Hi! My daughter and a few of her friends are going to the Kesha concert at Concord Pavilion in a couple of weeks and I've never been to the venue, and I'm not familiar with the area. I am hoping to drop them off and pick them up somewhere a little bit away from the actual parking area/venue, just so we don't get stuck in a major traffic jam. Is there an address/intersection you would recommend that would be easy for them to walk to, and easy for me to pick them up? I saw there is a Greek Orthodox church about a 5-minute walk away, but is that still in the thick of things, or would that be a good spot? Thanks for your advice!
Hi all, I tried searching for a similar post and didn’t find anything so I hope it’s ok to ask my own question. I’m wondering what are some of the favorite singular food items you have found in this area that keep you coming back? Do you have a favorite pastry or sweet that you like to treat yourself to once in a while? Is there a sandwich you need to have at least once a month? Are there some special items that you discovered as a hidden gem? I want to know the places and the things that people seek out on the regular.
For my purposes I want to limit the scope of this question to Walnut Creek, Concord, or Pleasant Hill. I know there are lots of great things around the bay but I’m mostly interested in what I can find within a short drive of those three locations. Thanks for your help. I hope to try many new delicious things.
Hi all! I’m (relatively) new to the area and am soliciting good barbershop recommendations in the Concord/Walnut Creek area.
Since moving from Dublin, I’ve kept going to my old spot - Dublin Corner Barbershop - an awesome place. But it’s just too far away to justify the drive now that I’m in Concord.
Any Recs for good quality service and reasonable prices? Thanks in advance.
Partially boarded up with a handwritten note on the door that says “Closed for renovations”. I was there a few days prior and there was no mention of closing. Hope the owners are okay.
New to area and would love recommendations on places to eat. Looking for a little bit of everything - but also any recommendations for Mexican food specifically would be great
Hi all!
I'm brand new to Reddit and thought it only made sense for my first post to be here.
Just wanted you all to be aware of my weekly local music show The Beat of Diablo on KVHS. It airs Sundays and Thursdays at 7pm. If you're in the west or north side of Diablo Valley, you can find it on the dial at 90.5 FM, otherwise you can stream it at KVHS.com
I showcase independent music of all genres, with an emphasis of what's new in the Bay. I've aired over 600 unique acts over these last 240 weeks, and am always adding new folx to the fold. If you've got music you'd like considered for airplay go to TheBeatofDiablo.com and click "submit music".
If you have an upcoming show in the East Bay that you'd like mentioned on air, you should know that I will need that information about two weeks in advance. The show is pre-recorded, usually on Wednesdays, with new episodes slated to air Sunday. Thursday is a rebroadcast.
If you live in Contra Costa County (outside of Concord and Clayton) you can get the show on community access television on Comcast 26.
OK, the obligatory show post is done.
Hey everyone, I'm running a stand-up comedy show at Epidemic Ales tomorrow night (friday) at 8pm. It's my second time running it and the first show was a ton of fun. I'm booking professional comedians from SF, Sac, etc to come out to Concord. I'll have a new lineup every month. This month I have 3 great comics coming out, and its free to attend. I'm hoping to build a community around the show to come by, hang out, and enjoy some laughs together. You can make a reservation here: Eventbrite. Would love to see any new faces there this month. Cheers!

Hello all. I’m in need of recommendations of talk therapists in contra costa county. I have Kaiser and have never had any success with connecting with someone who can actually help me. Any recommendations or resources would be greatly appreciated!
Just wanted to give a little shine to some excellent gems many Concordians don't know about!

This pop-up makes killer tri-tip sandwiches, smoked turkey, hot links, ribs, and more. They usually sprout up every other Saturday spring through fall.
Local musician Matt Xavier decided to launch his own brand of savory snacks, with $1 of every bag sold going to bat habitat preservation. Available in Wicked Cheddar and Hellfang Heat. He has a pop-up that makes appearances at local events, but he also distributes. I'm Concord, you can find bags at Epidemic Ales and Red Hat Sports Bar.
