I want to try this game because it got a 60fps update on PS5, but I heard there were issues with the aim being laggy. Is it noticeable or still worth the 6 bucks?

I'm in the mission payback, where I have to enter the compound but when it spawns me infront of the island I can't equip any of my guns or use my grenades or meelee. I can do takedowns tho. Every playthrough of this mission online has people using their guns so is this a bug and how do I fix it?

everytime i start farcry i can play maybe 5 to 10 minutes and then it crashes ive done everything from LAA enabling Farcry d3dx11 and normall farcry to playing directx9 and 11 on lowest res and mid res and updating and changing my graphics drivers. I played this game years ago on the same PC for about 6 hours then it started to crash i even began a new game.
My specs are
Ryzen 5 3500X 6core
Rx580 8GB
and i have 16 gb ddr4 and have this game on a ssd what can i do to farcry not turning my pc off
Ive heard about farcry 3 not liking 8 cores or smth but im lost pls help
(Every other thinkable game works wellish on this pc so its not a Components problem)

UPDATE: i now deleted farcrydx11 and the dll file cuz of a guide and it got even worse wtf why is farcry 3 like a little bitch on my pc

Far Cry 3 would launch on Steam + Ubisoft Connect, then crash immediately.

The issue was:

Check with:

glxinfo -B

If you see:

llvmpipe (LLVM ...)

You must fix GPU rendering first (OpenGL to Intel GPU) before games will work properly.

Even though:

• Intel GPU was detected
• Vulkan worked correctly
• Drivers were installed

OpenGL was falling back to software rendering.

In my case, the fix was:

Step by step solution.

1. Verify Intel GPU is detected

sudo lshw -c video

Look for:

• Intel Iris / UHD Graphics
• example: driver= i915

2. Check GPU render device exists

ls -l /dev/dri

You should see like:

• card0 or card1
• renderD128(make sure you have it)

3. Make sure your user has GPU permissions (IMPORTANT)

Check groups:

groups

You should see:

• video
• render

If missing, add them:

sudo usermod -aG video $USER
sudo usermod -aG render $USER

Then reboot:

sudo reboot

This allows access to /dev/dri for GPU acceleration.

4. Install Mesa utilities

sudo apt install mesa-utils

5. Check OpenGL renderer (MOST IMPORTANT TEST)

glxinfo -B

Wrong:

llvmpipe

Correct:

Mesa Intel(R) UHD Graphics (ICL GT1)

6. (Optional) Reinstall graphics stack

This ensures Mesa + drivers are clean:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install --reinstall \
libgl1-mesa-dri \
libglx-mesa0 \
libegl-mesa0 \
libgbm1 \
libdrm2 \
mesa-vulkan-drivers

7. Switch from Wayland → Xorg (THIS IS THE FIX)

This changed OpenGL backend behavior, and stopped llvmpipe fallback.

Steps:

1. Log out
2. On login screen:
   • Select your user
   • Click ⚙️ gear icon (bottom right)
3. Select:

Ubuntu on Xorg

1. Log in again

8. Confirm session type

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

its expected to be:

x11

9. Reset Steam Proton prefix (really important)

Old config was created while GPU was broken:

rm -rf ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/220240

As a result:

• no more llvmpipe
• Intel GPU properly used
• Far Cry 3 launches correctly

I played this game years ago and loved it but had a full desktop gaming computer.

Now i have a dell laptop with no d-gpu, just 1145g7 iris xe 80eu with 16gb ram.

What mods should I install which won't degrade performance?

Happy to overhaul or remain vanilla-ish.

edit: I installed LAA to increase game ram from 2gb to 4gb, then Redux, then Reshade Realistic and playing at 1080p on med to low settings, DX9, seems to be going well after an hour or 2 of gaming, stable no crashes, and good playability/performance (not sure what FPS tho).

I tried Googling it, but as usual, Google's AI proves to be absolutely f***ing useless. My girl and I are currently working on the coop achievements which is all I have left to get for this game, but neither of us can figure out what the abilities are, nor how to use them. I clicked both thumbsticks in and activated my "Battle cry," but I have no idea what it did. I didn't notice a difference in anything. If someone could explain it a bit, we would be very appreciative.

I've also come across multiple suitcases called "Booster Shot" and after picking it up I get a little icon on the side of my screen, but I don't know if it's like a passive upgrade, or if it needs to be activated. I also don't know how to activate it.

There is no help page in the pause menu, and I don't want to exit to the main menu because I'm not sure how our progress gets saved and I don't want to have to start over this long ass mission.
