Found a secret on the Disclosure day's poster
I think I know when Disclosure Day takes place
Hello people,
I don’t know if anyone else has pointed this out already, but after rewatching the trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, I think I may have figured out when the movie takes place.
One detail that stood out to me is that one of the characters specifically mentions a “79-year cover-up.” That phrasing felt oddly specific to me. Especially when you compare it to Age of Disclosure, where the guests and director Dan Farah repeatedly refer to an “80-year cover-up.”
So I started wondering: why say 79 years instead of just rounding it to 80? It’s a more awkward number, less smooth to say, and feels too deliberate to be random.
Then I did the obvious math.
If the historical starting point is Roswell in 1947, then:
1947 + 79 years = 2026
So my theory is that Disclosure Day is not set in some distant future. It’s set in real time — or at least very close to the present disclosure timeline.
More specifically, I think the movie could be set around the third or fourth quarter of 2026, which also lines up interestingly with statements like Grusch saying to expect the disclosure process to escalate within a 60–90 day window.
Obviously this is speculation, but if the “79-year” line is intentional, then it may be one of the clearest clues in the trailer.
Tl;dr:
I think Disclosure Day takes place in 2026.
And if that’s true, the movie may be framing disclosure not as future fiction, but as something happening alongside us in real time.
70mm or the best Dolby Cinema screen in the area?
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area so I’m lucky to be spoiled for choice when it comes to great theatres. I can’t make up my mind between these two options:
70mm at Grand Lake in Oakland
Dolby Cinema on the large 2.39:1 scope screen at AMC Mercado 20
Pros of Dolby: I have A-List so I don’t have to pay for it and the seats are gonna be more comfortable. Sound will be better and the screen will likely be brighter.
Pros of Grand Lake: film, baby!
I may well end up seeing it at both, but if you had to pick only one… which one would you pick?
Official Final Trailer for Disclosure Day
As an experiencer this trailer made me feel very deeply about this topic. We are the knowers - not the believers. Speilberg says in this trailer "This is the truth" - go ahead and think this is just a movie. I assure you - it is not. This is a line in the sand. This is disclosure. Woo and all - this is what we experience.
Opening day or IMAX for Disclosure Day
I am currently in a country that does not have any IMAX cinemas so my choice is either I watch it opening day on a standard screen or i wait till like June 21st- 24th to watch it in IMAX
