Biweekly house cleaning

Who do you use for your house cleaning and how much do they charge?

We'd like someone to come in for about 2-3 hours biweekly.

BC Provincials Track and Field 2026

Hi! I was a volunteer today at the BC Provincials Track and Field held in Coquitlam. I volunteered only because they encourage parents of participants to do so. However, I was so pleasantly surprised at the manners and gratitude of all the 14-18 year olds that I interacted with in a multitude of events I thought it worthy of a shout out. I keep seeing in the news how negative the latest generation can be and we should be worried but after today.....maybe the kids are alright?

Lost cat

I live in Coquitlam near brunette and Cayer street in Maillardville and my cat went missing around 1:30am on July 3rd, 2026. Her name is Genevieve and she’s a chubby tortoise shell cat and I would be extremely grateful if anyone had any information, if they could reach out. I’m just absolutely devastated and have no idea what to do.

If you ever see this

It was around this time two years ago. I was at Lafarge Lake with my friend's dog when you came over and asked if the dog was mine. You were wearing a hat, and I remember the light in your eyes.

I didn't try to start a conversation and just told you it was my friend's dog. I wasn't ready. Then my friend came over, and you left. I saw you again shortly afterward. I think you were walking with your mom. She smiled at me.

I know this is a long shot, and you may not even be from Coquitlam. But if you ever happen to see this, and if you're not seeing anyone, I'd love to ask you out for coffee.

Looking to Start an All-Girls Book Club

Hey 👋

Would anyone be interested in getting an all girls book club going in the Coquitlam/New West/Burnaby area? I (F32) live in Burquitlam. My preference is to not focus on a specific genre as I'd love to read books that I wouldn't normally pick on my own.

I've been wanting to read more, but it's been difficult to carve time out for it. I'd love to create a book club that meets at least once a month to make the habit stick and maybe also make some new friends while I'm at it.

Someone video taping strangers

Has anyone else had any experiences with a young guy wearing a facemask with punched out holes videotaping them while out by High Street?

Just had this guy with his camera videotaping myself and my friends having a conversation on the sidewalk for 10mins straight...he did not answer us to why he was filming and otherwise turned and walked away when we left. Did not say anything either...weird experience

Concession Stand?

Are there any concession stands in Coquitlam like at a sports field or anything that sell hotdogs/burgers? I’m really craving some specifically nongourmet burgers the ones they sell at baseball/hockey games if you know what I’m talking about, like backyard bbq style

Edit: Thank you kind neighbours. I found my fix to my vice 😂 it was perfect, and I can’t wait to try out all the other places suggested. Love to be part of such a helpful community!!!

Free child car seat disposal option?

I need to dispose of a child car seat that is about to expire. I'm hoping to find a free drop-off location if one exists. Because I don't live in a house, the municipal curbside large item pickup programs aren't an option for me. Please let me know if you know of any facilities currently accepting old car seats at no cost in the Tri-Cities, New West, or Richmond. Thanks!

Heritage on Glen Dr is finally open.

I’m sure it wasn’t just me who was patiently waiting for this place to open. I had the Philly cheesesteak. It was great. Big portion for 8”.

Lafarge lake lights

Does Lafarge lake have lights around the walking path this time of the year?

I know during the winter they have a whole display but how about right now for just a midnight stroll?

anyone know this guy ?? hate crime at petsmart coquitlam

my nephew, brother, and i are still shaken up about what happened at the petsmart lougheed highway location.

at around 10:45am, while we were waiting for another car to pass, the man in the photo sped up while he backed out and was like an inch away from hitting us. the other driver watched and rolled down her window to say wtf? and we just watched the same guy zoom in and out of the same parking spot like a lunatic, not even checking if there’s anyone behind him. my brother confronted him and told him he almost hit us to which the guy replied “well, ‘almost’ means nothing, right?” … we just brushed it off and walked into the store until he told my brother to “go back to his land” and then went quiet when my brother asked him to say it again. that’s when i started filming him because we were shocked. having been born and raised in Canada, we had never experienced anything like this before.

we proceeded to enter the store where we saw the same man walking towards us, literally following us and going back and forth to wherever we were. with our nephew being there and watching this man follow us, we felt scared and uncomfortable so we informed the staff and left the store. the employee told us that he comes often and is always rude and disrespectful so i’m just confused why the store still allows him back in to verbally abuse their employees ??

this whole situation ruined our day and we weren’t really sure what to do. we were mainly concerned about our 5 year old nephew who had to witness that, as he’s too young to comprehend what just happened and why we had to rush out the store without getting what we needed. i phoned the racism and hate crime hotline and was told that a police report wouldn’t do much, considering the incident was primarily verbal and hard to prove what was said. so i’m just hoping anyone could help identify this man and warn others about his erratic and ignorant behaviour. racism and reckless driving shouldn’t be tolerated, especially around children.

Lost and find: Badminton paddle lost at Larfarge Lake, June 23rd

This past Tuesday, during a school field trip to Lafarge Lake, I accidentally left my badminton racket behind when we were departing. I had set it down on the circular platform beneath the large white tent—an area where people often sit or rest. It is a flat, black "Yonex" badminton bag containing a racket with a red, white, and black gradient design; the grip is black, and the handle is stamped with a date string featuring "2027." There is a small nick or scuff on the top of the racket frame, and there is also a shuttlecock inside the bag. I have used this racket for many years, and it holds great sentimental value for me as it was a birthday gift from my early childhood. I’ve been unable to go back and look for it due to other commitments and am feeling extremely anxious; I have no idea if anyone has found or seen it. Please let me know! Although I am just a student without much in savings, I am willing to give one dollar to whoever finds and returns the racket to me... Thank you so much! It has been a truly helpless few days, and I haven't even been able to sleep well. 😭
