I want to buy my first dualtron scooter.

Hello everyone. I’m currently trying to decide between buying a Dualtron Thunder 3 for around $3420 USD or a Dualtron Sonic Alien for around $3200 USD.

I would really appreciate honest long-term feedback from people who actually own or have ridden the Sonic Alien extensively. I really like the futuristic design, lighting, display and technology of the Alien, but I’ve also seen several reports in French groups about issues such as the front motor cable/connector overheating or burning due to the high current output of the scooter.

I’ve also read some comments mentioning battery movement/shaking inside the deck when riding over rough roads or bumps. Have any of you experienced these issues personally? If so, after how many kilometers/miles?

Another thing I’m concerned about is the CAN BUS system used on the Sonic Alien. Does it make the scooter significantly harder to modify compared to older Dualtrons? For example:

- adding or modifying external batteries,

- changing battery configurations,

- modifying performance parameters,

- or replacing components.

Would you personally choose the Thunder 3 or the Sonic Alien considering reliability, long-term ownership and overall riding experience?

Thank you in advance for any honest opinions and real-world experiences.

Guess who's screwed

I've been riding my Rovoron R7 for two months now and already put 900km on it. The steering column's base just gave up on me.

I'd have bought an upper folding mechanism for 50€ and installed it myself if this model was made like every other Dualtron/Minimotors.

Except it's not. The ROVORON R7s column and upper folding mechanism are a single piece costing 300€.

Screw repairability I guess.

Talked to an authorised store who told me i'll have to send it to the OEM for at least a couple weeks to get it repaired under warranty.

Another owner of this exact model tells me that the part can be sent over to me for free if I directly contact the store. And I'll get support 99% of the time.

I'll send em an email and hope for not too much downtime.

That's my only e scooter and the reason why I own it in the first place is that the alternative sucked for me.

1hr of public transport + a 15 minutes walk that I painfully do in 30 due to my weight and sciatica.

Dualtron Forever

I am not sure but I don't think Dualtron is a big seller because of Stem wobble rumors? I don't know.

That said I am interested in one of the Dualtron Forever models...I just like the power to weight , and figure I can handle the stem.

My question. I like the lighting on the new type scooters like the Apollo that has a stem light.

I saw some pics of Dualtrons with lighting like that, but I cannot figure out if you have to add it as an upgrade or what.

Does the Dualtron Forever come with the Stem and side lights that say "Dualtron" on them, or is that with different models.
