Is there anyone?

Ok I graduated. Is there anyone that I can talk to strictly relating to the major that I did. I’m honestly feeling lost right now. While in school I just focused on my classes and passing them. I thought about grad school but I'm sure I passed the deadline to apply and Csun doesn't have further education for my major. For career, at first, when I started, I wanted to do something but over time I was like maybe not for me. NOW I just Don't know.

I graduated from CSUN!!! (Kinesiology graduate)

My ceremony was this week and wow, time flies fast. Kinesiology graduate here.

I was surprised by how many Kinesiology students were graduating. I did feel a little lonely during the event since I didn’t really have many close friends there, but in the end, it didn’t matter because I had my #1 supporters: my family ❤️ and I finally earned my bachelor’s degree! KIN345 was such a pain 😭 but thank God I passed LOL. I also got my first job ever at CSUN as a student assistant, which helped me realize office work probably isn’t for me. My experience at CSUN had its ups and downs, but I’m grateful for everything I learned along the way.

Just happy and proud that I earned my degree 🎓

Any kinesiology graduates wanna be friends?😄

Commencement disappointment

The commencement was so bad. Had us standing for hours. And I couldn’t stand no more cause I have bad knees. I brought my service dog with me who’s trained to tell me when I’m about to faint and about my autism. One of the commencement people before I entered asked about my service dog. I was allowed to bring her in and walk with her on stage. It was going smoothly. I submitted the form and paperwork online. Etc. the doctors info. Everything. Fast forward to being called on stage. Rest of commencement members were okay everything going smoothly. Time it’s almost time for me to go walk the stage with fellow classmates I get stopped by a commencement lady asking who I talk to about bringing my service dog on stage with me, asking if I filled out the form and stuff online and I had to confirm i did. Then asked who I talk to I described the person I talk to. But then they said they couldn’t pull up the form at the moment cause they didn’t have an electronic device and my phone was dead so I couldn’t bring in a power bank to charge my phone cause they don’t allow metal. And they was not even calling anybody in alphabetical order. If i knew this commencement was gonna be this disorganized i would have never walked.

2026 Graduation

Did anyone else’s name not get called during commencement? I graduated on Friday (College of Science and Math) and they didn’t call my name. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re using AI to call our names or because I was a Bio major and everyone was over the ceremony so they started rushing things. I was so sad because my family traveled all the way down here and I worked so hard on my degree just for my name to not be called. I know I still graduated and them calling my name shouldn’t matter, but this was super special to me because I’m the first in my family to graduate college and they didn’t even get to hear my name.

So what were those weird buildings in F10?

Someone in a previous post told me they were “temporary classrooms for a high school that needs some construction work” but they were there all year and always empty. They’ve been disappearing over the past few weeks so I guess the mystery is almost over. Anyone have any ideas?

Just graduated

Wow I graduated and my time here at CSUN is over. It was bittersweet being here. Looking back, the time just flew by, and I honestly wish I could have been here much longer. I’m going to miss the campus and the routine.

Sitting there at Graduation, I never realized how big my Major is. They just kept calling more and more Criminology and Justice Studies names. It felt like it never ended, and honestly, seeing all those people just made me realize I am still so lost and have no idea what to do. Since there are a lot of you Criminology graduates, how did you guys know what you wanted to do? What is next for you all? Do you all start looking for a job or take a break/vacation before job searching?

AI at Commencement

I just want to continue to express the disappointment of CSUN in their use of ai. Bottom line, it’s just such a lazy thing to do. They are over investing into AI in things that don’t benefit students. The food pantry sits empty some weeks and we have money going into pointless things like an AI name reader. Sometimes all students walk out with from the food pantry is cans of tomato sauce and expired beans. You’d think if students are using the recourse so much they’d try to establish even more funding and support for a program that is CLEARLY serving a purpose. When I asked why the shelves were empty I was told they are donation based and it can be really inconsistent some weeks. MacKenzie Scott donated $63 million into this school and we can’t even fund the food pantry??!!! We should be more outraged. Prove me wrong. Give me reasons why the food pantry shouldn’t be funded properly and why our schools donations should be used for things like an AI to read names during graduations?! Really, I’d love to hear valid reasons. I’m really dissatisfied with our university’s current administrative representation. Did she tap her red converse twice before letting the AI be our school’s commencement speaker too?! lol just disappointed.

Can someone help me understand this?

So I’m supposed to be graduating this semester but I got an email just today saying I haven’t met my DPR requirements. As you can see all sections are checked off. What am I missing?

Script for Thesis

I am planning on pitching for my film thesis next semester. I don't have any ideas I feel strongly about, I don't know why the film & television don't work with the screen writing department on an actual solid concept and script for an idea so if anyone has a project they feel very strongly about. Please feel free to send me your script I would love to get ideas and concepts from people who are passionate about bringing their ideas to life.

I would prefer it to be centered around horror but if am open to different genres if the story is strong! :)

If you attended 5/18 ceremony at 8am (possibly named Samira)

Hello! I found this note by the fountain outside Bayramian Hall. The thought that you possibly didn’t have a chance to read this broke my heart, and I hope you know how proud your family is of you!!!

Felicidades!!! Aunque no te conozca, se que te lo mereces !!

To the students who just graduated and did a grad photoshoot this month, what day did you pick?

First off, congrats to all the seniors who just graduated!

I was curious about the best times to plan for my own photoshoot (I‘m a junior) and wanted to ask people who already did theirs what the best days/times are.

They called my name wrong in the grad ceremony, and the president didn't fist-bump/shake hands with me! I'm sad & mad.

So my name ends with an "a". The "a" is pronounced as ae/e not aa. I hope you got it. When i tried to put the pronunciation of my name in Tassel, the ai was making mistakes repeatedly so i even voice-recorded my name so it'll be called out correctly. I was already kinda sad that everyone was running marathons as there were too many people and no one got their time to pose/take in their moment at the stage, sad. Then i heard my name being mispronounced, double sad. Then when i went to shake hands, I couldn't find President Erica and it was a short lady who kinda gave me a short wave and I waved back? I was so taken aback by this, I kept thinking if I really didn't shake hands/posed with anyone or not. Then I saw my live clip and yes I was right, I kinda just passed through the stage as nothing was offered? TRIPLE SAD!

I know I'm being dramatic but it's a very special moment and I had high hopes....

Commencement Pictures

There were multiple photo spots during the stage walk portion of commencement… is there a way for us to access/buy these photos for ourselves?

It feels weird that they would have every single student take the portraits and not have a way to buy them but unfortunately I’m lacking on where I would even find the info to do that rn…. 🫩

CONGRATULATIONS to all my fellow matadors in class of 2026🌹

I regret putting the walk option for graduation

I am here sitting after many years of studying. All my efforts transferring and putting myself into the community on campus. I have dreamt of the day I graduate and it is so fucking devastating and heartbreaking to be here on the lawn right now. The whole thing is clearly written by ai. You can tell in every speech. The soul and excitement you would expect on this day has been stripped away. I regret walking. I regret getting all dressed up. Every point of this graduation had been using only ai. I know Csun pushes for ai to all its courses. Honestly I think this is a pathetic excuse of a graduation. I feel bad for all my fellow graduates. They didn’t deserve such a soulless graduation. There’s no music. I remember the one I went to only a year ago had so much life. And now we sit in awkward silence on thin white chairs. In a hot sun listening to ai voices you’d hear on some stupid Instagram reel call the names. I’m disappointed that the faculty let the graduation be this dependent on ai. It’s like they didn’t even wanna put effort themselves and this feels like a slap to the face when concerns on ai impacting the job fields were in are at an all time high.
