Deel holds my funded payment for a week own money for no reason

My June invoice s fully funded by my client. The money is sitting in Deel's account right now. But my payout won't be released until over a week.

Think about that model for a second: they hold funded payments until an arbitrary date, and the only bridge across the gap they created is a paid product. The float on thousands of contractors' funded-but-held invoices, plus advance fees from the ones who can't wait that's revenue built on delay.

Questions for other contractors:

  • Has anyone EVER gotten a funded invoice released before the due date? Even once?
  • Does anyone know if Deel earns interest on funded-but-unreleased balances?
  • is there any official policy justification for not releasing funded payments?

Lost money - no support at all

I just lost $18,450 USD from my @deel account.
I’m a freelancer and a software engineer, and this is honestly one of the scariest financial product experiences I’ve ever had.
My account had 2FA enabled. The money still got withdrawn through a flow that should never exist.

Here’s what happened:

I got paid through Deel.
The payment landed in my Deel account.
A crypto withdrawal was initiated via BVNK.
Deel sent an email containing a link.
That link opened a page with an input box asking for a crypto address.

There was no proper re-authentication.
No 2FA challenge.
No device verification.
No withdrawal address confirmation.
No meaningful protection before sending $18,450 out.
And @deel support has not responded for 12+ hours.
This is unacceptable and needs urgent attention.

Deel employee reviews Europe/Germnay

Hi all. I am trying to get into deel in operations department in hr or people ops....I used to have a boss who was very toxic and with him it was like I am working 24/7 , no sense of boundaries, texting me in middle of the night to get the work done that is actually his. I don't want to end up with such people again...I am burn out and the another reason is the job I have doesn't suit me and or my boss never supported my authorities plus I joined as a intern this gives other people opportunity to walk all over me even some interns who are just older than me .....the end thing is I don't want to end up in a situation where I work but I am reviewed on the basis of other people performance, I wanna get a job where k build things and that bring me satisfaction ....and I don't want to jump from one toxic boss to another

Deel EOR in Portugal – what usually happens if the client stops paying Deel?

Hi everyone,

I’m employed in Portugal through Deel as an EOR employee for 2 years.

This is currently hypothetical, but I’m trying to understand what normally happens if the end client stops paying Deel.
My understanding is that under Portuguese labour law an employer generally can’t just terminate an employee overnight without following the proper process, and dismissal usually requires a legally valid reason (“just cause” or another lawful termination route).

Has anyone actually been through a situation where a client stopped paying Deel?
Did Deel continue paying salaries while the situation was being resolved?
If the client relationship ended, what happened to employees?
Did Deel pursue a formal termination process, redundancy, mutual agreement, or something else?
In practice, would an EOR like Deel often prefer to negotiate a settlement agreement rather than go through a longer termination process in Portugal?
I’m not looking for legal advice, just real-world experiences from people who have been employed through Deel (or another EOR) in Portugal.
Thanks in advance.
