For starters, I'm a moderate fan of both bands.

Been trying to get more into Dino Jr lately and listened to "Freak Scene" for the first time. It instantly made me think of "Incinerate".

I know, of course, they're related through musical history, but I couldn't help but think that "Incinerate" borrowed several song-writing pieces directly.

1. The drums sound almost identical both throughout the song and in the parts where the drummers alternate between toms and the standard rhythm.

2. In transition points they both emphasize a double heavy strum on the guitar.

There are probably more details but this is what's off the top of my head. It's probably just coincidence but not many songs strike me as directly similar in core musical ways so I thought I'd ask if anyone else has noticed. Would love to hear vocals and music swapped on both!

Just curious, do we know what specific gear (bass, pedals, amps) Lou used in the 80s on Dinosaur Jr stuff? I love the sound of the bass on Dinosaur, YLAOM, and Bug, but most of what I see on places like equipboard is either Sebadoh or post-reunion Dinosaur Jr gear for Lou. If anyone has a link to or just flat out knows what Lou used on recordings, I'd love to find out!

Edit: I know a Grabber was Lou’s primary early Dino bass, but as far as amps and pedals? Or alternative basses for recording?

via Adam Harding - "I was first introduced to the music of ‘80s UK all-girl band Fuzzbox about 25 years ago by Lou Barlow. On our cover of Love is the Slug, Lou plays baritone guitar and bass guitar and also sings the middle section. Dale Crover plays drums.

I’ve recorded many songs with these two legends over the years but never before now had them both play together on the same song. I don’t know why it took so long, but better late than never.

Alright everyone. We’re Henry Ford Is Dead, a three-piece out of Middlesbrough, UK, and today we just dropped our debut single, "Good as Gone."

We all grew up on a heavy diet of Sonic Youth, noise rock, and post-punk, and we really wanted to capture that raw, driving energy in our own sound. We finally hit a professional studio back in May to track this, and as the bass player, I love how thick and relentless the rhythm section turned out.

If you're into loud guitars and gritty post-punk vibes, we think you'll like this one.
