I'm using dosbox on a batocera build and I'm trying to use a joystick for the dos games and I'm having mixed results.
I can get some functions to work but not all and I'm really struggling.
Does someone have a good step by step of how you get joysticks set up?
I'd really appreciate the help.

I have installed Windows 98 on my android TV. The Windows installed fine, I shut it down correctly after the installation through the start menu.
But when I closed the content and wanted to load it again, there wasn't any option to "run installed os".
The installed img is in retroarch/system, I have tired to load it manually, but it just says no executable found. (EDIT: there is an option for boot from the image, but then the black screen appears saying "Unable to boot off of drive C")
I've installed Windows properly with no errors, everything was running fine. I also have shut it down correctly.
Could I have done anything wrong to corrupt the img file or what could be the reason please?
Well try the original Cave Story freeware and Doesn't work but Nothing happens. but will try orgview and works! but this is a app player music not a game. Reclamer: Do not use cave story libretro cores.

so the game is amazing spider-man and captain america in dr. dooms revenge. i drag and drop the file onto dos box and it boots it up. it asks if i have joystick(ive tried both Y and N) then it asks several questions like video/color mode(ive tried all 3), difficulty, and 2 trivia questions. then it gets to a screen talking about saving the game as a bookmark, using sound with sound .com file and from here no matter what i push it proceeds to a blank page and i cant do anything.
does any recommend some dos shooter game not just doom and duke nukem like something that people never heard off
I tried to remap arrow keys to WSAD. SO first, like in the guide i found, i deleted all the bidings for WSAD keys and then mapped arrows to them. However after saving game is simply ignoring the maping and i cannot mov with WSAD. What may be causing this problem? The binds save properly cause after rstarting dosbox mapper shows binds on WSAD for directional keys but it seem just not to affect th game.
This is not game specific issue as the remaps do not work also in Dosbox promptline. The remaps are also shown in .map file. I tried to change the path to mapfile in conf to absolute (C:\FOLDER\MAPFILE.MAP) but it changes nothing. Dosbox completly ignores th file.

I am currently working on a Windows 98 configuration.I have Win98 running and would like to mount my physical CDROM drive from Cachyos. Also, I don't really want to create ISO files for my CDs. Oddly enough, Win98's Explorer crashes when I start Windows via the Custom Config.

Booting Win98 the default way works fine.
Any Ideas?
