I Think I'll Sample a Chapter...

Discount Dan has been on my radar for quite a while. I read Parade of Horribles and a non-fiction book about a specific topic of interest to me and decided, before I started my domestic chores, to sample a chapter.

Two Hundred Pages Later...

The sun is rising, I don't have any clean laundry, and my sink has some dishes. (I work night shift and keep the same sleep schedule)

Alas, I had to exit The Backrooms to attend to real life tasks. I finally have time to read!

Only for Mr. Hunter to tug at my heartstrings with the story of Gertrude. 😭

They HAVE to avenge her! They better avenge her. They ought to avenge her. It's the right thing to do!!!

Princess Donut and Croc

Been reading discount Dan and really enjoying the series so far. I especially love the character Croc. I thought it’d be fun to 3-D sculpt a scene where Croc wants to play with donut, but donuts not having it.

Im goingbto say this ive listen to alot of litrpg books in the last year and after the last 10 days I can comfortably say Discount Dan belongs with DCC. James if you see this you earn my praise. Im going to highly promote your series.

I hope ill see you in Alabama one day. Imgoing to need some signatures and stuff!

So im avidly listening to Kiosk Kingdom while driving, and happened to hear something I thought id misheard. The character named was Croc but the actions that followed described Jacob.

Kiosk Kingdom - It's not X, it's Y

I've started reading Kingdom and noticed a strange literary tic that I didn't see in the previous books. Over and over, the prose will say "it wasn't X, it was Y", or a similar variation. The final scene with Nikolai was probably the most notable example.

What's up with that?

Just a question or theory

As i read Kiosk Theory i feel like Dans gonna be Water vs Fire against the the Monarch. Anyone else get that same feeling?
