What shell do you main in Solo and why?
Hey guys, I wanted to open up the discussion about what shell you're going into solo matches with and why. Sometimes I think that solo gets a bad reputation in this game, and the recent comments from the game developers confirm that they are working on making it better but in the meantime I still really really enjoy playing solo.
When I glean Reddit posts and look at videos from streamers, I see that assassin and Thief are the two main shells that people use but I personally think that every shell has some Merit when it comes to solo play. Also maybe what shell you pick depends on the map or what your objective is.
Can you guys talk about your experience with solo and what shell you guys are bringing in and why? Thank you
Anyone tryna run some Cryo keys before wipe?
I have two 5’s and a 3, all prestige. Am level 112 and reliable in PVP. Have attempted Cryo in solo fill a few times but have yet to exfil. I’m on the DoM discord as well but wanted to check here first.
Can we get D2 cosmetics for Marathon?
With content updates ending for D2, what are the chances we can get some (perhaps free? Is that too much to ask? Probably) Destiny cosmetics in Marathon?
D2 had Marathon themed cosmetics as part of the big huzzah for pre orders going live. They had general cosmetics and the Marathon pre order set also.
Shell skins would be amazing, but even some weapon skins or just some stickers/weapon charms would be so good as mementos to take into my runs. Destiny has been my main play for 12 years at this point. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time on Tau Ceti IV, and with D2 coming to an end and any definitive future Destiny plans yet to be confirmed it would just be so fun to dive into a run with a little traveller or ghost charm, or tricorn sticker. Maybe on a Suros themed skin on my M77.
Unless it’s just me thinking this would be nice because today’s announcement has put a dampener on today, more so than the rains on Dire Marsh.
I want to decorate my ROOK shell.
It would be so awesome if they let you put stickers on rook. Just to spruce him up a bit, make him look cool.
HOW DID THAT LAST KNIFE NOT KILL THE THIEF???
You can even see the blood splatter, and he was broken!
I feel like this grenade doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves.
by far my favorite pvp battle from today
got discouraged earlier in the day was just getting jumped left and right. But to have a battle like this makes the game worth playing imo
Recon Main Report: it is my duty as runner to gather information. here is some information i have gathered. run safe. run smart. run shell.

Exfil tips for Rook
Anyone got tips for a rook having trouble surviving exfil? I feel like a majority of the time I get taken out during extraction. I tried waiting for final exfil but that’s been mostly a death trap, usually get killed by someone farming kills. Just wondering what a good strategy would be.
Quality of life update for codex enthusiasts
Do you wish that you could track missing codex items like we track other materials? I for sure wish this comes in a patch soon. Upvote for bungie awareness if you agree!
Awesome to find a community of fellow Dads here, Looking for like minded players!
Just wanted to drop a post and say it’s incredibly refreshing to find a Marathon community specifically for Dads. To be completely honest, it’s been tough finding people to squad up with who actually get it. Between juggling a full time career and family life, my gaming hours are limited. Too often, I end up playing with younger guys who still live at home and just don’t understand that life/work has to come first sometimes. They can get impatient or take things way too seriously. I’m not trying to go pro or turn gaming into a second career. I play because I genuinely love video games and want to unwind with a good match. It’s great to see a group of people who are on the exact same page, where everyone understands the reality of the daily grind but still wants to drop in and play at a high level when time permits. If anyone ever wants to squad up for some games and understands the "adult schedule," feel free to add me

See you guys out there.
PVE Gating Logic
TLDR: "Ok, if you're going to put PvE, make it really lame" is not a bright strategy for engaging a wider playerbase that can eventually help sustain/grow the PvPvE playerbase. It should be challenging and rewarding enough that it attracts both those who only want PvE as well as those that prefer to main PvPvE.
Out of all the comments on how PvE should be the one I agree with the most is that it should be challenging. The best example I can think of is 'soloing command wing on a faction mission' hard.
What I agree with the least is the loot drop restrictions "They should get purple, but not gold" "Nah, max should be blue". The ppl making these comments are obviously not interested in playing this mode cause they wouldn't suggest handicapping themselves. It seems to be coming more from a place of "I'm working harder for my stuff and they shouldn't have an easy mode for making progress"
If the mode will work to attract players I think it should be fully fleshed out. You should be able to get valuable loot and the gating should be difficulty either by waves or hordes that serve as some sort of gear or skill check. For example, there are ways to play Outpost and Cryo without ever encountering other teams and its a perfectly valid strategy.
Will already good players try to game the system by going into PVE to farm good loot and bring that back into PvPvE? Very likely, that's why I think the challenge should be at the level of good player for the top-tier loot, not totally eliminate it. In the end when you go back to PvPvE you will inevitably dump that loot back into the economy.
Opening a Key Room or Vault be like...
Damn Alarm alerting the whole of Tau Ceti.
Co Evo 4/5 - Don’t let me catch you on the streets, Nona!
The destain for these contracts will be generational
PvE General Discussion
There has been a lot of talk about it. Since it isn't out yet you can't actually dislike it. Now that we are past that.
What is everyone hoping to see in the PvE mode?
Personally I'm hoping for more events per session.
Organic difficulty in the map, I.e. you can get in/get out or you can go for harder content.
Potential for larger crews on maps like dire
Maybe keep the rooks in it, not 100% on this but it would be fun.
Parents, teach them children: homophobic slurs ain't it...
Repeat after me: do not to call someone a terrible homophobic slur (EVER, but especially when you get dropped in a video game...)
I'm not good at this game, but I love the gameplay and world building. I'll run solo just to enjoy the scenery. I leak a lot of motor oil most runs. Oh, and I've never actually finished off another runner. Dropped, yes. Stabby-stab, no. I avoid other runners.
Decided to run Outpost solo for the first time. Dropped into a vent when flaming rain started. Someone else had the same idea. Shootout. Both of us dropped. I had a self revive. This is where things get ugly.
I do my revive and start heading towards this runner – it's literally the only direction I can go. That's when he decides dropping really ugly slurs over proximity chat is his constitutional right.
Bro... I was gonna give you the mercy kit I had in my bag because I was as surprised as you. Instead, here's a knife in your artificial dome. Thanks for helping me get that achievement, mate.
One of my first times getting into pinwheel. Getting out tho…
Grown man shaking like a Chihuahua after this btw
