Pathetic HRs of Cognizant😡

Guys most of us are waiting from 3 months to 8 months with LOI... I just can't understand what the hell are they doing literally can't they atleast give the OL and Doj even if it is in a future date!? I understand that it takes them to align with projects and business needs. But if they continue like this.. probably every LOI received people would go chase for other jobs and leave this. So what's the point here? They just keep hiring again and again! I think that's why exactly they're hiring more Analyst Trainees now.

Helpppp

Hello everyone,

I am currently working as a PAT and have been part of a toxic project for the past year. I would like to get released from this project and move to a better opportunity internally.

Could anyone guide me on the steps I should follow after getting released? Also, what should I do to get a project after getting released from this project...

Cognizant CIS business practice

I received the LOI on Feb 9th, and today I got an email asking me to fill out a survey form. However, I was selected for the PAT role, but in this email they mentioned something about the CIS business practice. So, I’m confused about what actually this role is about.

Cognizant GenC PAT LOI doubt regarding CIS Business Practice mail

Hi everyone,

I received a Cognizant GenC LOI for the Programmer Analyst Trainee (PAT) role with 4 LPA a few months back. Today I received another mail titled:

“Next step for your onboarding: Cognizant CIS Business Practice Opportunity”

The mail says they are inviting us to explore an opportunity in the CIS Business Practice and attached a JD for:
Engineer Trainee – Multicloud.

It also asks to fill a survey form before the deadline confirming willingness to proceed with this role.

My confusion is:

I only want to continue with the original Programmer Analyst Trainee (PAT) role and I am not interested in switching to the Multicloud/Infra support role.

So if I:

  • do not fill the form
  • or select “not interested”

will Cognizant reject/cancel my original PAT LOI or onboarding process?

Did anyone already confirm this with HR or get any official clarification?

Would really appreciate any help from people who received the same mail.

Help y'all

Hey everyone, looking for some genuine career guidance here.

I'm 21M, based in Andhra Pradesh. I currently work as a Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Post Master (GDS BPM) in the Indian postal department. For those who don't know what that means, it's basically running a small post office branch single handedly with targets for PLI, RPLI, IPPB accounts, SB/RD/TD accounts and more. The pay is modest and the workload is honestly overwhelming for what it pays.

My qualifications:

\- BCA graduate

\- Currently pursuing MBA on the side

\- No prior IT work experience

\- Basic Python knowledge (self-learning)

The situation:

I recently gave an interview at Cognizant for a Service Desk role and I'm waiting for results. If I get the offer I'm seriously considering leaving my government job and joining.

My concern is that I have no IT experience and I'd be starting completely from scratch at service desk level. But staying at GDS until my promotion exam eligibility in 2030 also feels unsustainable.

Questions I have:

  1. Is service desk at a company like Cognizant a decent starting point for a BCA graduate with no IT experience?

  2. How realistic is it to move from L1 service desk to L2 or analyst roles within 2 years?

  3. Is leaving a government job for a service desk role a bad idea long term?

  4. Any certifications I should prioritize early on — I've heard ITIL is a good start?

Any advice from people who have been in similar situations would be really helpful. Especially from anyone who started at service desk and managed to grow from there.

Thanks in advance.

Is notice period is on only 1 month until one year?

Hi, I'm a PAT.

I will complete 1 year in November so until my Notice Period will be of 1 month only?

I heard after 1 year, 3 month notice period starts. Is this true?

What happens after Final Evaluation? Can we go home? Bench, location, project allocation - need clarity

Hey everyone,

I'm a PAT at Cognizant Bangalore under the GenC FTE . My final evaluation is May end and I have a few questions that nobody seems to have clear answers to:

1.After final evaluation, are we required to stay in Bangalore or can we go back to our hometown while waiting for project allocation?

2.How does tap in/out work post eval — do we still need to report to office daily? Can we tap in/out from a different city office or just topup as wfh?

3.How long is the typical wait between final eval and actual project allocation for CIS freshers?

4.Location preference — has anyone successfully gotten their preferred city posting? Especially on medical/hardship grounds?

5.Is there a formal bench period for PATs post training or does it work differently compared to experienced employees?

My PG contract ends this month and I'm planning to vacate and go home after May 28 but not sure if that's allowed or what the official process is.

Would really appreciate inputs from anyone who's been through this recently. Thanks 🙏

Help me on getting placed in Cognizant

Hey guys!!

I have my Cognizant on-campus drive coming up in a few weeks or maybe months, and I’m totally confused about where to focus and prepare.

I have my communication round in 2 days, but I honestly have no idea what comes after that. Can anyone explain the rounds that usually happen in the Cognizant hiring process and how I should prepare for them?

Also, if anyone has already attended the drive, please share your tips, preparation strategy, and tricks that helped you crack it in an easier and legal way 😅.
