Ranking breakdown?

Rankings are given 4 different colors: dark green, light green, yellow, and red. I'm curious where your rankings are bunched, as these seem to correspond to quartiles.

My ranges
Great: 81-100
Good: 71-80
Not Good: 61-70
Bad: 0-60

I find this interesting because it means I rank most films between 61-80. It would make a nice little box and whiskers plot, to be honest, skewed to the high end, which makes sense. I enjoy films, even if they're flawed, and a film really has to be terrible or have little merit in my eyes for me to rank it below 50, even.
I say this because, in general, my rankings follow the standard
90+ is a genuine masterpiece (Fight Club)
80-89 would be great movies I would recommend (Snatch)
70-79 are good movies that I don't regret watching (Fury)
60-69 are films that I enjoy but are heavily flawed (Meet Joe Black or Mr and Mrs Smith)
50-59 are the films that aren't good but still manage to be worth watching once (Reign of Fire? I don't have a Brad Pitt film in this range)
And anything below 50 would be films that I don't find entertaining at all, or not worth the watch (Cool World. I had one Brad Pitt film down here)

I know we share our ranking systems a lot here, but I am more curious about your quartile breakdowns.

Looking for Android Beta Testers: Help test the official Criticker app!

Hey everyone!

For the past few months, we've been building an app to bring Criticker to your phone, and we're just about ready to release it to the world!

We’ve completed our initial, internal testing, and are opening access up to a select group of Criticker users for a Closed Beta / Testing Phase. Access to this testing period will be on a first-come first-serve basis.

What We Need Help Testing

  • Navigating recommendations, film ratings, and watchlist on mobile.
  • Signing in and signing up, links to Criticker on the web
  • General feedback & bug reports before we go fully public.

As a Criticker user, you'll immediately notice quite a few features missing from this initial version of the app, including Collections, Filmmaker Profiles and more. We will be adding these missing components in future versions, so you don't need to tell us about "what's missing". But please do let us know which features you'd like to see next!

How to Join

Because Google Play requires us to whitelist tester emails for closed testing, we're managing sign-ups on a request basis. Please send an email to: app@criticker.com. Once we get enough testers, we'll close the group, and update this post.

Important Note: Please make sure to provide us with the email address associated with your Android / Google Play Store account, or the store won't let you access the download link!

What to Expect

  • Once you've sent a request, we'll add you to our Closed Testing group.
  • Once approved, we will email you the direct download link.
  • We ask that you keep the app installed and drop in occasionally to test features while we work toward our public release!

Thanks so much for helping us bring Criticker to mobile. Leave any initial questions in the comments below! And don't worry iPhone users -- we've been working simultaneously on the iOS version of the app, so you won't be waiting long! We're just taking the testing and approval phase of the rollout one platform at a time.

New Emails, An Improved DB Ratings View, and More Updates

We're pleased to announce another new batch of changes and improvements to Criticker, including a more cohesive way to peruse your ratings (and those of other users), and a new layout for system emails. Plus, all sorts of bug fixes! Thanks as always to everyone who's been pointing out problems they discover!

Enhancements

Ratings: Database View

A few months ago, we introduced new ways to view your ratings, including poster and grid views. We also kept the Database View, though it led to the old style of the page.
