Hi my self (30M, Hyderabad) with my wife planning to visit Coorg (if possible via covering Mysuru) from Bangalore on July 27th (can be July 26th also excluding Bangalore visit) Wanted to know if anyone has the same kind of trip planned. Looking for some suggestions on travel options. We are happy to join with any other family if they are willing to travel. This is the first time we are visiting Coorg (or any place in Karnataka)

Trip this weekend

Hi my friends and I are planning to come to coorg this weekend. The weather app shows 70-100% rain forecast tho 🥲
I read in a few threads that it rains for like 30 mins and stops but also it says flash flood warning online

Is it really that bad? or is it still fine to visit?

Family trip July End

Planning to visit Coorg end of July with senior parents, wife and our baby. Intent is relaxation in beautiful surroundings. Sightseeing not mandatory, but would be great if we could venture out on easy trails.

  1. We'll be landing in Mangalore. Should I rent a self-drive car or rely on a cab? (Decent driving experience but limited to city roads)

  2. Any suggestions for stays? Scenic outdoors and veg meals is the only priority.

  3. Planning to stay for 3 days, any suggestions on the next destination before we head back? By the ocean would be ideal.

Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance :)

A strange experience at a temple today that gave me goosebumps

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, but I wanted to share something that happened today because it genuinely moved me.

A while ago, while passing by a Bhadrakali Temple, I silently prayed about getting a job. I told God that if I got the job, I'd come back and make a small donation. Unfortunately, I wasn't shortlisted.

Even though my wish wasn't fulfilled, today I happened to pass by the same temple again. Suddenly I remembered the promise I had made. I felt that I should keep my word anyway, so I stopped my car and made that small donation.

Now here's what gave me goosebumps.

For the past few days, I've been thinking about starting to read the Bhagavad Gita. It kept coming to my mind, but I hadn't actually started.

Also, last year I had made another promise to Lord Tirumala (Balaji) that I would offer my hair at Tirupati.

When I got out of the car to make the donation, I noticed a picture of Lord Tirumala right there. I've passed that place many times over the years, and I honestly don't remember ever seeing that picture before.

Then, right beside the donation box, I saw a copy of the Bhagavad Gita.

At that moment, it felt like everything connected at once—the promise I had just fulfilled, my recent thoughts about reading the Gita, and seeing Lord Tirumala's picture.

Maybe it was a coincidence. Maybe it was God reminding me to stay on the spiritual path. I don't know.

All I know is that it gave me goosebumps and left me feeling peaceful.

Has anyone else had an experience like this where a series of events felt too meaningful to ignore?

Help us out!!

So we're visiting Coorg in the second week of July. If we somehow reach Madikeri by evening or night, can the four of us catch an auto or cab to The Hosteller Bam from there? Can we rely on local transport for that part?

Visiting Coorg in Mid-July – How Bad Is the Rain Really?

Hi Everyone,

I'm planning a short trip to Coorg around mid-July and wanted to get a realistic idea of what the weather is like during that time.

I've read mixed opinions online. Some people say the monsoon makes Coorg incredibly beautiful with lush greenery and waterfalls, while others mention that heavy rain can make sightseeing and getting around difficult.

I'd love to hear from locals or anyone who has visited Coorg in July: How intense is the rainfall typically?, Does it rain all day, or are there dry windows for sightseeing?, Are popular attractions usually accessible?, Any places, activities, or viewpoints that are worth skipping during the monsoon?, Anything you'd strongly recommend adding to the itinerary because of the rains?

Also, any tips on what to pack, road conditions, or things first-time visitors often overlook would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hidden gem in Coorg

Must visit place in Coorg.

I went to Coorg last month, I rented a bike on Day 1, met a couple of solo travellers.

Was thinking where to go and went here randomly. We were awe-stuck when we saw this place.

Such a peaceful place. Spent 4 hours just sitting, talking there.

Core memories. Coorg😍

Enroute to Tava Kaveri, there are several stops like this. Don't miss!

The Tree amidst Mist is a stop just before the temple entry, on the left side.

Best if it's raining or heavy clouds!

Correct - Tala Kaveri
