Ranking breakdown?
Rankings are given 4 different colors: dark green, light green, yellow, and red. I'm curious where your rankings are bunched, as these seem to correspond to quartiles.
My ranges
Great: 81-100
Good: 71-80
Not Good: 61-70
Bad: 0-60
I find this interesting because it means I rank most films between 61-80. It would make a nice little box and whiskers plot, to be honest, skewed to the high end, which makes sense. I enjoy films, even if they're flawed, and a film really has to be terrible or have little merit in my eyes for me to rank it below 50, even.
I say this because, in general, my rankings follow the standard
90+ is a genuine masterpiece (Fight Club)
80-89 would be great movies I would recommend (Snatch)
70-79 are good movies that I don't regret watching (Fury)
60-69 are films that I enjoy but are heavily flawed (Meet Joe Black or Mr and Mrs Smith)
50-59 are the films that aren't good but still manage to be worth watching once (Reign of Fire? I don't have a Brad Pitt film in this range)
And anything below 50 would be films that I don't find entertaining at all, or not worth the watch (Cool World. I had one Brad Pitt film down here)
I know we share our ranking systems a lot here, but I am more curious about your quartile breakdowns.
