I’m pretty much sold on South Carolina, I mean it has a beautiful campus and strong academics, my only worry is Columbia, I’ve heard that it was more industrial rather than fun? I’m between Auburn University and South Carolina and the only thing holding me back about South Carolina is Columbia. Can you just explain what life in Columbia is actually like?

This morning I’m looking out my kitchen window and a Richland County sheriff pulls up and starts walking in my yard. I ask if I can help him and he asks me if Denise Smart lives here. I told him this house has been in my family for over 30 years and I don’t know who that is. As he walks away I ask is she missing or something? He said “someone” in the neighborhood was arguing with her and they think she lives in a house with palm trees in the yard. I just roll my eyes, shake my head and go enjoy my morning coffee. BTW this is Windsor Lake Park subdivision off Decker. Not known as a hotbed of crime. But it’s creeping in from down Hunt Club. If this wasn’t a family house I would be gone. Ok Denise heads up.

I am pretty new to this hobby and enjoy making decks, but I ain’t got no homies to test em out with. The most commander Ive been able to play has been duels or 3 peeps instead of 4. Just itching to try it out more.

Good afternoon everyone. Me (m23) and my girlfriend (f23) recently moved from Tallahassee, Florida to the Columbia area for a job I got. We really love the area so far, but don’t know anyone here. Wanted to make a post to find some new friends around our age in the area for us.

We’re both very outgoing and social. We love to go out to bars, try new restaurants, go thrifting, go see live music, or go out to parks. I play guitar and sing, and she loves doing crafts. We both read and like to play games in our free time at home. Both also big board and card game people.

If anyone else is new to town in the same boat as us, or has been here for a while and could use some new friends, we’d love for you to reach out. We can go out to a bar or cafe and play a game together while we get to know each other.

I am relocating to Columbia, SC for work and would love to know more about the area! I am a single woman living alone with her dog. Can anyone please suggest neighborhoods that are safer and dog friendly?

I’m finally leaving Columbia. I spent my whole undergrad and master here and finally got a job (in NY).

Fortunately I’m a pretty minimalistic person so don’t have much stuff. But unfortunately I don’t have that much boxes/storages containers for the stuff I have. I basically got all my belongings in two suit cases and two trash bags and two small boxes. However I don’t have another storage/container for kitchen supplies and I do have a good bit of that. Does anyone know where I can ask for some moving boxes?

I called and nobody really helped. Except for Publix in vista and I asked and they said they will set some boxes to the side for me tomorrow to pick up. Legendary

hi! 22f here trying to find different ways to meet people around here. i’ve lived here for like 10 years and feel like i can’t find anyone new which might be the case. but starting to feel like i’ll never meet anyone ever and it’s just boring. i’m involved in hobbies that have community and such and i still don’t really find anyone im interested in. it could be me, but i don’t want to put my self esteem into this. i’m fairly confident in myself and love myself and my looks and my personality. just curious if anyone had any ideas.

I have been looking for pet friendly apartments and our budget is about $1300-1400. Struggling to find anything without reviews of black mold 🙃
