Anyone using Eversense 365 with xdrip+?

Is there anything more to it than installing Esel and changing the source in xdrip?

Just got my insertion and wanting to make sure AndroidAPS gets fed properly when everything comes online and I switch off Dexcom G6

Does anyone need G7 sensors, not transmitter

I have done the switch and don’t want to waste these sensors I have remaining, expiring early next year. Dm me with addy and I can use company FedEx to send.

I am getting my first readings, it looks worse than it was when I took it off…

I am dialed in! First readings are within the 10mg/dl of both finger stick and the Libre I am leaving on for the twiist pump. The pic makes it look bad but when removed it was fine. No pain but I am afraid to eat much and will test it shortly after dinner.

Clear or White - what's your preference?

Clear or White?

Pros and Cons and your preference

Clear ... Pros - Can see my tattoos more clearly Con - The adhesive doesn't feet the same. Can t wear it as long, and nbr of time removed seems fewer.

White ... Almost an exact opposite.

Day after update!

Figure I’ll put in some updates along the way.

So far so good! I put the transmitter on a little crooked but it has good signal.

The insertion site is not painful or sore. No signs of bruising.

Calibrations are going smoothly and appear just about spot-on between the Eversense and my G6 (see pics).

Insertion done!

Took about 20 minutes between the procedure and sensor / transmitter setup.

The NP had me lay down on a flat table after we talked / marked for placement. The site was cleaned and prepped, and then injected with lidocaine which took effect within a minute tops.

She made a small incision, formed a little pocket under the skin and placed the sensor. She then held wadding under pressure to the site for three minutes (I think to control bleeding), cleaned it again, placed the Steri-Strips and a small Tegaderm with an absorbant pad over the top. I bruise like a peach as it is so it’ll be interesting to see it during healing.

We then took a few minutes to pair the transmitter and then pair the sensor, once paired the app showed a countdown time for when the initial 24-hour warm-up time is done and I can begin the 4 calibrations over the 24 hour period next. She then took some adhesive wrap and compressed the entire upper arm over the sensor area to help prevent too much blood from pooling around it (she said too much pooling hinders the warm-up and initial healing process). I can take that off later tonight.

The provider was awesome, said she’s been doing more and more of them - one woman was ahead of me and she had several more lined up for the day. She is happy to see them being adopted.

Didn’t (and don’t as of yet) feel a thing. I do believe the lidocaine has worn off at this point. Very happy with the process! 😜

Intense battery drain during the night

Hey everybody, I’ve been on the Eversense 365 since May and the past week or so I’ve noticed a wild amount of background battery drain but it was especially bad last night.

Last night while I was asleep the app/system ended up using 35% of my iPhone 15 Pro Max battery doing god knows what just in the background.

Does anybody have any potential fixes or also experiencing intense battery drain?

If any solutions please comment below. Thanks in advance.

Insertion tomorrow!

I went with the Eversense because I also wanted to replace my out-of-warranty pump with the twiist and was super excited the two worked together.

As can be guessed our insurance (currently) does not have a contract for pharmacy formulary for the refill kits and they are TOO expensive to pay out-of-pocket for at this time. I’ve been quite a long time out of warranty, and the pump is starting to have some errors that my spouse and I are both concerned about could mean it’s on its last legs. Decision has been made to go with a competitor pump that does not (again, currently) offer Eversense CGM compatibility. Maybe down the road.

Gonna get it, get used to it, and use it for backup treatment decisions for all the MANY times my current CGM is 60+ or more points off. Crossing fingers that Eversense is adopted across other platforms.

Cheers!

Finally got an insertion date

I am getting inserted on July 6th. Been trying to get on Eversense for a while. I was hyped when they announced it will work with twiist.

My insurance - Blue Cross Blue Shield has been a huge pain getting approved. There was no Eversense rep in my area either for a while. I did appeals, went through medical and pharmacy. I’ve been trying to piece it together without luck.

With the help of a local rep and her team they went did more appeals. After that did not work, they started to look for clinics that will do insertions that take my insurance.

Just found out they have a clinic that’s 3 hours away from me and will do it all costing me $10. Best advice - talk to a local Eversense rep if and when they are available.
