What is this line thing on my map? My Omni S2 doesn’t clean or crosses it and it is near the charging station so often it can’t find the station. Also, the base station disappeared from the map?

Arlo VS Eufy, tough choice. Alternatives?

Dear all, I’m looking for a wireless security system cover about 1000 sq meters / 11000 sq feet. I’m going to need 4 or 5 cams and I am torn between Eufy and Arlo. I want the best build quality and user experience. Recurring costs are somewhat annoying but no dealbreaker. Does anyone have experience with both? I don’t have a fixed budget. I do have a synology NAS available if I were to consider something else entirely.

Nice to have but not required:
-,Option to hook up to a permanent power source or swappable batteries. Hybrid POE support would be nice but I don’t think it exists.
- Smart tracking across cameras
- easily movable cameras (not pointable, actual relocation)

Are there other brands worth looking into?

Recommendations

My Homebase2 is so buggy and laggy that I’m just ready to be done with Eufy after 5-6 years. I only use a doorbell camera and door open/close detector chimes (and the newish siren). Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid brand for my uses? (it’s quite unlikely I will ever use security cameras)

Eufy e25 map disappeared

Map suddenly dissappeared in the app.

I can send it to vacuum but map is blank.

Any ideas?

First time buyer of a robot vacuum with buyer’s remorse.

I’ve just bought my first Robot Vacuum (a Eufy C28), and after mapping my main floor and a couple of room test runs I’m already having buyer’s remorse.

There are no kids or pets in the house, so it isn’t especially messy. I mainly bought it because I liked the idea of taking away a regular cleaning job each week, and to be honest because I thought it would be pretty cool.

The issue is that after only a couple of runs it seems to bump into things a lot, including chair + table legs and skirting boards + door frames It already has white paint marks on its corners. My main concern is whether it will gradually mark/damage skirting boards, chair legs, painted furniture, etc in the house, and actually save me any meaningful time.

I can create no-go zones for tables and chairs, but that feels a bit self-defeating if the awkward areas are the ones I want cleaned.

The mop drying time also feels excessive with a minimum 3.5 hours, which feels like a lot of noise/disturbance/energy use after a short amount of mopping.

For C28 or similar Robo-vacuum users is the regular bumping something you have to live with, and if so does the house / robot get scuffed over time?
Is the long mop drying time just something you get used to?

I’d like to like it, especially as I might not be able to return it, but I’m wondering whether it (or robot vacuums in general) just isn’t suited to my house and expectations. Any honest experiences would be much appreciated.

Security cameras/Systems that don’t have long lags when switching to live view?

I have a Eufy outdoor camera (solar-powered S220, I believe) and a battery-powered Eufy doorbell connected to a HomeBase (not the package-detection model, and I can’t remember the exact model number). I also have two Arlo Pro 2 cameras (VMC4030P-100NAS) with an Arlo Base Station.

Both systems are frustratingly slow when trying to access the live feed. The lag is so long that by the time the camera loads, whatever movement I was trying to check is already gone.

The most annoying part is that both systems seem to miss motion events fairly often, so it’s not even guaranteed that the activity will be recorded for later review.

The video quality isn’t bad. Arlo is definitely better when it comes to motion detection and audio, while Eufy has noticeably better video resolution when it actually activates.

Has anyone experienced this with either system? Any suggestions for improving live-view speed? I checked my wifi and it’s pretty strong, both home bases are directly next to my router.

And if anyone is wondering why I have a mix of brands: I started with Arlo years ago, then about 1.5 years ago after I moved, I bought a four-pack of Eufy cameras and gradually added those to the setup haha. I have one Arlo above my eufy doorbell and one over my back door that’s not trafficked often, mainly for my dog.

C28 - drying

Just got a C28. The user manual states “we strongly recommend setting the drying mode to "Standard Drying every time”

How do I do this? I’ve managed to set a daily hoover and mop in the app, but there are no options in that for drying…

Eufy Omni C28 (brand new) issue

I was so happy i got this robovac for 430USD. Got it immediately (two days after ordering) and the cleaning was flawless.

The only issue? It has never successfully returned to the dock station. Not even once. It just circles around without any success.

I tried everything. Factory reset, clean sensors, clean the swivel wheel attachment EVERYTHING.

Currently speaking with their rep via app but i’m very worried that it will not be replaced since I ordered from the Philippines (thru Shopee, sold by Anker official store - while the store is legit, may be possible that they wont recognize shopee as an official channel for sales)

If you guys know the solution to this, let me know i’ll take whatever just to fix my dumb lovely robot.

Solo cam S340 help

I bought a Solocam S340 a couple years ago and we mounted it and only used it for a bit before we moved and took it down and haven’t used it in a while. We are now trying to start using it again, but we are missing some pieces. I cannot for the life of me find the little circular mounting piece that connects to the solar panel. I have all other pieces and screws that will work, but I have been unable to find the top mount I will circle in yellow on an added photo. Does anyone know where I can get the replacement piece without having to order a whole new solar panel or camera. It’s possible they sell something similar at a hardware store, but I have yet to actually find a piece.

Misleading customers, unreliable features, security concerns, and unacceptable support

I purchased two complete eufy camera systems for two different locations, trusting the brand and the features advertised. Unfortunately, after a long period of use, my experience has been extremely disappointing.

The biggest issue is the gap between what is advertised and what actually works. The geofencing feature is promoted as part of the eufy ecosystem, but in my experience it has never worked correctly. This is not an isolated issue or a phone compatibility problem.

The support team repeatedly blamed my smartphones, but I tested the system with multiple devices from different manufacturers, including Samsung, Apple, Motorola, Google, and Xiaomi. The result was always the same: geofencing did not work reliably.

After many complaints from users, eufy added a "Beta" label to this function, but this happened only after customers had already purchased products based on the advertised capabilities. Customers should not have to discover after buying a product that an advertised feature is actually experimental or not working as expected.

This creates a serious feeling of being misled as a customer. A company should be transparent from the beginning and clearly communicate limitations before customers spend money on a product.

Another unacceptable issue is a shared account that cannot be removed from my device list. Despite many contacts with customer support, troubleshooting attempts, and weeks of waiting, there has been no real solution provided. For a security product, this lack of control over accounts and access is extremely concerning.

I also experienced repeated video frame losses during recordings and live viewing, affecting the reliability of the system. A security camera that loses important video frames cannot provide the level of confidence expected from such a product.

Furthermore, I have serious concerns about the overall security approach of this system, as unresolved account management issues and weaknesses in user control can potentially put customer data and privacy at risk.

The most frustrating part is not only the technical problems, but the lack of respect shown toward customers. I invested in two systems, spent a significant amount of time testing, reporting issues, and communicating with support, but after around 18 months there are still unresolved problems and no effective solutions.

The hardware has potential, but a security system is not only about hardware. Reliability, software quality, data protection, transparency, and customer support are essential.

My experience has been a waste of time and money. I expected a professional company that listens to its customers and solves problems. Instead, I received unresolved issues, unclear communication, and features that do not perform as advertised.

Rating: 1 star out of 5 — because of misleading features, unresolved problems, reliability issues, security concerns, and unacceptable customer support.

Scam or fraudulent event

Y’all are either not really selling this gift cards or not fallowing through with your own T&C about “Limit one discount per user for ENTIRE PROMOTION Period”, and/or campaign rules and details

#5 Flash sales and gift card policy -
flash sale items will be released daily at 6AM (PDT).
Purchase of flash sale items are “strictly” restricted to (1) item per specific flash sale link per customer during the “entire” promotion period, IP address and shipping address.

and

#7 general provisions and Anti-Fraud Measures
Any suspected fraudulent activity, abuse of promotional rules, or “unfair practices” (including but not limited to, the use of automated “bots” for flash sales) will result in immediate order cancelation and permanent disqualification from the event, “at the sole discretion of Eufy Make.

So you either are ignoring the issue of real scripts / bots or taking the gift cards yourself and making the consumer believe they have a chance at something you are not really giving away.

Several days of images proof within the event post on eufy make sub, images of gift cards out mili seconds after they go up or even in my cart sold out but sitting “unclaimed” for several minutes and instant sold out unable make any purchase.

Does connecting to HomeKit ensure privacy?

I’m considering purchasing an E40 Solar bundle + Homebase 2 and connecting it to Apple HomeKit to bypass concerns about Eufy security. Let’s ignore the question about whether or not Apple is secure or not, could I theoretically just block the homebase itself from WAN access to ensure it can’t communicate with Eufy servers? I love the hardware, the security side is a little sketchy by default. I know this isn’t ideal but this is in my price range and would be amazing if I could make it work.

Any thoughts?

Excited for this one. S2!

After waiting quite a while for the new units to launch, I finally got my Eufy S2. I currently use the E28 but really love the idea of the new dustbin design and with infants the electrolyzed water for the mop is very appealing. No real surprises in the box or the setup, did most of it without the instructions in about 2 minutes. The scent cartridges are interesting, not something i would have asked for on a robovac but can see the appeal for some households. Scent is not super strong, pro in my book, but only time will tell if that something I keep in there or buy replacements for.

Mapping run took about 7 minutes for my floor plan. Was kind of neat to see it auto-populate alot of the furniture this time instead of manually adding it before. This should help the room detection for the AI cleaning strategy and makes the map much more appealing to look at. I placed the dock in a semi tight corner and hack undocked/docked several times and doesn't seem to be an issue, love the tall and slim dock profile.

No issues on the first cleaning run, it seems pretty cautious on cornering, taking it slow, which should help with scattering and give the extending mop a chance to adjust, will be watching that closely. One item that caught me of guard the first time time was the chassis lift. While I dont have long tassels on my rugs the S2 seems to take great care with rug edges often lifting the chassis and setting itself on the rug before its starts cleaning the rug. It cleaned the room and area around the rug first.

Overall im very happy with the first run and looking forward to seeing what this thing can do compared to the E28 that is now cleaning my basement.

Edit: Eufy did send me this. All thoughts are my own but mostly will just be maintenance related anyway. Thanks Primas02

First time ever using this C28. Why is it leaving white foam on the floor? It’s filled with just water.

This is literally the first run of using this new robot vacuum. I just set it up and it’s currently mapping my apartment. Why is it leaving this white foam on the ground? I only used water. It’s only coming from the right side of the vacuum. Pretty disappointing!

Feature Request: Let HomeBase 3 actually learn familiar faces over time

First of all, I’d like to say that I’m really impressed with the HomeBase 3 and its BionicMind AI. Face recognition works surprisingly well, and it’s genuinely useful to receive notifications like “John was spotted in the garden” instead of a generic “Person detected.”
However, after using it for a while, I feel like the AI is missing its biggest opportunity.
At the moment, the workflow is basically:
Motion detected.
Video recorded.
AI analyzes the face.
Notification is sent.
Sometimes it recognizes me, sometimes it creates a new “Presence”.
The problem is that the AI doesn’t seem to learn from experience.
For example, if I’m detected 100 times over several weeks, I would expect the system to become better and better at recognizing me. Instead, if I’m farther away, wearing a cap, or walking sideways, I often end up as a new “Presence” again.
My suggestion
Instead of treating every unknown appearance as a separate identity, HomeBase could offer something like:
“We think this Presence might be John (92% confidence). Would you like to merge them?”
or even:
“Use confirmed detections of known people to improve face recognition over time.”
Every time the user confirms a match, those images could become additional training samples.
This would allow the AI to recognize people under different conditions:
Different distances
Side profile
Hats
Glasses
Beard/no beard
Different lighting
Day and night
Even better…
Once a person is reliably recognized, users could choose what to do:
☑ Don’t notify me when this person is detected.
☑ Don’t save recordings of familiar people.
☑ Automatically delete recordings after recognition.
☑ Trigger different automations depending on who was detected.
This would reduce unnecessary notifications, save battery on battery-powered cameras, reduce storage usage, and make the AI feel truly intelligent instead of simply labeling events after they happen.
The hardware already seems capable of recognizing familiar faces. The missing piece is allowing the system to continuously improve through user feedback.
I think this single feature would make HomeBase 3 feel much closer to the “AI security system” many of us imagined when we bought it.
What do you think? Would you use a feature like this?
