Prince of Persia: Revelations and Prince of Persia: Rival Swords delisted on PS Vita Store?

I’ve been trying to look for the games on there because Sony just announced they were shutting down the store next year and they seem to be gone? Idk if it is a glitch with my account or not.

End of Physical Media Mega-thread

Hey folks, I've seen a few of these kind of threads pop up, so I figured a custom mega-thread was in order.

Feel free to discuss PlayStation ending their physical discs, other console makers potentially going all digital, how you feel that does or does not affect you, etc.

If anyone cares, I decided to include my reasoning to make this its own thread, as opposed to the standard Open Discussion thread. This part is safe to skip.

On one hand, I agree that Sony (and likely Microsoft, considering their previous plans) shutting down physical discs very much does affect r/delisted. Until now, if a console game got delisted, you could still get the game on physical. Cases like the recent Condemned: Criminal Origins being pulled from the Xbox Store. That's bad, but at least you could buy a disc off eBay and still play it on your Xbox Series X. Pretty soon, things like that probably won't be an option, and that's bad for everyone.

That said, there's not a lot of actionable advice that can come out of these sorts of posts. It's different than an impending digital storefront shutdown, with their lists of online-exclusive games and advice and such. If Sony decides to stop selling discs, we can't really do anything about it. You won't be able to find the one store still making new Sony game discs, etc.

So, that's why I believe a general post about the PS3 digital store shutting down (and how to get as many games as possible) should stay up, while folks should try to keep keep End of Physical Media stuff in this thread.

Have fun talking,

And as always, be nice!

No more physical copies of games from 2028

We've all heard by now, and none of us are happy with it. This isn't a positive at all. You can't be that stupid, insane or that much of a suck up to agree with it.

But saying that, surely there's something us Gamers can do, right? Not just Sony but XBox owners and even PC gamers because you can guarantee their going to fuck you over in some way some time inevitably.

Can we make a petition? (Ask all major gaming channels/personalities on Twitch/YouTube. Otherwise, people just wouldn't sign it or do shit)

Boycott digital altogether?

(For starters maybe we should all tell GTA 6 to get fucked)

I don't know what to think or how to hope for positive outcomes for gamers in near and far distant future.

Also, I wouldn't be happy if it were digital games that were gone as well.

We've the right to ownership

And we've have the right to choose how we purchase anything we want to potentially fucking own.

As well return or give it away if we feel like it.

Rant over.

Peace ✌️

Good luck

Happy gaming for as long as it lasts.

PS3 and PS Vita Stores shutting down, where you live will affect when this happens.

Global shutdown date: July 2027 for both PS3 and PS Vita stores

Earliest closures: Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua lose PS3 store access in August 2026

Late 2026: PS3 store closes across additional Latin American and Middle Eastern countries

July 2027: PS3 and PS Vita stores close everywhere else, including the US and UK

What still works after closure: Previously purchased content stays downloadable

What’s gone for good: No new digital purchases once each region’s store closes

While I know a lot of people will find other methods to put games onto these systems, I know some people out there still buy them. If you’re one of those people, be sure to pick up what you want before you can’t anymore in your region.

While they say you’ll still be able to download previously purchased games, who knows how long that will be the case for. I’d download what you own to your hard drive and call it good.

FYI this game is only available physical, can't find it on the store unless you bought it before it got delisted.

Just to make an awareness, this will not be the last time it happens. One day, some games will cease to exist because they delist them digital and physical is dead.

Delisted Open Discussion Thread - July 2026

Your place to discuss delisted games!

This post will stay stickied for (at least) July 2026.

Use this thread to:

  • Ask questions about buying delisted games (legally, of course).
  • Talk about "the one that got away" and other nostalgia.
  • Post screenshots of your delisted collection.
  • Anything else related to delisted videogames that is not advanced warning of an impending delisting or a post about a relisted game.

Per the new Rule 5, any "open discussion" type posts made outside this thread will be deleted.

And as always, all the standard rules apply, so be good to each other.

Possible delistings coming for TC Ghost Recon: Desert Siege and Island Thunder

This is the first time these games have not gone on sale for the annual Summer Sale. These games used to go on sale frequently but haven’t been discounted since March. Ubisoft has a history of ending sales before delisting.

There are no 3rd party Steam keys for Ubisoft games so when they are gone they are gone for good

Double Fine Productions's rumored potential closure or independence could lead to delistings of LucasArts licensed remastered

Do note: XBOX Games Studios and Bethesda have NO history of delisting games when they close down or sell studios. I see no indication here of any of these games from these studios getting delisted, besides the ones directly mentioned in this post.

Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games and Double Fine productions getting supposedly closed down is also so far just a rumor. Even that these two studios are still negotiating going independent is also just a rumor.

Not sure if Double Fine would be able to go independent. This likely depends on the studio heads being able to find an investor to back them, which sadly doesn't always happen. With Double Fine being relatively small and their titles being also more niche, I suspect they don't have the funds themselves for a management buyout. Also depends on XBOX's willingness to be flexible of course, but well... we're hitting a black box there....

The only games that I see actually having potential for being delisted are the select three Double Fine Productions published (NOT XBOX) remasters, which were produced based on licensing with Lucasarts/Disney from before Double Fine Joined XBOX.

Lucasfilm/Disney still own those intellectual property rights to these three games. I think those licenses might expire at or a while after Double Fine's closure, it going independent or being sold... if that really happens.

The remasters were seemingly co-developed by Shiny Shoe, Yotta and Super Genius, according to their credits. With all these companies all seemingly never having self-published a title, them taking over the titles, seems unlikely.

I don't see XBOX themselves having interest in extending the license deal with Disney, as that likely wouldn't be profitable. If Double Fine would cease to exist, XBOX would maybe need to re-negotiate a new licensing contract, as again, Double Fine made that deal and self-publishes it to this day. There is no indication that this licensing deal was transferred to XBOX during the takeover; seemingly stayed with Double Fine themselves. Again, don't see XBOX going through the effort to secure the license deal's future.

If Double Fine would be able to go independent, the license deal likely sticks with them. Still, extending that probably quite expensive license in the future, might not be doable for them anymore either with probably then limited funds. This might again lead to a delisting, although maybe slightly later.

Lastly, with Disney delisting many of their self-published games earlier this year and having expressed in the past to have no interest in self-publishing video game titles anymore, I don't see Disney itself willing to take over the publishing responsibilities for this game.

The three remasters are currently on sale:

Edit: u/GamePitt_Rob noted that these remasters are supposedly being published by Disney Interactive themselves on other platforms than PC. I can confirm this to be only very partially true; the games are only published by Disney Interactive on the much later re-released PlayStation versions. Double Fine still self-publishes these titles on mobile platforms, itch.io, Hunble Bundle, GOG, Steam and Switch. XBOX publishes the game on XBOX. Not sure if Disney would be taking over the publishing responsibilities for all the other versions, if the situation would require it due to all previously stated factors.

Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection 1 & 3 Delisted?

I've noticed that Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection 1 & 3 have seemingly been delisted from the Nintendo eShop. Has there been any news from Edia as to why this is the case?

Funko Fusion historical low on Steam(potential future delisting)

Game is at less than $2 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1843310/Funko_Fusion/

Considering the amount of licensed characters it has and how bad it did reviews wise I think this might be worth picking up before its delisted. There's a bunch of free DLC too(Team Fortress 2, Back to the future, etc)
