Hi so this is my first time making a post ever but i am genuinely curious about this
i am 17/f white/native American with almost pin straight hair with the random reoccurrence of waves
my hair is usually limp and flat if i dont use products but as soon as i put mousse and definer in it starts turning into a wave and frizzes up really easily
i dont want my hair flat and dead so i use those products for more "volume?"
however, if i do end up wanting like a little wave or something i will braid my hair or put it in this like spiral bun thing so it creates a pattern
thing is, when i do this bun, sometimes i need to go out and do something but im a little embarrassed on how my hair looks at the moment
so
in genuine curiosity (and i REALLY REALLY do not want to accidentally culturally appropriate anything)
could i wear like a silk bonet or something to cover it up?
i know that people with curls do that a lot and idek if this is considered cultural appropriation i just dont want to like
