Looking for help understanding price. How much do you think this piece should go for and any idea on which generation it is?

This was a hand-me down from my grand parents who passed a couple years ago. Been heavily used by family and pets so the leather is a little beat down and 2 buttons are damaged or gone, it needs some work. From what I've seen on here (and from knowing my grandfather) I'm pretty certain its an original.

Looking to sell this guy on FB marketplace or something, I lost my job about a month ago, trying to make ends meet so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

--Didnt get a good picture but there are 2 Philips screws under the arm rest.

EDIT: Location Portland, OR
Seen some people saying its worth up to 4k, is this realistic? I was thinking it would only go for at most $1500.

An expensive playground

My wife and I are DINKWADs but we like to host our friends and their kids over during the summer.

The chair, among other non kid friendly items at my home, are often quite the hit with the kids.

I just keep reminding myself that experiences with loved ones are more valuable than material things.

"How far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world."

1950 Ètagère a glass shelving & lamp unit by Frederick Weinberg.

A 1950 black aniline dye finish (they also came in red) DCM, which was produced specifically during the late 1940s and early 1950s making this one a 1st generation.

When form meets function & the golden warmth of a glow cascading all down along sheets of glass as it's filling up the room in it's warmth = SANCTUARY!

Keeks Design - Emma Chair

Nearly a year after receiving this Emma chair from Keeks Design, I can confidently say it has been one of the best furniture purchases I’ve made. From the moment it arrived, the craftsmanship and comfort stood out immediately. The materials still look and feel premium, and the chair has held up beautifully with daily use. It has become my favorite place to relax after a long day, whether I’m reading, watching TV, or just unwinding. The design also fits perfectly into my living space and continues to get compliments from guests.

What impressed me most is how well the chair has aged over time. Even after months of regular use, the cushions remain supportive, the leather still looks fantastic, and the overall structure feels as solid as day one. It strikes the perfect balance between style and comfort, which is rare to find. I appreciate the attention to detail and quality that clearly went into making it. I would absolutely recommend this lounge chair to anyone looking for a timeless piece that delivers both luxury and everyday comfort.

Last I’ve heard from previous posts, they might have discontinued with only a select few left. Good luck for those trying to get one, you won’t be disappointed.

Eames Lounge Chair wobble/movement at base - anyone else?

I posted before but just wanted to try one more time to see if anyone else has this level of give/wobble and provide some links to other posts about similar issues.

I reached out to Herman Miller with this video and they said that this was "acceptable tolerance levels". I stopped to a DWR store and they had 2 chairs, one with the wobble and one without.

Below are a few other posts with near identical videos that makes me think that it is both common and disappointing/troubling to owners.

If you have an Eames Lounge Chair (from HM), do you have this amount of wobble at the base?

Appreciate any feedback!

XPOST Know anything about chrome and leather "director's chairs?"

Hello everyone,

Dug this "chair" out of the bins at the Goodwill Outlet, but I feel like maybe it's missing a part? I don't know and can't find the anatomy of the chairs online. Maybe two bars where the seat would hold on to? Any suggestions? Please and thank you!

Also - Don't know if this is the right place to post (will definitely cross post), so please feel free to point me in the right direction or take this post down if not appropriate.

Real or Fake?

Posted as "Client purchased as Herman Miller Eames chair, no tags exist." It is at auction so it could be the auction house covering themselves. Please let me know what you think. Also no ottoman but it seems real to me.

Ideal height for a drink/end table next to an Eames lounge chair?

Moving to a new place that will have a second living room of sorts. Been contemplating getting two Eames lounges, and one, possibly two, smallish end tables. If we go with one, it will sit between the chairs, and if we go with two, they will live on the left side of the left chair and the right side of the right chair, respectively.

I’ve gone so far as to mock up the room with AI to get a sense of how it will look. (Unfortunately, the rug turns out to be a piece of crap; a flimsy 3mm of flat woven dye sublimated polyester chenille. It’s a shame really because I love the look of it and I can’t find anything that approximates it.)

I tried adding a couple of end tables that I liked into the image, but (free) AI isn’t great at understanding proportion or scale without a ton of prompts, so I gave up trying. But it got me thinking about the table height.

The first time we went into a Herman Miller store to test drive the chair, they had a very low wire base table next to the chair, and my wife and I both kind of chuckled at how low the table was.

I haven’t been able to find official measurements of the armrest, but it would seem like a standard 18 inch to 20 inch table height would be too tall, given how low the chair is. At the same time, the low Herman Miller table seems too low.

If you have a table next to your chair, how high is it? Do you reach upward to set a drink down, or downward? I feel like 15 inches is probably the sweet spot, but finding a 15 inch high side table has been challenging.

Eames Rosewood Lounge Chair & Ottoman (670/671) Check

What do you all think? $3500 due to the damage noted below.

Authentic vintage Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman (670/671), 3rd generation (1971–1991), in Brazilian rosewood veneer with original chocolate brown leather cushions.

Brazilian rosewood veneer (pre-ban era)

Original chocolate brown leather cushions

Wood shells: Original matched set. Present well with attractive grain and typical minor wear.

Structural notes (please read):

Prior repair to shock mounts. Backrest sits slightly uneven and is overly reclined. This has resulted in a partial stress fracture on one wing of the lower back shell (see last 2 photos). This is not a full break. Professional restoration highly recommended to stabilize the panel, and improve the alignment on the shock mounts Note: shock mounts on these chairs are a maintenace issue. They need to be replaced periodically on all chairs because the rubber degrades over time. Material cost for new shock mounts is about $100 if you want to DIY it.

Is this an Eames Chair?

Hey there. Just recently I found this chair at my mothers basement. Is there the possibility that it is an eames chair?

Thanks in advance!

Calling all recent Eames Lounge Chair purchasers

I’m close to pulling the trigger on an Eames Lounge with the palisander shell. I got to look at one in person at a local HM retailer and liked the floor model. However, I also went to a DWR, and the floor model there in palisander was significantly lighter — it wasn’t anywhere near the sample the rep had. He said that over the last two years or so, all the palisander chairs they’ve sold have been this lighter shade. I’m aware that there will be variation in the wood grain and color tones, but this is concerning as I was really hoping for that darker, richer wood color. (I don’t know how old the floor model was at HM.)

So for all current owners of an Eames Lounge in palisander, who bought one in the last couple years, would you mind weighing in here, maybe with a photo of your chair and the year you got it? Did you feel like the delivered chair matched the sample you saw?

I’m worried that within the last year or so that HM actually changed rosewood suppliers and the chairs are being produced with a lighter shade.

Repairs in the Southeast

I've got two Eames chairs and ottomans that were damaged by water in a fire at my house in Atlanta. The wood has water stains in it and the cushions need replacing. Any idea where I could take/send them where I could be confident they're repaired correctly? They're both first-generation models.
