A little search let me recontextualise something...
So the cider sold by the firkin is still expensive, but for its size it is reasonably expensive.
What are your (Not)Estival Plans?
Inspired a little by another post, this ask goes out to players who have experienced Estivals (both in the Waswood and in real time) before, but is also for new players!
Last year was my first live Estival, personally. I've played a couple in the Waswood since then recently in preparation for the upcoming Not-Stival Waswood run. Having a lot to do in a small amount of time stresses me out, and I want to prioritize equipment and considering the items that will be available with the summer tokens. ^((Yes I know most of the events can be played over the course of a day apiece, shhh, this is my process.))
My plan is to get through the Estival events I haven't played (Grand Clearing Out, Coilheart Games) and get all the excellent Stat-boosting equipment, before considering what I'll spend my tokens on. I usually like to get items that fit my character, but some of my Advanced stats are really hurting compared to others and could use the boost, so getting the "free" (considering the requirements) stuff first will help me figure out what direction to take.
What are your plans for Not-Stival? If you've played the events before, do you plan on playing any of them again (even if equipment is not re-gettable)? Do you have plans to get anything in particular from the summer stall?
Hello, could anyone spare a skull with no eye-holes for an adventurous lady?
Will the new waswood content be removed when summers over?
I want to know if I should prioritize it
The Knight Curve
For a long time there we had a surprisingly consistent Knight rate of 1 Knight per day. However, that's been curving off for a while now. Out of curiosity, I did some spread sheeting to fit the that curve to an equation; chopping off a bunch of the early data points as outliers. Here is the result:
K = -1039 + 238*LN(D)
Where K is the expected Knight Number and D is the number of days since March 25th, 2025 (the day of the first Knight). From this we can get:
D = e^((K+1039)/238)
And from that we can calculate that, if the curve continues as is, Knight number 777 will occur somewhere around day 2060 or November 14th, 2030. The equation does tend to under predict the number a little bit so even with a fairly close curve fit the actual day is likely to be a day or two earlier than that. From this, I do think the year 2030 or 2031 is probably going to be a reasonable guess for how long it will take to reach the auspicious number.
Now the great Regent Alexis-chan is the 433rd Knight of Burgundy.
My only feeling is: I want to kill everyone!! Sorry! After all that grinding, there's no joy or excitement whatsoever—I feel like even grinding for the Laureate before the rework (I built all my own statues, but I still think the Laureate grind was the most painful) and Seeking the Name weren't this agonising! This man has definitely gone mad by now, hasn't he?! 😭😭😭😭 Well, it's all over now. Max and Mary, take Alexis-chan's money and get the hell out of my sight. I'm going to lie on the floor with my Tatter and stare blankly at the ceiling—damn that wretched book.

So, what's the difference between Apocrypha and Parabola's unrealities?
What exactly is the difference between the Is-Not of Parabola and the Is-Not of Apocrypha? I'm having a spectacular time with Firmament thus far (about halfway through part 4) and a meeting with Summer has put me thinking on this.
My initial interpretation, from Hallow's Throat, was that Cthonosophy centers around what Once-Was or Could-Have-Been, but you can encounter both of those in Parabola via the Waswood. Similarly, it's not as though Glasswork is unable to affect the real world- the parlor trick in Helicon House springs to mind. Is it that Parabola always reflects an interpretation of what Is, while Apocrypha need not have any such grounding in reality?
I'm really enjoying settling into this pattern of sealing these breaches, but as a Silverer who takes RP seriously, I'm still figuring out how to square all this.
Best heist for notability grind?
I've been grinding notability in preparation of me hitting posi tier 2 via watchful, and heard that heists are great for notability gain and it's been going well so far, but is there any difference between the heists in terms of notability gain? I've been hitting the museum and the landlord so far
I really don’t know why you guys enjoy my bat posts so much. Here’s another bat.
What happens to those found guilty at the Evenlode?
One of the options in a criminal trial talks of someone being subjected to London law and New Newgate instead, so at least they'll have a chance at release in the future. What would have happened to him otherwise?

DO NOT DO THE SHAPELING ARTS + MONSTROUS ANATOMY PLOT - IT IS BUGGED
I have done the 300 actions twice now, I assumed the first time was an aberration but if you attempt to extend the plot you get a confirmation and then it ends and it shows as unavailable until you complete another surgery plot! You are just throwing 300 actions down the drain till it gets fixed.
Here is a picture of my lack of plot. For all that helps.
I have been blasting through fate for 24 hours to get info on the plots for the bone post, which is bad but realistically it's wasting the same money as a night out clubbing and a taxi home. If you are free to play, 300 actions is over 2 days worth of agents you are wasting!
Question to those who takeRP seriously in FL
If you were to get to get to PoSI and choose to commit your character to a relationship before finishing all the making name stories, how would you deal with the obligatory dating in the empress' court in a name signed with flourish? (Presuming that your character is monogamous and loyal)
(This actually happened to me since I didn't really like doing the court stuff but I don't care too much about the RP part so I just finished it anyways)
Would you do it anyways? Would you divorce your partner first (and potentially remarry later)? Or would you just skip out on the entire "getting thrown out of court" locking yourself away from port carnelian, evolution, piracy, and much of the sea (and probably more content I haven't gotten to)?
(Presuming that
Ideal “ending” for a Fallen London end of service?
We all want Fallen London to stay around for a long time, and ideally should FailBetter ever decide to end development they’d create an offline version (as tricky as that would be) somehow.
But assuming the worst case scenario, it’s going offline and not coming back, how would you want things to wrap up? Full access to the exceptional stories? Infinite actions for everyone? Calendar to pick any time period you like for item hunting? 6th city event?
What’s your best case scenario for a game end?

It's been 5 years. Not sure what happened to them.
