Supervision message missing?

Ever since I started my son's device on family link, their phone would always display a message in the notification shade saying "This device is supervised with Family Link" . I've been having issues today with updates on the parental app syncing up with my son's newer device. When I set up family link on this new device it seem to be working fine at the get go, but now today when I'm having issues with their device getting updates, I'm also noticing that that supervision message is missing.

So I was just wondering if everyone else still sees that message on their spawn's device and I truly am having an issue on my son's device, or did perhaps family link make a change to remove that message from the notification shade?

I found a bypass

Hi, I found a way to unlock your phone when Downtime is active. Let me know if it works on your phone; it works on my Samsung Galaxy A05s.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Go to the Accessibility category.

  3. Tap "Interaction and dexterity."

  4. Turn on the Assistant menu.

Once Downtime is active, you'll be able to tap the Assistant menu and press the Home button.

It works, but the apps are blocked; you can only use the Google Play Store or Settings.

I need help in bypassing Family Link

I want to download an app that I'm not allowed, so I need help by passing Family Link in hopes that it won't give my parents a notification that I've downloaded the app. I also need help in making sure the app doesn't show up on my app activity.

Stolen Galaxy S10, Family Link, Secure Folder and rooting advice

Hi everyone,

my Samsung Galaxy S10 was stolen recently. Unfortunately, I had the Secure Folder on it, which I had previously been using to get around some Family Link restrictions.

Now I'm looking for a replacement phone and I'm trying to understand what my options are.

A few questions:

Does the Secure Folder method for getting around Family Link still work on newer versions of Android/One UI, or has it been patched?

I'm considering buying a used Motorola phone for around €120. Which Motorola models are relatively easy to root and have good custom ROM/root support?

Does rooting work on every Android phone, or does it depend on the exact model and bootloader?

Do I need a Windows PC to unlock the bootloader/root the phone, or can it be done entirely from the phone?

If I buy the phone and Family Link hasn't been set up on it yet, does that make any difference from a technical perspective?

Are there any important things I should know before buying a phone specifically for rooting?

I'm mainly looking for general technical advice and recommendations for a phone around €120.

If someone is genuinely experienced with rooting and could help me understand the process, I'd also be willing to compensate them with a gift card for their time. I would obviously want to make sure everything is legitimate and safe before doing anything.

Thanks!

Ps: I wrote it with AI cause i can't really write on my Tablet(:

What would you guys do in this situation?

You have 2 hours total for each day. 1 hour on youtube. Your parents dont let you install any apps besides the ones you were set with or they will take the phone away. All sites are blocked too.

Just a question

Will the parent in charge of FL get a notification when you download something, let's say an app. Will they get a notif to their phones?

Family Link: List of blocks and how to bypass them

Want to use your phone without annoying restrictions? Here is the solution. Keep in mind that some of these methods can put your phone at risk; I am not responsible for anything.

1. Methods for Bypassing Time and Schedule Restrictions.

  • Changing the Time Zone Region (Safe): Family Link evaluates the trigger based on the local time displayed on the screen. Changing the region and time zone backwards mathematically delays the trigger, because the local clock never reaches the minute at which the restriction is supposed to activate. To do this, simply go to Settings, enter "System", and in whatever appears, scroll down to "Date & Time". Then disable Automatic Time Zone and change your region to a country whose time is behind yours. The times will appear out of sync; it will only lock when the time goes back to matching the restriction time in that country.

https://reddit.com/link/1vp4113/video/f3fjv39rrjjh1/player

  • What if my phone is already locked? Don't worry, reset your phone and speedrun the first step. Depending on the device's processing speed, you have 15 to 40 seconds before it takes effect, because it takes some time to open.

2. Methods for Bypassing App Restrictions

App blocking is based on continuously monitoring the package ID (the package ID is something like com.zionhuang.music; each app has its own) that is currently in the foreground.

  • Changing the Signature and Package (Depending on the app, it may stop working or lose data): If an app such as Instagram or a game is blocked, the method consists of using an APK cloning tool (such as APK Editor) to change the package name (e.g., from com.zionhuang.music to com.badfamilylink.app you can put whatever you want). Family Link will not recognize the new name in its block list and will allow the app to run freely. Your parents may block the new app, but you can repeat this indefinitely.
  • Accessing Internal WebViews (if all browsers are blocked): Many applications that are not browsers have built-in browsing windows (WebViews). If the user can open a link or a login screen inside an allowed secondary app, they can browse the internet or access social media through that hidden window, bypassing the main browser restriction.

3. Methods for Bypassing Installation and Settings Restrictions

  • Removing the Helper via ADB (VERY DANGEROUS, IT CAN BREAK THE ENTIRE ANDROID SYSTEM): Family Link is divided between the Google account and the background app that monitoRs the phone (com.google.android.apps.kids.familylinkhelper). Using the PC command line with ADB (pm uninstall --user 0) breaks the local monitoRing. Although the account remains under control, the phone no longer has the "monitorr" active to close the screen or block menus.
  • Using Activity Launchers: If Family Link greys out a menu in Settings, apps such as Activity Launcher allow you to create direct shortcuts to hidden Android sub-menus, bypassing the main Settings interface restriction.

4. Methods for Bypassing Network Filters and GPS Monitoring

Content filters depend on Google's DNS servers and on reading the coordinates provided by the hardware's location chip.

  • Fake Location Applications (Mock Location): Android has a developer setting that allows GPS coordinates to be simulated through third-party apps (Fake GPS). If this option is enabled before the Settings are blocked, the user can set their location to any point on the map (e.g., at home), and the parents' dashboard will continue to receive that static coordinate, even if the phone changes location.
  • Changing DNS/Private VPNs: To bypass Chrome's browsing filters that block websites, changing the DNS in the network settings to an encrypted DNS (DoH) or using a strong VPN encrypts the traffic. This prevents Family Link from filtering keywords or URLs on the local Wi-Fi network.

my experience so far as a 14 year old with controls for everything

For my whole life, I've always had parental controls. From when I first got my ipad at 6 to me now having them on my air hockey table (believe it or not)

First want to say I have African parents, so using bypasses or exploits would get me beat by my dad because he checks every day

Additionaly my dad works at Morgan stanley and uses spreadsheets and documents a lot and I've seen him work so I'd say he's pretty tech savvy (less than me though)

So yeah I've had controls my whole life on every device even on my TV. My dad had a nest home app on his phone that has set times for when the TV turns off and on and can turn it off whenever he wants

Especially during covid it was especially annoying because everyone played games during class during lockdown not really listening to the teachers and stuff, but with my controls, all I could do is like play this game in 3rd grade I used to grind called prodigy math game.

Obviously I can't play games on weekdays and for weekends I would get about 1 hour of gaming per day on my laptop when that was all I had across everything. He used this thing that would say privacy error for website that were flagged on the app he was using in that genre so thing like YouTube and steam and games sites in general were all blocked by default, even on weekends.

My Nintendo switch too also has parental controls, however sometimes if I was on a game run on a game, I would ask my dad to put the code in for screen time and he would give me an additional amount of time (usually 10 minutes.)

When he puts In the code the code, he always tells me to turn around but once I caught him putting in the first 2 digits before telling me to turn.

Then one night I was playing this game and my limit came, but using the first 2 digits and guessing the last 2, I got the password. (the code was like 71__.) Unfortunately he got a alert and fixed it next day but I got bored of the switch anyway.

One time I asked my mom to check my grades on her phone , but I got curios and downloaded family link for her and told her about it.

She wasn't really listening and told me to delete it because she wants dad to handle all that stuff, but I never did and she never realized.

Then I realized that she has the same abilities as my dad for family link because they have connected parent accounts.( This works for her laptop too but I don't know the password).

The thing is, I don't overdo it. Maybe if theres a app I want and something I want unblocked, I'll change it using the grades excuse. But my sister uses my mom laptop for her tutoring because she doesn't have one herself, and she found out about it too. For the past 2 years my dad always gets pissed because she's younger and overdoses on it and makes obvious changes that my dad can see and change. He's tried everything too "fix" this issue even going as far as too switch phone and factory reset. But as long as she had that email and my mom's phone and computer, nothing will change.

My dad gets especially pissed when she uses it late at night and early in the morning on school weeks. I'm being so deadass when I say this, earlier this year on my dad birthday he walked into her room in the morning saw her on her iPad watching something and went into a rage and broke that iPad into pieces. DM me for a clip of the damage.

Additionaly, with my school computer, we get to take our home and to school everyday, in school, teacher and administration uses go guardian and allat stuff, but once you get home, they don't care what you do (unless your parents report because my friend got YouTube blocked permanently for him due to his parents).

In 6 grade it was chill because I could watch YouTube all night long, but starting last year, he added this restriction that restricts my Wi-Fi at a certain time of the day from me and my sisters school computers

When it happens I use my hotspot, but he caught tonto that too, I don't want him to restrict my 5g service so I just downloaded YouTube video on my Chromebook.

And now it's the summer. I'm 6 foot and look like a man so it's just crazy how someone like me can't even watch tiktoks (blocked tiktok and if instantly when I got my phone) also a d2 athlete

What could help is if there a way where I can control family link directly from my phone but not to bypass or disable it. Controlling it would be better. my dad checks every day and would 120% notice if Its disabled because he not one of them parents who put restrictions and leaves it is it is like others.

My dad always tell me I don't have to use all my time that I'm given and I could always have spare but idk... with downtime if you don't use your daily limit it feels as if youve wasted screen time.

I'm making this right now on my downtime from my phone because sometimes I get this glitch where it doesn't kick me out of the app I'm on before downtime started and I can use it for the usage given to me outside in regular daily limit time

I love my dad but he be doing too much. I'm going to my sophomore year also

(Sorry for my literacy I'm typing late on my phone trying to get this through.)

Does anyone know any 3rd party apps that can disable parintal controls?

My parents put it on parintal control for me after owning a phone for nearly a year. Idk why they did that bc I never did anything. I guess they just felt like doing it for no reason. I understand that installing apps i need verification but I can get that taken care of. If anyone knows any 3rd party apps (or methods to bypass it) then lmk. (Any bypasses work)

Family link, count your days.

Ever since I was only a wee little lad my mom has controlled my tablet. With the use of family link. I will find you. And I will make you wish you never existed. This is the start of my villain Arc. (And my little sister too)

Sincerely, Skylar.

Update on my villain Arc against family link:

So I have noticed that many of you enjoyed my post starting the beginning of my villain Arc, and I appreciate the fame

But remember, this is only this beginning

NOT sincerely, Skylar.

(I'm too emo and evil to be sincere now)
