Customer Satisfaction scores YTD, Audit Score (Already had our audit), and YTD performance up to August.

Bonuses are not paid out til February of the following year, but some of my coworkers who have left mentioned getting paid more (no paystub is provided to confirm extra payments). Can anyone speak on this matter?
