Which one should I get?

I can't decide I love both, I'm leaning towards the Panzer IV because I've been wanting to see the turret on the panther hull yet I'm also leaning towards the wirbelwind because its unique and it looks absolutely awesome

Got the Tirpitz for 120€

Got the Tirpitz for around 120€ (~137$ USD) today at my local Cobi seller in Germany cause they sadly have to close the Shop, also there are 3 more Sets I bought before that I still have to build and add to the collection but I couldnt pass on the ship for that price. This is also the First ship in my collection 🚢

Is there a real historical reference for the new limited-edition M18 camouflage?

'Cause I can't find any. There are photos of regular olive Hellcats, a few photos of Hellcats with a complete white winter paint-over, and photos of olive Hellcats covered with patches of snow or covered with layers of snow and frost. But not a single one of a Hellcat with an olive-and-white camouflage pattern.

Did COBI make it up just to make the set look more aesthetically interesting? Or are the white bricks and pieces supposed to represent patches of snow and frost rather than actual camouflage? Or am I missing something?

Another one resident into my shelves.

This came out to look better, then I thought. The build was pretty straight forward, but there were a few perplex parts when doing bag no.3. The two back parts of the airframe. To be honest I was kinda tired at that point of the build, so I just probably confused myself unintentionally.

The "tool" Cobi gives to insert the locking pins on the display struts had a bit too tight tolerances. It held the pins well, but when you tried to pull the tool from the pin, then the pin just came with it. No worries though... A few rounds around the tool's inner wall with a hobby knife or box cutter will loosen it up.

Trying to seat the pilot almost made my head explode. It is just not possible without blu-tack. Also you have to put the pilot in a semi vertical position so you can fully close the canopy. I've heard, that the canopy in most cases can't be closed for a reason or another, but I didn't have this problem.

I also can recommend a window cleaning spray to clean the fingerprints of your models. Just don't spray it directly to the model. Damben the cloth and carefully swipe the model. Remove any excess liquid with a dry cloth.

Overall I loved the build and I'll give it 8,5/10.

Cool looking model and a fun build.

I can absolutely recommend it.

Starting my first 1:28 set...

...and likely my only one. I'm a 1:35 guy, but these things were so massive in reality that the scale difference won't matter to me.

Scaling Reworks

Had this idea for awhile inspired by another redditor. Given Cobi's wonkiness of scaling in older sets, I decided to rework my old Shermans to match the newer M4A3 in 1:28 scale. So far, I updated my Sherman Jumbo, which just needed hull and mantlet widening, and a slight rear hull rework, and my WoT M4, which I originally had modified to an M4A1, which needed widening, hull rework, and turret rebuild. Next in my list is my M4A3E8, which needs an almost total overhaul. Last pics show the two reworks with the M4A3 for comparison.
