Do they ever come back in stock?

Not new to diamond painting, but I've had a long hiatus from doing one. I'm sorry if this is dumb, I haven't purchased a DAC painting from their website before.

I've subscribed to maybe...12-13 of these paintings now to get an email when they come back in stock, my longest one I've been waiting for a year, most recent a month. I haven't gotten a single email (regularly checking my spam)! It feels like they have way more paintings out of stock than in stock. I'm reading about how they DO archive them when they have no intent for them to ever come back, but the one I subscribed to a year ago is still listed and findable.

Because these are so large and time consuming, I want to pick one that I really want to do. For some reason I can find people way overcharging for them on Mercari (2, 3x the cost), which I don't understand. I didn't think there was such an enormous market of people looking for these that there would be scalpers?? Do they do super duper limited runs of each?

How do you manage a large canvas?

Hi! I recently purchased the DAC painting “Ocean Eyes” by Margaret Morales as my first ever diamond painting. I was super excited and failed to look at the size, and accidentally got a 22”x29” canvas as my first ever DA project.

I started by doing one color at a time, which feels the most organized and satisfying to me, but I realized that it’s causing problems with the sectioned covers and spaces of glue being exposed to air. The only other way I can think to do it is one square at a time- which seems super unorganized and would require a ton of back and forth between constantly pouring out drills and putting them back. Does anyone have any other methods they use to manage a large canvas? Any help would be appreciated!

Diamond storage

Hello, I'm newish to DAC and recently finished my first project. (Sesame Street stickers). Anyway, I have some extra diamonds and am not sure what to do with them. Do you guys keep them? Throw them out? Not sure what to do here.

Also, I'm doing smaller projects, but how are you guys transporting them. I'm traditionally a scrapbooker, but don't want it getting mixed up with other stuff and ruined. I saw some small cases for the diamonds, but that's about it.

Any advice would be great. Thank you.

Shocked

so I have been wanted to do a DAC project but really can’t afford it. I found one I have been looking for on eBay at a reasonable price, sort of. it came today and I almost passed out. the thing is huge! not sure why I didn’t notice the dimensions before I purchased. it is so big that it is kind of a joke. are they all like that? I originally bought the same one on another site but thought the rendering was not great. now I am returning the DAC and finishing the first version. The size was 22 x 43 so I should have been aware I guess.it was just a shock.

Did I mess up where I started my painting?

I’m sure this has been asked before but the questions I’ve seen people were smart and asked before they began.

I’m used to doing small, lesser quality paintings in my lap. I’m doing Christmas Ornament by Theresa Donahue McManus (22x22) and am over 1/3 of the way done. I’m used to starting bottom right since I am right handed so I have a place to rest my hand and peel the film up. I don’t have to do that with DAC paintings because of the sectioned film but it didn’t occur to me to do anything differently.

I’m at my kitchen table and am now having to reach a ways. I can always turn it but the middle is what I’m going to struggle with.

Any advice (besides starting at the top next time)?

Finally feel like I'm making progress!

I'm excited now because I'm able to roll the top of the canvas! I had such a hard time with set up from trying to do too much 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I'm doing much better now. I can't wait to see this keep coming together. It's so much fun & I can't decide which part is my favorite, the colors or the picture of Claude & Claudette 😂😂

Have been banned from the VIP FB group

Someone posted an AI image asking who the artist was, and I commented to tell them the image was AI. I got a weeks ban for it. Anyone experienced similar? Can’t figure out why they allow AI artwork but won’t allow the word to be mentioned?

Bored.

Be honest… does anyone else hit the halfway mark on a diamond painting and immediately start fantasizing about abandoning it for a shiny new one? Or am I the only chaos demon here? 😂

Context: I’ve got FOUR gorgeous DACs giving me the side-eye, fully ready to go… while I’m stuck halfway through another one that I swear I loved a week ago. They’re all beautiful, but my brain is out here acting like a kid in a candy store: ‘But what if we started THAT one instead?’ ‘It has glow in the dark drillssssss!”

The moment I try to ‘be responsible’ and power through, it turns into a full-on chore and my soul leaves my body. 😭✨

Please tell me I’m not the only one with diamond painting commitment issues!

✌🏻♥️🌮

WIP Wild Africa DAC

I spy a bird 🐦 I'm unfortunately having to seal as I go, which I have never had to do. One color drill is hollow on the bottom and keeps popping up. I've got more drills on the way.
