Anyone know when Eggy goes on at Heuser Park tonight?
Can’t seem to find a schedule for the show…
Can’t seem to find a schedule for the show…
Gainesville rock city!!! This was my first Eggy show as a long time lurker and what a show! It should have been made longer for sure but I get the whole hard curfew as well. I don’t think Gainesville has had a show quite like that (besides frankly scarlets shows at the hall which is always a banger) but this, to me, cemented that a jam culture exists in Gainesville and Eggy just opened the doors! As a local I couldn’t be happier they came to our small town and I was able to introduce my friends to my side of the music spectrum and everyone had a blast! I hope this kick started a jam subculture and a presence where other bands can come and melt our faces! Thank you so much Eggy for checking out our small town! LEGGY LEGGY LEGGY!!!
P.S. this has also inspired me to reach out to any local musicians wondering if anyone would be down to Jam out sometime, I’m relatively new to guitar but feel like I can keep up but this show has inspired me to poke around and jam with some cats around Gainesville!
….yes it was….
Anybody making it up to Lake Lanier tomorrow?
I'll be flying in solo. I'm eyeing Tap It across the street from venue if anybody wants to hang out pre-show.
Another sick one, I don’t think I can make the RI/MA shows but I still might try to get my hands on this!
I’m seeing horses in the black and white patterns and ducks with the white and yellow, among the pink and yellow flowers. Anyone else?
The massive, 38 minute Shatter from this spectacular show ends with a full-on Come On Eileen jam. But if you listen back to the Shallow Rivers in set one, Jake is already paving the way for that moment by sneaking in a Come On Eileen tease just before the 6 minute mark. A really fun little easter egg!
Haven’t seen the fellas since Thunderbird in Pittsburgh last year, thought that show was pretty mind blowing but last night was on another level. The jams were deep, wildly experimental, and really varied. Not a moment of spinning wheels, their communication on stage for where to go next is getting so good. I can’t even remember which song but there was a point where they locked into a dance groove and Jake was wailing on this really high pitched distorted tone and I completely lost myself in it the same way I do when Phish is at their best. Plus the fireworks unexpectedly blasting off in the ocean near the end, with the band taking in the moment while they played, and then the super jam with Dogs? Cmon! What a show. Can’t wait for tonight down in Wilmington!
After a four-show journey that took the band from New York to North Carolina, the Dogs are heading back up the East Coast towards familiar grounds. The weekend promises a 3-night stint in the heart of New England, but the band has one more stop to make in the south before returning to the northeast.
Tonight’s booking is a special dual-headlining affair featuring both Dogs and Eggy for the Oceanfront Concert Series in Virginia Beach. These two bands are tight - they previously shared the stage together for a similar dual two-night booking at the Cap in Fall ‘24, and have crossed paths during more festival weekends than I can remember. The show's going down at 24th Street Park, a stage and open space right on the Virginia Beach coastline, right next to the local Surf & Rescue Museum. It looks like most of the other shows during this summer series are being held at the smaller 17th Street Park a few blocks down the road, so I think it's safe to say a larger crowd is expected tonight!
The Dogs, of course, are no stranger to Hampton Roads, but it has been 22 months since they were last in Virginia Beach opening for Frasco at New Realm Brewing - their last and only headlining show in the city was back in October '23 at Elevation 27. Both bands are technically headliners tonight, but someone has to go first: Dogs are batting leadoff at 7 (sun set = best set) with Eggy's set scheduled for 9. Both bands will be out at 10:35 for super-jam, so be sure to stick around even if you're just there for Dogs!
