parasocial sidebar

wanted to take a moment to be parasocial and say that it made really happy watching the new episode and not only seeing josie on the pod, but hearing them mention josh, lucas, orion and christian was awesome and it’s cool to see that they’re still friends with their og squad

TMG

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think emergency intercom leaving TMG and going back to independent production was a mistake. Here's why

I felt like them originally partnering up with TMG was a great idea and made things fresh and new for both the viewers and Enya and Drew. They had a budget that they could use for bits to spice things up, it also gave them new visibility that could potentially introduce them to a new audience.

I think keeping things interesting is especially important for these two. They aren't celebrities and cannot rely on mystique to keep people entertained and engaged. They are influencers/content creators, and the main thing that keeps people enticed with these types of media personalities is the relatability and the slight oversharing that you get from your average influencer. Specifically Enya, who will often allude to personal stories that she impartially shares or how they OFTEN bleep out stories they tell and just leave in their reactions. I do want to make it clear that I am not saying they should share things they do not have desire to.

I feel like their leaving TMG amidst people finding out that Cody Ko was a weirdo (which, to be honest, is an open secret in these circles) was a bad idea; it felt like they gave into some BS woke cancel culture wave that they often even made fun of. It felt very performative. Mind you, I even remember hearing not so good things about Cody way before they partnered. I also read that this deal was closed before the Cody Ko and Tana Mongeau allegations surfaced. At present, Noel Miller, who, last time I checked, has a pretty good reputation, runs the TMG studio on his own WITHOUT Cody, so at the end of the day, what was the point? They gave us production-level podcasts just to downgrade over something that had already been present. I used to really enjoy the podcast, but after seeing them just go back to making podcasts in their kitchen instead of figuring out something new, it felt like they were starting to lack evolution, and I've had a hard time watching them since I made these observations.

Episode help - fruity.tube not helping..

I'm looking for an episode were drew briefly goes on a made up rant about dead bodies, yucca valley I think, and surveillance footage of the dead bodies magically disappearing. I cannot for the life of me find it and I've tried a bunch of search strings on fruity.tube and still nothing. Help 🙏
