Why does Will seem so aloof towards Bram?

I'm at the start of Season 3, and I couldn't help noticing that Will has seemed very cold and uncaring towards Bram for most of the show. He shows love towards Gracie and Charlie regularly but only hugged Bram once. He wasn't desperate to bring Bram home when he was stuck at the labor camp, unlike how he was trying to find Charlie every chance he got. Seems like he only yells at Bram. Of course, Bram is very moody and argumentative himself so maybe that's it? I just find it odd. No spoilers though please.

The population of Earth, two years under occupation by Aliens

Based on the TV series Colony (2016-2018). The map shows the remaining population of Earth after it has been occupied for 2 years by a mostly unknown alien force, called "The Hosts" which control Earth's population through human collaborators who established a totalitarian world regime.

During the initial invasion, most of Earths major cities as well as thousands of smaller villages and towns were destroyed or depopulated, to bring the population to a controllable level with the remaining major cities being walled-off and designated "Colonies" which house the major part of the remaining population.

At the very beginning scientists in top fields were taken before the aliens came down!
