Use a platform other than Eventbrite if you plan to publish many events at once. Here's why.

Today, I reached out to Eventbrite staff through their chat to see if I can figure out why some people cannot publish more than one event without their account being automatically "suspended" within 24 hours. Here's a copy of my conversation with one of their staff members. Note the text I highlighted in light blue and yellow. I'm Mike and the staff member's name is Kenneth.

https://preview.redd.it/kkfn2ybdinjh1.png?width=543&format=png&auto=webp&s=ac5db23048f3356121b7c2d1f2cc8c2d265c47e4

What's crazier is they always want answers from their internal team. Despite Ken claiming their internal team consists of humans, I never receive an answer from them.

So if you use Eventbrite to plan your events, publish no more than one event and take that one down if you want to put up another one.

Introducing an entirely new kind of event in Asheville

Sufra Time is not simply dinner. It’s a journey—and a discovery of just how surprisingly close Arabia and Appalachia can be.

Hosted at Mocha Box Coffeehouse in Asheville, Sufra Time is an immersive, interactive cultural dinner experience bringing the people, flavors, stories, history, humor, and extraordinary landscapes of Arabia to life.

Across eight distinct experiences, guests explore the Birth of Coffee, the ancient Incense Road, the Queen of Sheba, Arabian Food, Architecture, Tribal Culture, Desert Living & Geology, and the otherworldly island of Socotra. Along the way, surprising connections between Arabian and Appalachian culture, history, geography, hospitality, food, and community reveal that these seemingly distant worlds share more than we might expect.

Each evening combines authentic food, visual storytelling, fascinating history, conversation, humor, and audience participation.

Designed for curious people who love fhttps://vwahla.events/sufra-time/coffeeood, travel, history, and discovery, Sufra Time transforms a shared table into a place to eat, laugh, learn, connect—and see familiar worlds differently.

Tickets are $76 for the discounted 8/21 "Soft Launch" event and $95 for the inaugural event. Tickets can be purchased here: The Birth of Coffee — Sufra Time, Asheville NC

For more information, email Joe@vwahla.events or call him at 828-567-5303.

We hope to see you there!

Renting ipads for a one-day corporate event

Is renting tablets for check in and surveys better than buying devices we will only use once a year?

How do you usually discover events happening near you?

I'm curious about how people discover interesting events happening around them — meetups, workshops, hackathons, networking events, concerts, sports, etc.

What do you normally use to find these events? Google, Instagram, Meetup, Eventbrite, Reddit, Facebook, WhatsApp/Telegram groups, or something else?

Have you ever found out about an interesting event only after it had already happened?

I'd love to hear how you currently discover events.

Team building conference ideas for January 2027.

Hello all fellow admins!
I received some great ideas here for a team build I did in NYC. Asking for an idea again! I have about 35 employees I need to plan for our kick off in January. Last year (I wasn’t hired yet) they all went to Florida Keys.

Where can I plan this for January? We are pretty much open to anywhere in US. My leader mentioned Arizona and a warm climate. Aside from Vegas, has anyone attended or planned a great venue? Any ideas in Arizona? Texas, etc?

Thank you!!!

Collaboration via evening events

Owning a physical storefront comes with some real perks. Those one-off on your own accord, or collaborative evening events is one of many. I've personally attended several and been a co-host. These events don't need to feel like a 'candle-party' where there is a perceiced pressure to buy either. If we have another space we pay for, outside of our home (I.e. mortgage, rent, etc) why not maximize opportunities. I don't think that calling these invitations 'networking events' necessarily fits either. Networking is somewhat stigmatized, I've noticed anyway. I've made a lot of friends, collaborated with great people, learned about stuff. I'm all for them, if bylaws allow for it. Thinking that maybe not enough physical owners are utilizing the space after business hours. Might be a missed opportunity in storefront business to try new things. Storefront owners, if they don't own the space or building, are paying daily for that square footage. Make sense right? To use it post 5 pm. I think so! Do others make use of their leased storefront after typical business hours?

How would you structure event nights so BOTH the host and customers actually want to come?

I own a small boba shop in Los Angeles and I want to start hosting community event nights — game nights, singles mixers, card tournaments, workshops, meetups, etc.

I want to create a deal that feels almost too good to pass up, without just discounting everything.
My original idea was:
• No venue rental fee
• Host can charge an entrance fee and keep 100% of it
• We make our money from food & drinks
• Drinks are around $8–$9

But then I started thinking from the CUSTOMER’S perspective.
If an event has a $15 entrance fee and they also have to buy an $8–$9 drink, they’re spending $23–$24 just to attend. I’m not sure that’s attractive enough for a casual community event.

So I’m trying to find a creative win-win-win model:
The host makes money.
The customers feel like they’re getting an amazing deal.
My shop still makes money.

I’m open to things like minimum guarantees, revenue sharing, included drink credits, prizes, bundles, or something completely different.
If you owned a café/boba shop, what “too good to say no” offer would you create to attract BOTH good event hosts and customers?

I’d especially love to hear from café, bar, restaurant, game store, or event-space owners who have done something similar
