Email access
I'm an incoming freshman and when I tried to log into my portal today do to checklist stuff, I tried to log into my email again and found out I don't have access to it anymore. I've gotten into it before and I have my activated/working identikey still. I tried looking around and found out that they're changing authentication stuff but I can't even log in to be prompted for that in the first place. Anyone know why or know a fix?
Police chase down Canyon?
Noticed many police cars driving down Canyon at 9:45pm, anyone know what for?
Anyone wants to create a tennis server/group?
Hi all, it’s been a while since I have played tennis. I’m currently in Boulder and play at a decent level. I was wondering if we could create an exclusive discord server / WhatsApp group / telegram group to find tennis partners in CO?
Let me know and I can create one.
Edit: the discord server is up. DM me and I can send you the link!
Local restaurants for freshman
My niece will be attending CU Boulder as a freshman in the fall. For her high school grad present, I would love to get her a gift card to a local restaurant near campus that is popular with students. Any recommendations? thanks!
ASEN Masters Courses
Hi everyone,
As the title implies, I am a newly admitted ASEN masters student. I am looking at what courses to register for during the Fall 2026 term. I came to CU Boulder to specialize in astrodynamics, and so I really find the following interesting for my discipline:
ASEN 5090 - Axelrad
ASEN 5519 - Far
ASEN 6010 - Schaub
ASEN 6020 - Scheeres
I am looking at doing a thesis masters, and according to the graduate student handbook, I need 6 credits of thesis work (ASEN 6090). That being said, I think I will need to choose two of the above courses to do for the first semester so that the math adds up.
My current plan is to take 5090 and 6010 together in the same semester, with thesis research. If anyone has experience with these courses, I would appreciate any honest feedback on the workload/doability of this. Thaks everyone for your time.
Grad Students, How many hours do you work?
I am an out of state student coming in the fall. It will be my first time living away from home and I wanted to house outside of campus.
I wanted to ask how many hours do you work a week? And if it’s okay and you are comfortable with sharing can you mention your monthly rent and maybe your pay rate?
My partner and I want to live together and she has a full time job and already graduated, so it would be mainly a concern for me making rent. I want to know how others manage a school and work life balance and what an appropriate amount of hours to put into work and school are. She is also already living in Denver, and I am wondering if I should just get more loans and do student housing instead of having her move for the sake of being together.
Any tips and stories are very much appreciated! I will be taking all things into consideration. If anyone feels more comfortable shooting a DM to speak more about personal experience is also welcome.
Thank you again!
Waitlisted for housing

Where is Sheba?
Hey random question I’m an alum and I’m visiting with my family and a few friends and I walked by the hills tunnel yesterday and noticed Sheba (king wook) was nowhere to be seen. I’m just wondering if he is still around? Is he ok? Is he still living? I looked on the Boulder subreddit but there wasn’t anything about him. So I just I wanted to ask here if anyone has seen him/ knew what happened or if he relocated. I really just hangout w him for a sec like I did when I was a student.
can anyone give me insight on costs?
i’m a rising senior from arizona. i’m hoping to get to colorado for environmental engineering, ideally focusing on atmospheric sciences. i’m looking into cu boulder, does anybody have an idea on my cost? i have a decent amount of dual enrollment credits through my local cc, will have a 3.65 gpa, and have a 34 act. my parents definitely make too much for aid so id need merit scholarships only.
does anyone here have similar circumstances to me? what did you end up paying? how can i whittle my costs down? are there any nearby schools that might be more realistic or cheaper?

reddit.comSelf sufficient students, how do you afford housing?
Hi everyone
Im a non traditional student and have self funded my education and living expenses, dont get help from parents. I commute from fort collins largely because I was going to front range and cant find affordable housing near campus. I got a job that requires me to be closer and I need to move urgently.
I work two jobs rn that add up to about 25-30 hrs a week during the school year on top of 12 credits. Im terrified of not being able to move down here because of insane rent prices, and not having enough aid to cover tuition. I have to be within 30 mins of campus. I dont know anyone I could get an apartment with. I dont know what to do at this point.
Does anyone have any advice?
Do I even have a possibility of getting in?
My gpa has never been good. My gpa in freshman year was 3.0 and now cumulative is more like a 2.5, I’m obviously getting it up and I plan to get it up as much as possible. I haven’t taken any aps, I dont play a sport, I’m in clubs, I’ve been in the spanish immersion program and will have a certificate of biliteracy when I graduate. My SAT score is 970, I’m in junior year and taking 2 ap’s next year, and mexican-american, I’m out of state from California. I’ve had many hardships throughout my life that would explain a low gpa and a good reason for an essay. I’m still awaiting SAT scores. Do I have a chance? or What would I have to do to even get a chance.
Anyone looking for Avalanche playoffs seats?
I’m usually right there in my seat for every Colorado Avalanche home game, but this week’s got me stretched a little thin and I won’t be able to make it to watch the Avs Tide take on the
May 20 and May 22 vs Vegas Golden Knights
I sure hate the thought of these seats sittin’ empty, so I’d much rather pass ’em along to some true Avs fans who’ll show up loud and proud at a reasonable rate. They’re in Section 146, Row 15 great spot to catch all the action.
If you’re interested or just want a little more info, shoot me a PM. I’m happy to answer any questions.
Let’s Go Avs! 🏒
Buyer Beware: Poor Quality Merch
The CU Boulder fan store is using Fanatics to produce merchandise for teams. I just received two shirts I ordered from the CU Boulder Fan store. little did I know that these were being produced by Fanatics. absolutely ridiculous how poor the quality is of these two shirts and the screen printing. These are marketed as Nike and Champion garments but it’s all Fanatics.
Cu Boulder should be incensed that their IP is being placed on such garbage. Nike and Champion should be also be angry that their brand image is being destroyed by Fanatic. Fanatics should be ashamed to sell such garbage
Still amazed how they built this “Email for Life” promotion for years and years, take it away, and expect alumni to “stay connected”
Would love to hear more about the cybersecurity risk or unforeseen changes they mention as if this decision isn’t just based in financial greed
Edit: One of the comments here pointed out something that makes a great point too. They are “solving” security issues for them but introducing it for thousands of alumni. If you happen to forget any account of yours under your cu email and your email is reused in the future, that person will now have access to anything that email used or is using. Insane.
