Help needed!

So yesterday, they asked for my grade 10-12 transcripts, which I have already submitted. But today, they sent me another task asking for my graduation certificate, but wouldn't it just be my class 12th annual report. I am a student from CBSE, so if anyone can help, it would be appreciated!

Applied in November and heard back nothing

Applied for psych . AAB in AS level and 1330 SAT
No interviews or anything. Is there still a chance or it’s pretty much the rejection going to happen when they close the admissions cycle.
Have you seen any other people with similar stats getting admitted?

Thanks !

Any chance for GLEF or QFin?

So I just found out that I am rejected from my first choice, which is Economics (Dual Degree Programme with Tsinghua University. My 2nd choice is GLEF and 3rd one is QFin. Should I hope for sth from these 2 degrees given that I am already rejected from even CUHK Econ?

Also I was accepted into HKU EcoFin, so it was actually a bit disappointing for me :(

Try to be honest even if its unpleasant. Thank you

Mainland Chinese student from Zhejiang University applying to HKU MBBS / CUHK MBChB (4-year graduate entry?) — realistic chances?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently an undergraduate student at Zhejiang University (mainland China, not a Hong Kong local student), and I’m considering applying to the 4-year medicine programs at HKU (MBBS) and CUHK (MBChB) in the future. I’d really appreciate some honest opinions from people familiar with admissions, especially mainland applicants or current med students.

And a bit about my background: major in pharmaceutical science, junior student, GPA:89/100, IELTS:7.0, 2025iGEM second-runner-up, Summer programs at Tsinghua-PKU Joint Center for Life Sciences and NUS, related hospital volunteer work (more than 350hrs), multiple scholarships and a piece of review….

I know HK med admissions are extremely competitive, especially for non-local students, and I’m trying to understand:

1.Do mainland students realistically have a chance for HKU MBBS / CUHK MBChB graduate-entry style programs? 2.How important are interviews compared with GPA/research? 3.Between HKU and CUHK, which one tends to be relatively friendlier for mainland applicants?

I’d really appreciate any honest feedback — even if it’s harsh. I’m trying to decide whether this path is realistic before investing more years into preparation. And this is actually my first time posting on reddit, so plz be kind haha.

Thanks again for any advice!

hk uni options

so just finished ib and im probably not getting into the big three

and i think my options are either shue yan, hang seng, or hkbu uni.

which among the three would fit these criteria: good air, good access to quality food from wet markets and restaurants, good oppurtunity to join sports team or numerous runnung trails or gyms of high quality, a dorm that offers single room. would much appreciate opinions to stop me from scratching my head at 2am.

Also how would living in shueyan- hongkong island. hkbu- kowloon tong, and hsuhsk- shatin area affect my quality of life

Late Applicant: CBSE 95% (98 Econ / 97 Accounts) Realistic admission/scholarship chances for BBA/BEcon?

Hey guys,

I'm a late international applicant submitting my form today (May 15) for the upcoming Sept intake.

My Stats:

  • CBSE Commerce: 95% overall aggregate
  • Breakdown: 98 Economics, 97 Accountancy, 97 Business Studies, 97 English, 86 Applied Mathematics.
  • IELTS: 7.5 Band

My Choices:

  1. BFin (AMPB)
  2. BBA (Finance Major)
  3. BEcon / BEcon&Fin

My Questions:

  1. Realistically, am I too late to get an offer for the standard BBA/BEcon tracks, or is there still rolling capacity?
  2. Given my 86 in Applied Math but near-perfect commerce scores, is there any remaining chance for a partial entrance scholarship (e.g., 25–50%) this late in the cycle?

Appreciate any honest insight from current international students!

Need honest advice: HKU Biomed vs CUHK Science for long-term career prospects

Hi everyone, I’m an international student currently deciding between two offers:

  • HKU Biomedical Sciences (likely interested in the bioinformatics/data-related side) (full-tuition)
  • CUHK Science (possibly maths/stats route) (full tuition + allowance)

I’ve been struggling a lot with this decision because both paths seem to lead to very different futures.

My main concerns are:

  • long-term employability
  • flexibility of career options
  • internship opportunities
  • chances of working outside Hong Kong after graduation
  • financial stability
  • workload and student stress levels
  • campus/social environment
  • whether students regret choosing one over the other

I know HKU has stronger international prestige and I’m genuinely interested in biology/bioinformatics, but I’m also worried about career uncertainty in biotech/life sciences compared to a quantitative degree like maths/stats.

I would really appreciate honest perspectives from current students or graduates from either university/programme — especially regarding internships, graduate outcomes, student life, and whether you felt your degree gave you enough flexibility after graduation. I just do not want to regret my decision in the future.

Thank you :)

DEPOSIT REFUND

Hey everyone,

I recently received an offer for the Global Business Studies program at CUHK and I'm facing a weird situation. I need your take on this because I'm a bit stressed.

Here is the situation:

  • The issue: My dad just received a refund from the school about 10 minutes ago.
  • The context: All my documents are uploaded except the official bank letter (which they told me I could upload anytime in May, so no issue there).
  • The deposit proof: I had technical issues uploading my translated proof of deposit on the portal, so I emailed it to the admissions office on May 11th (one day before my deadline).
  • The status: They haven't replied to my email yet, but my application portal is still completely active. It does NOT say "withdrawn".

Has anyone experienced this before? Does a sudden refund mean they rejected my deposit, or could it be a glitch/normal administrative procedure since my status hasn't changed to "withdrawn"?

I don't know what to do next. Any advice or insights would be highly appreciated! Thanks stp!
