Commuting from Downtown Toronto?

Hello!

I am thinking of joining Durham for a program, and am wondering how feasible it would be to commute for one of the semesters from downtown Toronto.

Say, if you had to commute from St George Station/ UofT campus to Durham's Oshawa campus? I think my earliest class could be 8 AM.

If anyone here has done a similar commute before, how did you find it? I'd be able to move for my second semester, but need to be near downtown for the first few months of my program :,)

getting out of group work due to disabilities..? ( serious post)

The title of this post makes it sound like I'm trolling but I'm not I swear.

I got approved for disability accommodations and receive disability-related funding through OSAP. I don't want to go into the specifics of my disability because I'd prefer to keep that private, but I'm wondering whether it's worth speaking with Accessibility Services about one of my courses.

The first half of the course included one group project, a The second half, however, is structured very differently. The class is literally just group work followed by a presentation every day.

The difficulty comes from having to process information and collaborate with others in real time. I process information more slowly, and the pace of frequent group discussions and presentations can make it hard for me to participate effectively.

I'm wondering if this is something that would be appropriate to discuss with Accessibility Services. I'm not necessarily expecting to be excused from all group work, but I'd like to know whether there are any accommodations or alternative supports that could help me participate more successfully in this course.

Curious about A.I

Soooo as the title says, I'm curious about AI. I have seen and heard that now-a-days colleges use a lot of A.I, and i did NOT grow up with that tech...

What and how much is used and what are the best apps etc that are used???

I am aware or subscriptions etc.

UPDATE: NOT for assignment help, but STUDY purposes.

Thank you!

I feel like this school is stealing my money without teaching me anything

So, midterms just came around for computer programming in the summer semester, and almost every class I’ve had has had some of the lowest average scores I have seen in my school life. Not just my scores, but everyone's are suffering.

For context, I am currently in semester 2 of programming and analysis, and this semester has felt like a huge quality shift from the first semester.

All content is outdated, expectations are being set haphazardly, causing many people to lose marks for no reason, and the professors don’t seem motivated to be here (probably because they are only doing 7 weeks, so they don’t have to worry about what’s going on after midterms)

And it’s not just me that are frustrated with this, talking with a bunch of classmates, and they have all expressed the same thought, “The profs aren’t actually teaching, they are reading slides,” and “I feel like I have learned nothing this semester, what’s supposed to happen next semester when they build off those topics”

For context, since grade 1, I have always been a high 70%’s mid 80% person. Even last semester, which was my first semester in college ever, I was averaging 75% - 85%. Now I’m lucky if I’m at 70%.

I was wondering if this is a normal thing that only happens in the summer, or if this is what the school has in place for me for the rest of my years here?

Dental hygiene

Hey guys… I’ve been looking to do a career change and after a lot of research I decided to go into dental hygiene. Durham college is one of the schools I have my eye on.. I’m just not certain if I am what they are looking for.
I have a diploma in Social service work and my gpa was around 3.4. I don’t know if they will take my high school credits into consideration as well but they are not that good. I have passing marks for all courses.. subjects like math, bio, chem, and English I had above 80s but the rest are 50s - 70s

Do I have a real chance in getting accepted if I apply without having to add any more education?

Thank you for your time :)
