Finished my first Defiler. Fully magnetized. Pretty happy now^^
Personally i find its overcosted for what it does.
Low durability, medium weaponry, and granted a strong artillery canon. But no worthwhile melee weapon.
I have had 0 good experiences with them, even fielding more than one doesent boast any good result, damage is always subpar due to low shots and the mortar is quite hit or miss itself.
I know its heavily beloved, but i just dont see its benefit.
Or im just using it wrong, i cant really tell.
I just feel that such a large tank, to that point price, should be tougher or am i just talking out of my ass here.
I found out the hard way that death guard do not do well going into Tau shooty shoot, playing against a friend of mine and did not know how hard the tau shoot into death guard, only played against tau one other time, was teaching game for him and learning experience for me…
I could paint him up in Khorne-ish beauty but at the same time I do love my Deathguard and kitbashing.....
Three together a malignant PlagueCaster for a meme list I came up with, wanting to know if this works thus far,I think it’s nearly perfect but wanted to hear other opinions
How do you pick a color palette for your death guard? I love how they look and what everyone manages to do. But when I try on cheaper models they seem.. off just with the colors, except if I follow some preexisting palette.
Is there an easy trick to pick a good color combination or just paint with whatever?
I plan to use the BLT’s as most people do as a big old 10 man shooting brick. It seems that the 3 extra attacks from the flail of corruption isn’t worth giving up the extra shooting. You lose an AP and a ranged attack for 3 extra melee attacks.
Interesting for me, at least! Obviously the first one had far more experimentation combined with less skill and poorer choices, but I do have a soft spot for the stinky guy. He was my first model painted after about 10 years. The one on the right is my latest after a few solid months of painting. The biggest difference is thinning out my washes!
As I'm not planning on repainting, my head cannon is that the one on the left has been corrupting for centuries, whereas the cleaner one is a relatively recent convert.
I do love developing as a painter, and it's fascinating to see my style change even over a short amount of time.
I'd love to see your comparisons, much like mine!
It's not a flail it's a swing for his buddy
My girlfriend says his demon pauldron looks like, quote, that gross squishy one from Ghostbusters 🤣
Finished this deadly machine for my first painting competition at the end of May. But it won't retire to a shelf after of course, it will become a leading piece for my first army.
I'm very proud of this, and even though I won't expect an award of any kind, I'm excited to show off and meet other painters. The journey to this hobby has been amazing so far, and I'm glad my first army will be Death Guards.
Very happy with how it turned out
I’ve been having some trouble lately lol
Typhus “diorama” would like some feedback on composition
Afternoon . I still consider myself pretty new but I have had this idea for a little bit and I am planning on making this my summer project (dad with young kids not a lot of time). I would like to make this as best as I can to enter my next local comp so some feedback on the composition would be helpful and I’m hoping to provide progress pics going forward. The pox walkers will be coming out of some green nurgle mud and the little lord will be dancing on the tree underneath some dripping blood from the helmet in typhus hand.
