Dream House footage from the Paris show
Honestly one of the best gigs I've ever been to, travelling all the way from Florence to Paris was definitely worth it ♥️

Personally, although I know it would probably never happen, I would love a concert where they only played their less played songs. Setlist something like:
You Without End
Tunnel of Trees
Daedalus
Glint
Vertigo
Luna
Near
And then wrap it up with Dream House of course
Hello,
I’m looking for a ticket for tonight’s concert in Paris. Is anyone selling one through DICE?
Thanks!
Bonjour,
Je recherche un billet pour le concert de ce soir. Est-ce que quelqu'un en vend un via DICE ?
Merci !
The stage is being set for the Motocultor fest show (FR).
I would go for Violet, Dreamhouse, Irrestible, Sunbather, The Pecan Tree, Glint, Heathen and Winona!
Such lovely people. We had a good time talking about the odessy and what not. One of the biggest days of our lifes haha
Not that I must come to the rescue for an album I love, but I figured I would share why I love it.
I am a visual artist (and besides loving the visuals for Deafheaven’s entire discography) I am obsessed either way art that prominently features Contrast. I am a little late to the game with his band as I’ve only been listening for about two years now …but, another visual artist that features great contrast is Gustave Klimt. His work has intricate patterns with gold and gorgeous pops of color… but the facial portraits are organic, smoothly blended realism… a great contrast with the rest of the canvases
In music I also gravitate towards great contrasts. Elliott Smith wrote beautiful melodies that the Beatles would envy contrasted with devastating lyrics about addiction and loss. Sonic Youth has poppy structured songs that melt into seas of distortion. My favorite metal band is SIGH, who’s albums are like an amusement park ride that goes from BM to pretty much everything else on earth
Which brings me to OCHL. To me, it strikes the perfect balance between the harsh vocals and the beautiful, dreamy, Shoegaze compositions. I love all of their albums, but I feel like each of the others lead a little too much towards one of the other. Where is this one walks the line perfectly.
TLDR: I love this album because to me its the perfect mix of “Black” & “Gaze”
Just one man’s opinion, and I felt like sharing here.
off festival, katowice
i dont listen to blackgaze that much, but this show changed my perception
this is my first voice cover ever, hope u enjoy it.
I was at the Deafheaven show in Dresden at Blauer Salon last night (August 12) and during Dream House, George jumped into the pit and handed me the microphone and I got to sing into it (growl) for Dream House. “I’m dying. Is it blissful?”
It was genuinely the best concert experience I’ve ever had. If anyone was there and happened to film that part, please send me the video/picture 😭 I would absolutely love to have a copy of it. I was right near the barrier (near the right side of the stage), so if you were filming from the front, there’s a good chance you might have caught it. Thank you!!
Interesting that they ended up only releasing Black Brick of the apparent 2 completed B-Sides in existence from OCHL
or is this YouTube video luckily predicting deafheavens use of the visual motif back in 2015
Great video I got of Revelator from the Perth show last month, 10/10 maybe best show of the year
I lived in Brooklyn for about a decade and went to 285 Kent many times. During the end of shows there, to destroy diy venues for Vice offices, and at Death by Audio and adjacent spaces they held one last month of shows and every day had a show with a secret guest. My buddy and I went to see Alberich, Kris Lapke who records/masters Prurient and many others, and Wolf Eyes who headlined the show, or so I thought. It was unusually packed for a noise show. Apparently everyone except my buddy and I knew the secret guest, as those were playing every last show in the spaces the month before they all closed for good. 285 Kent was just one big room. Not even that big just long maybe 200-300 people. So we stuck around and I unintentionally was exposed to Deafheaven with Sunbather live. Instantly loved them and still do. Have seen them 4 more times but nothing compares to having no idea who they are and getting a performance that blows you away!
I just wanted to share how much this song has been playing on repeat lately. I found a tab from ultimate-guitar (thanks and bless you UG user - Skippyguy) and I've been recording the loops, deleting them, and re recording them because it's just so much fun to build the song back up every time.
That being said, I think it's the perfect interlude (kinda funny that an interlude on a Deafheaven album is practically a full-length song for some others, timewise) between Dream House and Sunbather, and the way that Kerry has composed it to practically sound like the end of Dream House, almost as if it was supposed to be the outro just makes it even more missable if you're not looking at timestamps, and just listening to the album.
PS: loving the posts that everyone's sharing from the tour. Please keep them coming!!! until they come to my country, I doubt I'll be able to see them live, and to receive an embrace from George would be beyond imaginable.
