Found out why his car suddenly had a hole in it during the race. Got part hanging from underneath car.
So it started off grounded and limited to just street conflict and then evolved to the main cast becoming a badass crew (or family) pulling off heists and taking on powerful criminals. Not to mention giving Dom superhuman strength.
