This morning I said some commands to the Google assistant (not Gemini) that I usually do. Turn up the temperature, turn on the seat heater.
It recognises the question and thinks then does nothing.
I did reboot the infotainment display. But the issue persists.
Anyone have this issue?
I'm sure this was obvious for some butttttt... PSA for those who didn't know.
I thought this was AC fan speed or something at first. Because it's blue. Turns out I had my seat heaters on every time I was trying to cool down my car.

I’m trying to track the actual rollout of the Volvo EX30 high-voltage battery recall repair across different countries, to estimate when repairs may realistically begin in Egypt.
My affected EX30 is in Egypt and is subject to the 70% charging restriction. As of mid-May, I had written confirmation that the local retailer was still awaiting shipment from the mother company, with no official written repair timeline or confirmed parts allocation.
Could owners please reply with:
I’m especially interested in recent updates from the UK, Brazil, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Middle East, South Africa, Turkey and other smaller markets.
Actual dates from dealer emails or completed repairs would be extremely helpful.

I don't know when this happened and I don't see any mention of the change in the release notes either. I usually don't charge the car beyond 95% (most of the time stop at 90%), but today I accidentally charged it to full. And to my surprise OPD still worked, when I drove off from the (public) charger. This wasn't the case 2 years ago, when I bought the car and I'm pretty sure it was the same even a year ago.
I guess that somewhere along the line of the 1.7 or 1.8 updates they implemented OPD simulation, i.e. regeneration is off and the car brakes to simulate regular OPD behaviour.
I don't remember any posts about this either, but it might have been mentioned in comments.
Anyway, I thought I'd share my "discovery". Better late than never. :)
P.S.: from comments it seems that this change was introduced in the 1.6.4 update, together with the stronger OPD level setting (i.e. "High").
I have a MY2026 EX30 that drives like a charm, but yesterday a jumped in an noticed that the built in Spotify app doesn't fully sync: the last songs in my like list have not been added.
Also, I read here about everybody having Gemini but I still get Assistant...
I resetted the modem by pressing the SOS button for 20 seconds and I resetted the infotainment twice. Also deleted cache of Spotify and Assistant. And I connected to my phone hotspot for WiFi to make it use that to possibly download new info.
What should I do to fix this?
Gemini is clear now. But how about the Spotify issue. Anyone?
We are having a heat wave here in the north east.
Opened the app to start my climate control and this is what I see. 135 degrees. Not sure how accurate that is and not about to find out. Will wait 10min before heading in.
I just bought a Tesla->j1772 adapter from Amazon to try charging an ex30 with a Tesla Mobile charger at home and after plugging in the car recognized the cable plugged it but just says "waiting"... Anyone have any luck with a Tesla Mobile charger or destination charger with a correct adapter?

Really love the look of this car and potentially going to buy it over the next few days. The only problem is that it’s 2024 and affected by the battery issues that Volvo have put a recall out for. I’ve called a Volvo dealer and they can fit it in for repair in March 2027. My question is; how has anyone with this model and issue found the 70% cap? Is it something that’s bearable and you could live with for 8 months?
I was totally ready to buy the car but now having doubts. It seems a little crazy to buy a car with a known recall.
This is the first time I’ve been genuinely annoyed by the car failing to detect me. For reference, I use the smart key fob, which I was carrying.
So, I go out this morning to unplug the car, and the charging cable seems to be stuck. I give it a wiggle. Nothing. I unplug the cable from the (untethered) charger and then try removing it from the car. Still nothing. At this point, I’m starting to panic. I’m wondering what I’ve done wrong and how on earth I’m supposed to drive with a charging cable trailing behind the car.
So I pull out my phone and do a quick Google search for “charger stuck in EX30.” The first result? “Unlock the car….”

Edit: I actually didn’t know the car locks the charging cable. So that’s usefully to know!
I just got my EX 30 from a maintenance and I’ve noticed that the underside of my car is wax very nicely, i’ve asked them what wax they use, but they say they are just the wax used by that repair center. Anyone got a recommendation on what wax they used to apply on their car’s sides?
According to Gemini there are already vehicles in the wild with the new update.
I like the creep - otherwise when I am trying to reverse-bay park, I have to use the accelerator, which is a bit too powerful in tight spaces. But it's not consistent - what am I doing wrong? (New EX30, UK)

Got a message from my country’s Volvo rep who was assigned to my case, that the battery modules finally arrived and the team wanted to work on it ASAP.
Moved around a few meetings, drove it over to the country office (which was luckily just less than 30 mins away) and they said they needed a couple of days to work on it, test it and document everything.
I consider myself very lucky - they responded to my email very quickly, acknowledging the problem and highlighted the next steps (which primarily involved waiting for the modules to arrive). They alsoo provided a recent model as a courtesy car, and a generous charging credit.
Total wait time since purchase to (hopefully) resolution: 3 months, almost to the day. I’m hoping everyone of us affected worldwide also gets their turn soon!
Model: 2025 dual motor ultra (showroom unit).
We drove all the way down to Como and had a great time in our EX30, 20.000km now driven. With just a bit of traffic and a lot of ascends/decends, im happy it took little over 11.5h with our little 51kW battery. Left with 100%, charged 5 times at Tesla Superchargers. Will upgrade to either bigger battery EX30 black edition or the EX60 next year.
I just saw on the V2L adapter page that it will be available in the later part of Q3 2026(!). If i remember correctly it said July 2026 before? So probably September... Now the sad part might be indicating that the 2.1 update will release sometime then too?
Especially when the popular post about the API findings for 2.1 said 10th of June and we still havent heard anything about it. It's probably delayed. Perhaps all the focus went for the EX60 and fixing bugs for that...
