Ladies!! Did you know there has only been 2 women that have won the comedy works new faces contest in the last 2 decades? 🥵😱😅

I love everyone performing on new faces at this moment in time. But! Did you know there’s only been 2 women in the last 2 decades to win it? And zero queer people?! We still have 12 women/queer left in the second round to go up and 3 shows left!

Just sayinnnnng! How cool would it be for one of us to get it! I have some hilarious ones in my round tomorrow too! It is at the South Club, 7:30 pm annnd I definitely am sure all of us have comps left! Call the club and ask to be on my list! Or anyone of the other fantastic beings left.

Come on y’all! We need at least one or two in the finals! DM me for names to get comps my she/theys

Save the Date: Middle Age Baddies Meetup (MA'BAM...?) - Sept 4, 6-9pm, ArtPark 1st Friday

Hello again & thank you all so much for showing interest in this thing!

Hopefully someone else gets a kick out of my attempt at a whimsical acronym name for the group...if you have any ideas/suggestions, happy to hear

I wanted to find something not too far in the future, though can give folks enough time to plan for....that isn't too spendy, and also centrally located.

All that said, without further adieu....

WHO: Anyone identifying as in middle age & a woman (that includes *anyone*)

WHAT: Food trucks, live music, 1st Friday return to RiNO, new friends?

WHERE: ArtPark First Friday Festival in front of Denver Zine Library/Bob Ragland Branch

WHEN: Friday, September 4, 6 pm (the website says it ends at 9, though folks are welcome to keep hanging)

WHY: New friends & growth in middle age is *HARD!*

Apparently you can get 50% off a drink by RSVP'ing on their site also here: https://rinoartdistrict.multipass.com/first-friday-festival-september

I will def. wear some kind of funky hat/shirt/dress/carry a sign & let y'all know - hope to see you there!

First time and solo traveller in DEN

Hi everyone I’m visiting from Aus and have a couple days in the city Saturday night - Tuesday morning.

I’ve never been before so I’m curious as to where most people spend their time. I’m in my mid 20s and hoping to meet people and go out a fair bit. Is it more bars or a club scene there? I know there’s a baseball game on the Sunday - does it get rowdy? Does everyone pre before the game and then go back to the bars after it’s finished?

Any suggestions anything would be great ! Will be here at the end of the month

EDIT - What’s the best area to stay in? I’ve seen a couple of suggestions about Golden. Assuming Downtown is close to everything, is there anywhere else to look at?

Did the middle-age women meetup just totally go poof?

I saw someone post a "speed friend" event recently for women 30/40/50's and then saw the subsequent posts about agism....was this cancelled? I am 41F anyhow, currently going through some of the most lonely and challenging mental and social health issues of my lifetime, and hoping to rebuild/find a strong positive community. I was going to check out this event, though I guess the hate got too bad?

I am open to friends of all ages anyhow, and would love to start something like this for "our" people -- just a monthly, cozy time for women to connect about life and the boat we are all in together...enjoy food and a drink, maybe do some crafting, I am open

I am not a huge drinker, though love a good coffee or tea (also 420 friendly). I love dancing, bookstores, thrift shopping, museums, festivals, etc. I see so many posts here and the regular Denver reddit extolling the woes of meeting people/making friends, and I feel them with all my heart, especially as someone close to turning 42

It would be cool to have a monthly regular meetup (no age cut-off, but also just a caveat that the focus is on "middle age" -- however you define that, I know there's no clear cut off! All ages would be welcome), that could maybe turn into whatever other socializing organically as happens. What do you all think? Am I just having wishful thinking that people could come together like this? (and if so, feel free to DM!)

EDIT: Thank you all so much for showing interest! STAY TUNED!

How do you know when you’re actually ready to date?

I recently started talking to a guy on a dating app. I’ve been using the app for about a month, and honestly, it has given me more stress than hope.
For the first time, I met someone from the same religion, so I thought there might be a real possibility of something long-term. He was handsome, respectful, well-mannered, attentive, and genuinely interested in knowing me. He accepted my personality without judging me and had almost every quality someone could want.
But after talking a few times, I realized I simply wasn’t attracted to him. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he asked me to give him six months and not completely close the possibility of us being together. I felt terrible because he hadn’t done anything wrong—but I also couldn’t lie to him or force feelings that weren’t there.
I’m demisexual, so physical attraction usually comes only after I feel deeply emotionally connected and in love. When I love someone, I love them completely. I can be incredibly affectionate, passionate, and emotionally and physically present because my feelings are real.
But without that connection, I cannot pretend. I can’t perform attraction just to make someone happy. I would probably sit there feeling cold and disconnected, and I wouldn’t be comfortable having sex. That wouldn’t be fair to either of us.
This made me delete the dating app because maybe I’m simply not emotionally ready. But then how do you know when you are ready? Do you keep meeting people and wait for a connection to grow, or step away until dating no longer feels stressful? And for other demisexual people—how do you date without feeling pressured to become physically intimate before genuine attraction develops?

Any interest in a Ladies Fantasy Football League?

I'd like to put together a fantasy league with Denver based women. I did this last year and majority of the group stuck it through to the end!

This year we'll use the Sleeper app again, it's beginner friendly. Buy in $15, draft early September.

All levels, beginner friendly. Thinking we can also have a get together at least once or twice at a bar to watch some football. For reals this time since it didn't happen last year.

12 teams -14 teams (people) - DM if interested

BEWARE!/ Has anyone else seen this person?

Over the past several weeks, this individual has repeatedly been standing outside our home for long periods of time and looking into our windows. They always have their face covered.

We have reported the situation to police. I’m posting to make others in the area aware and to see if anyone else has encountered this person or experienced similar behavior. This is near the College Ave area. Please DM me if you have any information. (Sry for the blurry pics it’s the only ones I could get)

Protest dialed in gummies

Like dialed in gummies? Please consider protesting buying anymore immediately.

There is a VP there who’s the buddy of the new-ish owner. He repeatedly talks in meetings about raping women by giving them extra strong gummies. This has been escalated to HR but so far there’s no traction because of nepotism.

Weed industry is too big to let fuck boys be successful. Buy something else.

Women over 50 - we don't need an event

I saw a recent post here about an event for women 30-50 that explicitly excluded those over 50.

So that bothered me. I feel like we don't need to be part of an event to just want to do something on our own.

Would anyone be interested in a get together of some kind for women who were excluded?

(And no hard and fast age rules, nobody is checking ID)

DENVER/COLORADO BUYERS -WARNING: DO NOT BUY BOCCHELLI JEWELRY

I’m posting this because I do not want anyone else losing money to this company.

I was a repeat customer and purchased multiple pieces from Bochelli that were advertised as solid 14K gold. I later had my jewelry independently tested, and the results showed the pieces were not solid 14K gold as advertised. Other customers have also tested their jewelry and reported similar results.
The company has been contacted for refunds, but customers have reported being ignored. The original website/product information has also been changed or removed, while Bochelli jewelry is still being sold on eBay.

The official Colorado Secretary of State records list Gail J. Webb as the registrant of the Bochelli Jewelry trade name. I’m attaching the official record so people can verify it themselves.
Colorado Secretary of State business search:
https://www.coloradosos.gov/biz/BusinessFunctions.do

Older public records also connect Gail Webb with Premiere Persian Rugs/Blast from the Past in Loveland, and older local reporting describes her as an online seller with a long history involving eBay and Craigslist.
This is also getting attention on TikTok. Search “Bochelli Jewelry” to see customers posting their experiences and testing results.

If you purchased from Bochelli, save your original listings, receipts, emails, photos, screenshots and testing results.
You can report your experience to:
FBI IC3: https://www.ic3.gov/
FTC: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/
Colorado AG: https://coag.gov/file-complaint/
Colorado CBI: https://cbi.colorado.gov/
BBB Scam Tracker: https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/reportscam
Colorado buyers — please do your research before buying. DO NOT BUY based solely on a seller’s claim that the jewelry is solid 14K gold.
