Emirates First Class Lounge in Dubai – Concourse C vs A? Worth switching terminals?

Hi everyone,

I’ll soon be flying with Emirates from CPH to JNB with a layover in Dubai, and I’m considering buying access to the Emirates First Class Lounge during my transit.

I’ve seen that there are lounges in Concourse A, B, and C, but I’ve also heard quite a few people say that the lounge in Concourse C is noticeably worse than the one in Concourse A.

So I wanted to ask people here who have actually tried them:

  • Is the First Class Lounge in Concourse C really that "meh"?
  • How does it compare to Concourse A in terms of atmosphere, food, showers, comfort, and overall luxury feel?
  • If my next flight departs from Concourse C, would you still recommend going to the lounge in A instead?
  • Is the difference significant enough to justify the extra time and train ride between concourses?

I’ve read very mixed opinions online. Some people say Concourse C is quieter and more relaxing, while others say it feels older, smaller, and much less premium than A. Since this will be my first long-haul trip with Emirates, I’d really like to make the most of the experience.

Would love to hear your honest thoughts and recommendations — especially from frequent Emirates flyers. Thanks! 😄 ✈️

Emirates flights in the past week – how full are they?

Has anyone flown Emirates in the past week or so?

I know there is almost 3 months to it but I’m flying in August and was wondering how full the flights are lately after the war situation. Are planes starting to fill up again or are they still less busy than usual?🤔😊

Dubai Connect Visa Status

I applied for the Dubai Connect Visa via their email about a week ago but haven’t heard back from them yet. Emirates chat support said they can’t track the status of visa applications for it. My flight is still 9 days to go. So -

  1. How much time do they usually take?
  2. What happens if I do t hear back from them in time? Should I walk down to Dubai connect counter at DXB or consider this as it’s not processed in time?

I’m an Indian passport holder with an active US visa (h1b) so I think I can get visa on arrival too but not sure if gotta pay for that.

Best seat selection? 3 adults with one infant. Boeing 777-300ER and A380.

Would like a good view for my mom since she rarely flies on a plane. We have my 10 months niece with us so our choice are quite limited, I’ve been choosing either right or left sides of the seat in the 17 row for Boeing 777-300ER and in the middle (night flight) for A380. Is it close to the toilet as well, or loud? It’s my niece first flight, don’t know what to expect but hopefully the bassinet will help her getting comfortable.

Emirates, Melbourne to Manchester

Hi all, hoping you can help.

I’m looking to fly to Manchester from Melbourne via Dubai in October. Do you think I’m safe to book with Emirates? Has anyone flown from Melbourne using emirates?

Appreciate your help!

Distrupted status remains despite changes made.

I’ve make change for my distrupted flight, however the “distrupted” status is still there. My flight will be at the end of June, should I be concerned about this?

Flight rescheduled; layover now 12 hours!

So my return flight was suddenly rescheduled yesterday; didn't even get an email (randomly logged into my Emirates app and saw it was done already). Earlier my layover in Dubai was just an hour but now it's gone up to 12 hours - that's with 2 children! They did offer Dubai Connect but our passports are from a country which is not favoured by the UAE at the moment so we are unlikely to get visas. After much discussion they've put us on an alternate flight but the layover is still 7 hours. Beyond that not offering any food vouchers or lounge access or at least seats with extra legroom. Any advice on how to get them to facilitate us in a better way since we are a family with two children?

EK409 - Melbourne to Dubai

Anyone flown this recently? I'm due to fly in two weeks and the plane looks super empty from the seat map but I'm wondering if it will fill up as people change their flights. They moved me off this flight, then moved me off my rescheduled flight, so now I'm back on my original flight. I'm assuming a lot of people's schedules are adjusting.

Connecting

Emirates decided to change my connecting flight time. I'll arrive in DXB at 8:05 and my connecting flight changes from 10:05 to 9:30. This is the first time I've encountered such a small time for a connecting flight, is this really possible?

Scared I'll be lost and won't be able to board it, since it's also my first time travelling alone.

Has anyone experienced this short period of transferring from DXB? Is it doable?

Please, some help.

I'm trying to contact Emirates as well but it just won't connect.

Tarmac pick up option?

I haven’t flown emirates in a long time, have been using QR because of oneworld and I like DOH airport (and their first class lounge is 🔥). At DOH you can have a car pick you up from the plane and drive you to the terminal. I’m traveling with my nearly 3 year old, so trying to make it as easy as possible seeing we’ll be coming off a 16h flight. Does emirates have this option? I haven’t seen anything in their Marhaba service that indicates it but was wondering.

Also, first time flying with my kid. I’m assuming I need to tell Emirates chauffeur drive or whatever it’s called that I need a car seat? Anyone can provide their number in US?

Thanks everyone

Emirates Announcement for flights post May 31

Has anyone spoke to Emirates about when they may release an update for the extension of refunds? I understand they are flying close to normal but we don’t feel comfortable flying and it would be preferable to get the extra $600 cancellation fee.

Qatar have extended it until September.

Emirates keeps changing my flight! Keeps making the layover shorter and shorter Anyone with similar experience?

Emirates keeps making the layover shorter and shorter. I’m unsure if they will support in getting to the next flight or is it all on me? They’ve done this on both my May and June flight. Layover is in Dubai.

Under the change, they state you can book an alternative flight or request a refund. That makes me feel the responsibility is going to fall on me if I miss the next flight due to short layover!
Has anyone had similar experience?

Flight Schedule - normal operations?

Hi everyone, i have my flight booked for May 30 (from Dubai). I have to be overseas for something important I can’t miss in mid June. Do you think flights will be scheduled as normal or should I call and rebook for sooner?

Many thanks!

Should I suck it up and pay for seats on my flight from MEL to ATH and return (4 x flights in total)?

My partner and I are flying to ATH from MEL via DXB later this month, and at this stage we haven’t paid for seat selection. Is this risky that we won’t be placed together for the flights?

6 hour Layover

I have a flight arriving into DXB at 8 PM and have a 6 hour layover.. I have flown this route over 10 times and usually never leave the airport for all 6 hours and chill at the Emirates business class lounge in T3 , with that being said I was wondering if I would have enough time to squeeze a Uber ride to the Burj Khalifa and back, I don’t plan on going on top nor do I plan on doing any other attractions just want to see the building and the city at night in person. Do yall think six hours is enough with how busy the airports are goin to be ? I know it is typically recommended to arrive at the airport 90 minutes prior to departure. Would it also be a big deal if I arrive only an hour or an hour and a half before departure because my bags are already been through security?…US citizen so visa and immigration shouldn’t be a problem.(I hope ) 😂
I don’t have a problem staying in the lounge once again, but just figured it would be worth a shot if possible..
Thank you all for ya time .

Rewards Upgrade through points

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to share something unique( for me that happened recently). I have been flying business class since 2022 and have always applied for auto upgrades to first class after booking business class fare for one way from DXB to SFO. Usually always travel business from SF to DXB. I usually apply for auto upgrade via points at the time of booking and usually have gotten the upgrade 80% of the time. However usually upgrade becomes available only 48-72 hours before my flight. For the first time today I got the upgrade notification one month before the flight. Was pleasantly surprised.

What's current treatment if you are too afraid to fly?

Relative in the uk was supposed to come visit us in Australia in April but he was too worried about the war which was worse at the time with ongoing attacks on uae.

He first moved his flight a couple of days due to emirates not running full services then decided he would rather not come so moved to June. They apparently charged him around 100 pounds for this change.

He is still a little nervous and I fear he might still be too afraid to fly. Are they still doing on demand refunds do you know?
