Anything with that same wild, beachy, carefree vibe and dark humor?
Can someone please suggest me good thriller or horror movies???
Looking for fun R-rated comedies with great bromance, nonstop laughs, party/travel vibes, and a bit of romance
Looking for movies with a similar vibe to Undercover Brother*,* goofy with parody/spoof elements, stylish characters, and early-2000s vibe.
something with a warm, human story, a memorable main character, and that mix of comedy, drama, and emotional moments.
Looking for movies with the same kind of absurd, nonstop joke style as Airplane!
Examples I've watched and realized I loved in part because of having good dialogue without much scenery change, messy conversations, and tension built in a short span of time:
The Hateful Eight (2015 Quentin Tarantino)
Dog Day Afernoon (1975 Sidney Lumet)
Twelve Angry Men (1957 Sidney Lumet)
Glengarry Glen Ross (1992 James Foley)
High and Low (1963 Kurosawa. I know only half of it is what I'm describing but it's the half I liked most and was even a bit disappointed to find out it was more than that).
I work from home, and I’ve realized I always end up putting on the same kind of movies during those small gaps between work. Not something super intense or plot-heavy — just movies that feel familiar enough to exist in the background while my brain resets for a bit.
My two comfort movies lately have been The Intern and Chef.
The Intern is weirdly calming to me. The whole movie has this soft, easy energy to it. Nice offices, simple conversations, no unnecessary chaos. It makes work feel less stressful somehow, especially on days where I’ve been jumping between tabs and calls for too long. It’s one of those movies that reminds you work doesn’t always have to feel rushed and exhausting.
Chef is the one I put on when I’m mentally fried. The music, the food, the road trip vibe — everything about it feels warm. Nothing dramatic really happens, and that’s exactly why it works. It feels like a break without fully disconnecting from the day.
I think when you work from home, your brain is always slightly “on.” These movies kind of help create a soft pause between things. Not full escapism, just something comforting playing in the background while life keeps moving.
Need more movies with this exact vibe though — calm, comforting, easy-to-watch background movies that don’t drain you.
Would love recommendations because I feel like I’ve replayed these 500 times now.
Hi all, my dad has Alzheimer’s and sometimes sleeps a lot. He perks up when we watch a good action movie, though, and pays attention to the end. For example, we just watched John Wick together. Mom was not too happy about the violence, but the simple premise and all the action had him riveted until the end. He also liked Greyhound with Tom Hanks, probably because dad was in the navy for 10 years. He has always liked cowboys and martial arts, too. I can explain plot points, but in general I try to stay away from complicated premises and slow movies with a lot of dialogue. Any movie/series recommendations you can think of?
Not every “good” movie is fun to watch with friends tbh 😭
The best ones are the movies that entertain you and somehow leave you thinking about your own life after.
A few that genuinely stayed with me:
• The Secret Life of Walter Mitty — if you’ve been feeling stuck in the same routine lately, this one quietly pushes you to take chances and stop waiting for life to begin
• Midnight in Paris — such a good reminder that every generation thinks the “best days” were in the past… meanwhile life is happening right now
• Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara — honestly feels like therapy for people who overwork, overthink, and forget to enjoy their friendships
• About Time — made me realize how much peace there is in ordinary moments we usually rush through
• Little Miss Sunshine — chaotic family, imperfect people, life not going as planned… and somehow still beautiful
These are the kind of movies where everyone gets quiet for a minute after the ending because something actually clicked inside 🥲🍿
Would love more recommendations like this — movies that are entertaining but also genuinely change the way you look at life a little.
I’m a mom, and I’ve watched these with my kids—and honestly, they’ve stayed with me just as much as they did with them. Here’s what I took away from each one:
Toy Story 🤠
On the surface it’s fun and playful, but it really hits on friendship, jealousy, and learning to let go as life changes. It’s a sweet reminder that growing up doesn’t mean losing the people (or toys) you love.
Finding Nemo 🐠
Such a beautiful mix of adventure and emotion. It really shows the parent-child bond in such a real way, while also teaching kids courage, trust, and the importance of giving space to grow.
Inside Out 🧠
This one makes emotions so easy for kids to understand. It gently reinforces that it’s okay to feel everything—sadness, anger, joy—and that all of it plays a part in how we grow.
Coco 🎸
One of the most emotional ones for me. It’s about family, memory, and holding on to your roots, while also encouraging kids to follow what they love with heart and courage.
Zootopia 🐰
Light and fun, but with a strong message underneath about not judging people based on appearances. It’s really about kindness, fairness, and looking beyond labels.
Perfect picks for a cozy movie night—fun for kids, but honestly just as meaningful for parents too 🍿✨
Looking for movies where a group of friends just mess around, make bad decisions, do stupid/funny things, and genuinely enjoy themselves. Could be comedy, party movies, road trips, etc.

Looking for movies with a similar vibe I mean something stylish, funny, fast-paced and with strong chemistry between characters.
I’m looking for movies with characters who are very self-absorbed, arrogant, or think highly of themselves, but unlike someone like Iron Man / Tony Stark, they’re not actually geniuses, superheroes, or especially impressive.
I’m looking for intense edge-of-your-seat action/thriller movies where there’s a constant ticking clock, bomb threat, hostage situation, or “if they fail everyone dies” type tension.
Movies/shows with vibes like:
I love movies where the tension never stops and the characters are racing against time. Doesn’t have to be only bombs — trains, planes, terrorists, survival situations, etc. are all good.
Any hidden gems or underrated thrillers? Old or new both welcome.
Could be sweet, bittersweet, or even a little melancholic, as long as it gives that “I want something like that” feeling.

I’ve already seen the other movie in the series, so I’m looking for movies with that same style of humor with nonstop jokes in the background.
Ok so in my twenty years of living I've never really been a far of mindless action movies. After a point the shooting and the running and the screaming starts to get boring, so I never really went for the massy films in theaters and even if I did, I was really easy to zone out in the action sequences.
There's only a very specific sub genre of action/adventure I've liked, and I dont know what to name it. One of these movies is Captain America: The Winter Soldier (I liked the entire franchise, but this one was my favourite) and Top Gun: Maverick, and also The Nice Guys (2016). I know the last one is more comedy-adventure than action-thriller, but the point stands.
In Bollywood, I also really liked Dhurandhar recently. I know it's a bit jingoistic, but it's kind of my guilty pleasure because after so long I saw carefully crafted violence, where all the gore and drama weren't gratuitous but actually served to push the plot further (which was the problem was Dhurandhar 2, it was mindless violence all the way through when the movie could've easily been resolved in 2 hours instead of 4). The soundtrack and the screenplay were so good, and i really liked the individual importance given to each chapter and each character. I liked it sm I ever wrote a small fanfic about it from Uzair's pov.
Are there any other such movies that I might enjoy?
