Which Controller is better? Apex 5 vs KP70
Hi everyone, I am confused between Flydigi Apex 5 and Beitong KP70 controllers.
Currently, I am using Xbox Series Controller on PC with Dongle for past 5 years and now it has started to give me issues.
Now I want a better controller to play these games:
- Tekken 8
- Forza Horizon 6 ( with trigger hardening as gas pedal goes in)
- Tomb raider and similar games with Bow and drawing and charging weapons.
- Story FPS and role playing games like Doom, Resident Evil and Where wind meets.
I tried to find a comparison but there was no direct comparison of these two controllers.
The Beitong KP70 approach of microswitch with force feedback trigger vs Adaptive feedback on Apex 5 is quite confusing. Some reviewers showed that on Apex 5 the trigger can be registered as low Puch as a minor hit. That is quite similar to microswitch.
Let me know what you think. Thanks.
Knocked off a resistor, pls help
Like the title says I accidentally knocked off a resistor when replacing my sticks that had drift for some new magnet based ones. But now the controller won't turn on properly and only gives my 3 blinking orange lights, how would I replace the resistor and what kind would I need?
Customized My GameSir Faceplates To Match My Setup
I’ve always liked custom setups and graffiti-style art, so I wanted something that actually matched the rest of my setup instead of looking stock.
I actually did something similar to my previous controller, the Manba One V2, but this time I wanted to do it properly and learn the actual process instead of just drawing directly onto the shell and hoping for the best 😭
I know this probably isn’t everyone’s taste and some people are definitely gonna say I ruined two perfectly good faceplates 💀 but thankfully I’m the one that paid for them lol. I wanted something that actually matched my setup and art style and honestly I had a lot of fun doing this and I’m really happy with how they came out and that's all that matters.
The black faceplates definitely came out cleaner in my opinion, but I still like how the yellow one looks too. I wanted them to feel hand-drawn and imperfect instead of looking factory made.
Honestly I already know I’m probably buying more faceplates to customize because I liked how these two came out way more than I expected 😭
What I used:
- 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper
- 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Microfiber cloth
- Painter’s tape
- Rust-Oleum Adhesion Promoter
- Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Flat White
- Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Clear Gloss
(I know there's another clear coat I can use but it becomes useless after a few days and I rather not waste my money)
- Posca markers
It has taken it’s final form
Changed the triggers and side grips for the green ones. Previously had left those things black. Decided i like this best lol and i’ll leave it alone now. It has been taken apart like 5 times lol
How much would you pay?
Started customizing some controllers thoughts anyone? TMR joysticks, clicky triggers and face buttons
New3ds controller
this might be a silly question, but does anyone know if there’s a controller for switch2 in the style of a new3ds? something like the second photo but just a controller for switch2
Pico-controlled PS5 controller mod
Started this project with a Raspberry Pi Pico and a spare PS5 controller just to see if I could get basic input control working. It eventually turned into a full custom controller mod with direct button injection, analog stick control through DACs, manual/automatic joystick switching, and PC-side Python software communicating with the controller in real time.
The hardware side alone took forever — trace cutting, soldering directly to controller pads, testing voltages, rebuilding sections when something failed, and figuring out how to control analog movement smoothly without introducing drift or jitter. I also had to build calibration routines and tune stick ranges repeatedly until movement finally started feeling natural instead of robotic.
The software side has been just as deep. Right now the setup can send real-time commands from a PC, switch between manual and automated control on the fly, handle stable analog stick movement, and run movement/navigation routines consistently through custom firmware running on the Pico.
Definitely one of the hardest and most rewarding electronics/software projects I’ve worked on so far. Crazy seeing something that started as a random experiment actually turn into a functioning system.
in the video is a button test and joystick axis test.
buttons include x,circle,square,triangle,up,down,left,right,r1,r2,r3,l1,l2,l3, options, touch pad & ps home.
both joy sticks do a quick axis test aswell.
next phase will be adding a voice recognition module to the pico for voice controlled inputs.
let me know your thoughts.
How to get acrylic paint to stick to controller
I want to start painting controllers but am unsure where to start. I already have acrylic paint but am wondering what would be best to get it to stick. I assume sanding first then some kind of primer with the acrylic, I used fabric primer stuff that I mix with acrylic when I paint clothes. Starting with an NES controller and going to move onto Xbox and probably others. Advice?
Where to find the teal/blue-green of this controller but full front plate?
I've been searching everywhere and either they're too blue or too green, this is the closest I've found to what I want. If anybody has ANY clue where to get a transparent color like this pls help!
Fun, clean, and full of personality. You really can’t go wrong with Psyduck 💛
Finished my first airbrush piece to list online. Miles Morales PS5 controller with tmr analogs installed.
Finished my first Airbrush custom controller. Sealed it with Spraymax 2x clear coat. Took awhile as i completed multiple controllers at once and wanted to get at least 3 controllers done with 1 can of spraymax.( Still had extra that went to waste). Posting this piece as this is one that i currently have listed online. The other one was a personal piece and one for a family member. (Rick and Morty theme)
Listed it on my (mr2k_all_day) ebay page but im not sure whether to keep making pieces and listing them or to do more custom orders and make by request. I guess it depends on how long it will take this one to move.
Finally retired my Manba One V2 and grabbed a GameSir G7 Pro 8K
Been using the Manba One V2 for a while but randomly got the itch to switch things up and ended up ordering the GameSir G7 Pro 8K after watching DeeGital Tech’s video on it. The swappable faceplate honestly sold me more than anything else because I already know I’m about to customize the extra one I ordered to match my setup the same way I did with my old controller and charging dock lol.
I haven’t actually used the controller yet so I can’t give any impressions, but I felt like it was time for an upgrade. I know the controller is really customizable too so I’ll probably mess around with different settings and see what works best for me since I play pretty much every genre of games.
A few of the controllers ive built and sold
All of these were local customer orders and had atMR joysticks installed among other mods too
First time flyer, help
This is going to sound nuts but without wasting time on unnecessary details, what do I need to have ALL the same buttons as an Xbox controller and modify this phone handset to be a USB-C controller? It feels good in hand and I think my idea is clear enough. In a perfect world I’d just gut an existing controller and dremel the plastic on this for the button holes, but I’ve opened controllers before and I know they’re usually more rigid internally and that won’t work.
STRETCH goals: playable over USB-c, wireless Bluetooth, rechargeable. I’d be happy with just getting it to work though.
I know it’s a custom job and I’m in the deep end of a project that I have no experience with but I’m determined to figure this out. Thank you 🙏
Will this work as a custom ps5 shell or did I just buy a 80$ paperweight?
Loving this new look on my Elite Series 2 controller
Clear black full shell from eXtremeRate.
The full kit includes trasparent ABXY buttons, bumpers, triggers, etc but decided to keep all the original ones and just swap the front and back shell.
Where can I buy a pro controller?
So as the title says Im looking for a pro controller. I have had this ps4 controller forever and I’ve tried to use Xbox in between and just couldn’t get used to it. What’s my best bet here id like to stay under 200 and have good longevity out of it.
how can i clean this ?
i dont know why it is like that u want it as it was so white, can someone help me ?
