hi! i’m an incoming g11 from a regional pisay campus and i’m hoping to apply for intarmed. i wanted to ask for honest opinions from current intarmed students/qualifiers.

here’s my academic background:

g7: 1.50
g8: 1.44
g9: 1.47
g10: 1.36
aiming to improve even more in g11 (hopefully)

i’ve also joined various competitions throughout high school, although i wouldn’t say i have outstanding leadership. my leadership positions were:

g7: sgt. at arms
g8: pio
g9: none
g10: none
not planning to join the student council bcs i feel like the workload is tremendously gonna take a toll on my grades & mental health 🥲

my teachers have described me as diligent, and my friends would probably say the same. i genuinely enjoy studying and have always taken academics seriously.
i have a few questions:

- based on my profile, do i have a realistic shot at intarmed? i’m not from pisay main campus, so i’m wondering if that significantly affects my chances.
for those who got in, what did your profile look like (gwa, extracurriculars, leadership, awards, etc.)?
- i’m also considering applying to universities abroad that offer full-ride scholarships. my grades are fairly strong, but i know my leadership isn’t as impressive as many applicants’. should i still give it a shot, or would i realistically be at too much of a disadvantage?
- for context, i’m from mindanao and come from a middle-income family, so i can’t really commit to private universities in the philippines unless i receive substantial scholarships.

i’d really appreciate honest feedback. i don’t mind hearing that i need to improve, i just want a realistic idea of where i stand. thanks!

Hi! I’m currently taking summer classes, and our term won’t end until july 25 🥹

I’m worried because I might not be able to submit the additional requirements before then. Would that automatically disqualify me from the DOST JLSS application, or is it still possible to become a potential qualifier and submit the requirements later?

Has anyone been in the same situation before? I’d really appreciate any advice or if you can share your experience. Thank you so much!

Hello I have a concern regarding in Form E1 or certification as a regular third year student. I would like to ask what to do if hindi makapag-submit ng Form E1 because I’m not enrolled by the time of deadline sa july 24. Ayaw pa kasi pirmahan ng registrar namin yung Form E1 since hindi pa naman ako enrolled for third year. But the problem is late usually nag-sstart enrollment namin like a week before start ng klase. Last year, July 30 yung start ng enrollment namin. Is there anyone here who applied last year that has the same problem with mine? I’m from UST Engineering btw. Are there also from UST Engineering last yr that has the same case with mine? What did you do po hehe. Sana po masagot huhu tysm🥹!

Hi, is it possible to terminate the scholarship early and only do return of service? Turning 2nd year na po ako soon, but I’m hesitant to enroll again in my current uni in NCR due to financial difficulties. Nagagamit stipends ko for our bills and debts kaya settling the rest of my tuition has always been a challenge. I’m planning on transferring to a uni na malapit and with affordable tuition pero hindi sila DOST accredited.

Sinabi sa amin na ROS daw po if you get terminated due to failing grades, but ayaw ko naman po magbagsak on purpose just to terminate my scholarship. My parent doesnt want me to stop my studies kaya di rin po ako makakapag-LOA

Hi, po! Ask ko lang po, if hindi naman po ako mag rerequest ng LOE for the semester, do I still need to fill up the lower portion of the periodic report? Like check the boxes of the semest and what year or hindi na po need? Thank you!

Hello! ​Required po kasi sa application yung complete grades for the 2nd Semester of 2nd Year. Ang problema po, napaka-unresponsive ng teachers namin sa dalawang natitirang subjects at blanko pa rin yung grades namin sa portal hanggang ngayon. Sobrang lapit na ng July 24 deadline at nag-aalala na po kami na baka ma-forfeit yung application namin kung mag-antay pa kami😭

Okay lang po ba na mag-submit muna ng Certificate of Grades kahit may kulang na dalawang grades? Tatanggapin ba nila or ma-uunder review pa rin ba ang application?🙂‍↕️

Hello po! DOST Merit Undergraduate Scholar graduate po ako. Need ko lang sana ng opinion or advice tungkol sa Return of Service (ROS).

After graduation, nahirapan po akong makahanap ng work kaya nag-work muna ako sa isang BPO company for 6 months. Based sa nababasa ko, since locally employed naman ako noon, mukhang counted naman po iyon sa ROS.

Ang concern ko po ngayon is VA na ako. Client-based na yung work ko (foreign client), wala akong Philippine employer, at hindi rin ako currently naghuhulog ng taxes or government contributions.

May naka-experience na po ba ng ganitong setup? Na-credit po ba yung ROS ninyo? Ano po ang ginawa ninyo at sino ang dapat i-email sa DOST para ma-confirm kung counted ang current work arrangement?

Hi po. Magtatanong lang po sana ako kung terminated na po ba ang scholarship ko? First time ko pong magkaroon ng bagsak, ang kaso po dalawang subject sila this sem. I am currently a 2nd year student po 🥹. Meron na po ba sa inyong same ng case sa akin pero napagbigyan pa rin? Ang nababasa ko po kasi ay bawal magkaroon ng dalawang failing grade in one sem eh. Hello po, good day. Just did the DOST 2026 Exam and boy, my mind already knows I won't pass. It's not that I believe I have low score, it's just that I know people will be higher than me. I'm an engineering student at yung Blue Book ang nakuha ko, the math was easy - mid and the science....meh?!?!?😭😭 Focused sya halos sa chemistry hahahahahahah. So even if easy saken yung math, meaning lang non mas may madadalian pa saken at mas makakataas🥹🥹🥹.

Just saw na halos 13k takers ang JLSS and 600 - 1k lang ang magiging passer, that's a very small number and man I don't think I'm better than others maybe nasa 70th percentile at best lang ako?!? HAHAHAHAHAHHAA.

Just ranting a bit lang po since I know this is a safe space, I've already made up my mind naman na di ako papasa since I can accept that others are higher than me and I'm not saying that to drag myself but to just eliminate the "me" who expects that I will pass.
