Scratch built General Store

I spent today doing the scoring for the Phoenix Gaming Club's Kings of War tournament, but more importantly I spent it also making the general store for my DMH Hollywood board

Starter Advice

Hi guys,

Starting from the very beginning here, should point out a few things:

- I've never played a tabletop game similar to DMH

- I've never painted mini figures and nervous in my ability to do so

- I've not really got anybody to play with (none of my mates have shown any interest in tabletops)

I've always been really interested by the tabletop games, I remember watching a warhammer match as a youngster and have a few colleagues really into D&D and Bloodbowl.

Issue is, I've never found the lore around warhammer that appealing. But the other day whilst in my local games shop, I noticed DMH character boxes on the shelf and instantly though 'oh wow what is this?!'. The western lore is right up my creek!

I've seen a 'single player' kit available online, but not really sure how this would work or even if it's similar to the PvP set up at all?

Guess my questions are:

- Is DMH single player worth playing and enjoyable?

- Any painting advice? (Not very artistic, would either ask my girlfriend to paint them or try to find somebody to do it for a fee. I've seen some of the creations posted in this thread and they look amazing!)

- Is this something that will eat all of my money? (Pokemon TCG PTSD)

- Is there an active player community in the UK?

Lastly, any other advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!
