I really want a friend who i can rant to face to face about this cult and someone who will actually understand what i am saying because he has been through it too. Buts its too risky to initiate the topic of being exbohra with any of my friend since they all seem very invested into this.

I’ve noticed that quite a few people who are technically Bohri marry within the community, but both partners are fairly liberal and are essentially Bohri by name rather than by practice.

Has anyone here had a similar experience?

Conversely, has anyone married into a relatively conservative Bohri family despite being more liberal themselves? I’d be interested in hearing how that worked out
