I designed my first crochet pattern for 20cm Cotton Dolls! 🤩

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share this. I noticed most clothes for 20cm anime dolls are mass-produced, so I wanted to challenge myself to create something truly unique 🥹.

These are my very first original crochet patterns! I designed the peach sweater with little 3D-printed stars, and for the lilac/turquoise one, I custom-designed shell buttons in Procreate and printed them on my BambuLab. I’m so happy with how clean they look on the Miya twins! 😻

What do you think about the combo of traditional craft and 3D printing? Would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions for future designs! 🦊🦊

Are there any clothes in stores you can buy?

I live in america and I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen doll clothes being sold in stores. Ordering stuff can get pretty expensive when you have to pay for shipping

I handmake dolls. What's a good price to charge?

These are all handmade/embroidered 10cm dolls. Ive made about 12 so far. I can make any design, accessories, body tattoos, and clothing(getting better at these). They all have multiple magnets inside to put hands together, kiss, or have tails or wings if needed. I do not usually embroider the hair to the face to allow for headbands, eyepatches, etc. They fit 10cm clothes you can buy aswell. I want to start making 20cm at some point and I want to try posable bodies soon too.

So, heres the question. What price would you buy these at? I cannot really compete with chinese sellers because Im not a factory, but I think I can do a bit more in terms of accuracy and getting more special accessories if its an oc.

Im thinking around 250-300 depending on complexity up to 400? Is this unreasonable? Im going to do my first commission for a closer friend and time my hours, materials, etc to get an accurate representation of the time/effort to make.

Hello!

hi again! I made my first plushie. Kim soluem from ghost story. It all hand sewed so It looks a bit wanky. i need help with trying to make clothes tho.

i been trying to troubleshoot making clothes but I can’t find a good pattern for him and trying to make patterns made me waste a lot of fabric and still failed. He’s around 22 cm. The pattern I used is from Pinterest but i made it bigger and redraw head and chin

Is there any tips to make a pattern or any pattern for this body type? I planned to make shirt, pants, jacket and dresses but any is fine.

Alternatives to minky fabric

Hello, my question here is what other kind of fabric can I use to make the base and hair, it seems it's kinda hard to find/bought minky fabric in my country.

Alongside I read felt fabric could work.

Anyway i'm not sure if it's just a translation problem (too much type of fabrics to learn and i'm just a beginner 😅) but I would like to read some opinions before buying.

Any tips for dying hair?

Hi! As the title says, I'm interesting in hearing any tips about dyeing fabric for hair in dolls. Is not easy for me to get different colors. Either because of a small variety or being forced to bulk purchase :(

I got white for one project, and I have way too much. I was wondering if there is a good way I could dye it different colors and how could I seal it to avoid bleeding. Since most of the skin for dolls is way lighter.

These are the ones I have!
