Am I charged?

So to make a long story shirt I signed up and just was browsing. I was picking food for a future order.

I am cash strapped and it kept declining my card (again, money). I cancelled after that but I got a text saying I got meals coming today. The customer service was no help. There is no chareg on my bank statement as of yet.

So does the payment process where i'm going to have overdraft charges or what?

Should have listened

Don’t try to do business with this company, they don’t care about customer service and just want the money any underhanded way they can get it.

I did see quite a few complaints about Factor, but I had surgery and I really wanted to find a place that would deliver some quality meals that we could grab if energy levels were low. My big thing was I needed to check out the menus because we have some specific preferences and the small part of menus companies let you see up front seemed heavy on Asian food (which I love but my husband doesn‘t) and a lot of what we call bowls (ingredients all mixed together) which neither of us like.

With Factor, I was forced to provide my info to even get to the place where you could look at the meals. I didn’t like it, but the ad said “cancel anytime” so I wasn’t too worried. And I had a 50% off and free delivery so how bad could it be? I figured if I could find 6 meals, I would place the first order. But I couldn’t come up with six meals! so I made sure i canceled out of everything I could and I didn’t leave the screen until I got a cancellation notice in email.

Today, I got a text saying I am receiving an order from Factor and please verify the address by clicking on this “secure link” which seemed like a scam, honestly. But I logged on through the regular link and started a chat session, where I was told I had placed an order! I couldn’t believe it! I said I cancelled it but they said the “box had already been prepared for shipment” when I cancelled. There could not have been more than 5-6 minutes from the time I started my first Factor session until I cancelled it, but I’m supposed to believe that my order was received and packed up and ready to ship in that time period? I’m including the screen shots of my chat session. I paid $80 for six meals and that’s after my 50% discount! Free shipping was a lie also.

The chat rep seemed much more concerned with letting me know that I could never ever get a refund than worrying about my satisfaction as a customer!

This company apparently has to trick people into placing an order to get business, and then relies on people forgetting to cancel? what is wrong with showing people all the meals available so they can make a decision and then asking for all the detailed personal information? I should have listened to all of you and my own personal red flag that went up when I was putting info in before I was ready to buy.

Gave Factor One More Chance… Probably My Last

I wanted to give Factor another chance after about a year. Last time, I had issues with a late delivery and thawed food.
This time, the packaging was actually well packed and the temperature seemed safe, but I still ended up with pretty bad food poisoning for several days and eventually had to go to the ER.
I reached out to customer support, explained what happened, and they said they would follow up with me. They never did.
I was willing to give them another chance, but I think this is the end for me. 😕

If your thinking about ordering Factor...

There are many complaints in this sub, I agree.

But you need to realize people with positive experiences aren't going to be posting on this sub. There are far more positive experiences than bad ones.

Try the first box at a heavy discount (make sure to deactivate rest of the weeks), and make your decision whether you like it or not.

I dont work for the company but it helped me alot and I feel like if it could help others, they deserve to get a shot and try it.

Heating instructions in a brochure say to remove packaging and film before heating. But meal directions say to puncture holes in the film. Which is it?

Has anyone noticed this or know why the brochure would say to remove film and packaging? Are they telling us to take the food out of the container before heating? The directions on the meal sleeve don’t say anything like this.

What happened to their food?

I used to love these meals! I placed an order and received it this Saturday. The delivery was fine. I was very excited cause it’s been about 1 1/2 to 2 years. WHAT HAPPENED?! The food is awful. First thing I noticed was the dramatic change in portion size. That I figured would be different but ewww the chicken is so rubbery and fake tasting! Nothing tastes the same. These meals have gone down so far in taste and quality. Do not order if you’re thinking about it.

Factor Plus - pros and cons?

Thinking of going to Factor Plus, as i'm now six weeks in and so far, happy with the meals and service (although i do find the website somewhat wonky).

Who can tell me from experience why or why not I should sign up?

Such horseshit - I can’t end my subscription

I’ve updated my app and tried several times over the last couple months but every time I hit the end my subscription button I get a an error message and am told to try again. And of course there isn’t a customer support email for this Bush league company.

So I just have to log on every week and hit the skip button or I’ll be charged $114 for the shittiest meals I didn’t want

horrible customer service

i can’t be the only one who finds it really scammy that they charge you a full week in advance of your delivery with no warning beforehand. it’s happened to me a few times that i forgot to skip an order and got charged, yet they insist there’s nothing they can do to cancel it at that point, even though delivery is still over a week away.

this week I was told the day of my delivery that it would be delayed a full day. When I called to tell them I would be out of town and they would have to cancel the order, they said there was nothing they could do to stop it from happening. I did ultimately get a refund for the delivery, but I had to fight for it and also call multiple times. Huge hassle, and then the food was still delivered which was just a waste.

The fact is these food delivery services need to have some degree of flexibility built in, since people can’t always be available to put things in the fridge at whatever day or time they give you. It also sucks that they can change up the day on you whenever they want, yet if you want to cancel six days in advance you’re SOL.

Oh and hope you like having your doorbell aggressively rung over and over, since that’s what they always do until someone comes to the door.

The food is ok, but the service is so bad I really can’t recommend them. I only ordered a recurring box because they were running a promotion and it is nice to have ready meals sometimes but i’m actively looking for an alternative service.

Learning the hard way – a FedEx disgruntlement

I skip every second week because I only want biweekly deliveries. This week was my 14th box, b/c I love the service (I mean, as much as one can "love" a company). Monday was a holiday, meaning the production delays a day; my Tuesday delivery was shunted to Wednesday. That's fine... or so I thought.

FedEx, of course, is in rush-mode due to trying to get 5 days worth of work done in 4. I received an update email late Wednesday: "recipient unavailable" with a photo of my box on the truck (not a photo of my entry's landing). No "missed delivery" notice was left.

Key detail: My boxes are always left on my doorstep, requiring no interaction.

They didn't bother trying to deliver it, right? Because dropping it at my door, like always, should have been a no-brainer, right?

And so my delivery was made Thursday. At room temperature. Factor, thankfully, did the responsible thing and refunded the order, but what a waste.

Never again will I place an order to be delivered during the week after a Monday-holiday long weekend. Because the refund, while nearly ideal, is not an equalizer. I've also missed the deadline to un-skip next week, so I'm stuck first-world-probleming through grocery stores and less-disgusting fast food until my next order. *sadface*
