Mindy rose up on her little stout legs and started toward the June bug. The startled insect quickly began scurrying away, with the fluffy white duck waddling behind it as fast as her small orange flippers could carry her.The June bug scampered under a loose board in the fence, and Mindy dived in after it. Her little round body became snugly wedged between the boards. She immediately began swinging her flippers and quacking furiously for someone to come help.

The loud sound of little flat duck feet slapping against the concrete quickly drew nearer as the other waddlers rushed to assist. Mally, the cute little mallard drake tilted his head curiously "How come I only see your bottom today, Mindy? What happened to the rest of you?"

“I think she’s stuck,” responded his brother Sheldon.

“Yes, I’m stuck! Help me get out!” Mindy quacked sharply.

Quickly, the ducks assembled in a “tug of war” formation and began trying to loosen Mindy from the fence.

Just then Bucky, who had been at the far end of the property, arrived at the scene and immediately groaned in disdain.

“Of course,” Bucky muttered, staring at the sight of Mindy wedged halfway beneath the fence like an overstuffed pillow someone had tried to mail through the wrong slot. “Of all the places you could have gotten stuck, it had to be my garden. How am I supposed to enjoy my garden with your bothersome bottom blocking my blooms?"

"Do you think I chose this??" Mindy shrieked as she began angrily waving her flippers again. Bucky rolled her eyes. "I really hope someone has a plan, or I'm going to turn that bottom into a flower pot stand," she muttered under her breath.
