Eames turned stool - thoughts on authenticity?

What are your thoughts on this piece? Listing says they found it cleaning out a basement, just holding a speaker for years until storage. Legit or knockoff? Will update with better photos when I pick it up later tonight.

Screws under armrest on lounge chair

I’m looking at a lounge chair on auction near me, which unfortunately I won’t be able to see in person. The auction house is legitimate, and the other items in the auction are also high end. Everything looks good on the chair except these 3 screw holes below the right armrest. Could this be a repair? I have never seen these before (on fakes either) so am curious what they could be from.

What was the best deal you ever found?

A year out of college, thirty years ago, my wife and I found two lounge chairs and an ottoman for $700. The leather was a mess on both, but the wood was in reasonably good shape. We agonized about spending that much money but that was probably the best deal I could ever hope to get.

Beware of Immitations

Considering how much space in this sub is devoted identifying fakes, I thought this Herman Miller poster from 1963 would be interesting. This is in the 2006 book on the Eames Lounge Chair.

Authentic or fake? The seller claims it’s an original Vitra Eames Lounge Chair and has an invoice. What do you think?

Folding screen and leg splint

It looks like a similar splint was posted here a few years ago but not the folding screen.

Looking for bases for Eames Herman Miller plastic shell arm chairs

I just inherited two Eames Herman Miller plastic shell arm chairs (2009 manuf) with no bases or hardware. So I'm on the hunt for (preferably intact) bases for them, preferably Eiffel or H but open to other options. I'll need hardware too, of course.

Aside from contacting Herman Miller directly, does anyone have any suggestions on where/how to look for them? And what's a reasonable price range?

If I only get one base, I will restore one of the chairs and store the other until something comes along.

Thanks in advance.

This Eames chair is too tall for my desk.

I have this Eames Plush Executive Group Office Chair. While I still love the chair, it’s too tall for my current desk, and it cannot change heights. I don’t know if I should buy a sit-to-stand desk and hope one of the various heights would suffice, or if I should buy a standard desk that’s abnormally tall.

Also, does anyone know why this particular Eames office chair is so abnormally tall? My only theory is that it was intended to be used for an office board-meeting table, but it’s just a guess.

Just refurbished

Just got this pair of 1950s-era dining chairs refurbished. The back had fallen off one of them and the shock absorbers all around were rock-hard, so they were all replaced. Glad to see them brought back to life & made usable again!
