I found this Nintendo in my room, it had been stored around 13 years ago and now I connected it to the charger and it only flashes and the screen doesn't turn on.

old photo, but i desperately want to figure this out. this is the second game ive had partially corrupt on me and i cant figure out why.
first game that was corrupted was nintendogs. lost all my dogs and had to start from the beginning, but i somehow didnt lose any of my coins or items?
second time (which is the one photographed) was super mario bros. the only thing it erased was save file 2.
why is it only partially corrupting the games and, more specifically, why is it my dsi thats corrupting them? running any cartridges through my 2ds or ds works just fine, but im getting these weird partial cartridge corruptions on my dsi.
